I watched "United 93" this weekend. It was not as emotional as I thought it would be, it was much more a behind the scene movie than I thought (which, btw, brought up alot of anger b/c of the incompetence). Still, you cannot not cry when the passengers are making the phone calls to tell their loved ones goodbye. All in all, it wasn't the "remembrance" movie that I thought it would be (which may have been good for those families involved). The credibility of the movie was outstanding as many of the "actors" of flight control, etc. played themselves.

Rhonda, I'm really glad that you posted this because I want to see it but I was thinking that it would be too emotional and haunting.

Rhonda, I'm really glad that you posted this because I want to see it but I was thinking that it would be too emotional and haunting. It wasn't for me, and I cry at sappy commercials. IMO this film showed how chaotic that day was, and how closed off the lines of communication btwn military, ground crew, etc. was. It did show the heroism of the passengers (yet to what extent was truth, I don't know). It was sad, to remember, but I didn't feel I'd re-lived it.

The Sentinel
Which I loved it! and highly recommend. It stars Michael Douglas, Keifer Sutherland, and Kim Bassinger...
It was REALLy fast paced and I love that type of movie.. not sure what you would classify it... um... political thriller?? or something
Only downfall is the ending... has anyone else seen it?
I tell you what.. .Michael Douglas... #105# #wub# he sure is a good looking dude... whew (to me anyway LOL)
Great I idea Rhonda... i'm just now seeing this for some reason..??

Hey all...if you want to see a great sports-related movie, go check out "The Heart of the Game"!!
It's about the Roosevelt High School girls basketball team. My hubby, Matt, teaches at Roosevelt High School and knows many of the girls in the movie. It's a documentary that follows them for 7 years and their rivalry with Garfield High School (also from Seattle) and their quest to become State champions. We were at a lot of the later games on their run for the State championship title.
It's funny, sad, emotional & very exciting!! Let me know what you think if you watch it!!

Sounds interesting Sophia. I've never heard of it though, is it something that's out in theaters now?
Rhonda I was glad to read what you wrote about United 93 but I still don't think I could handle it. I lost two people to that horrible tragedy (both firefighters) and even though I'm sure they did a great job with it I don't want to see any of those images again if I can help it.
The Sentinal sounds good Ames. I love Keifer and Michael too. I think they're both very good looking.
This past weekend I saw The Breakup with Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn. I like both of them and was expecting to like the movie. Unfortunately I was very disappointed. It wasn't nearly as good as I had hoped. Oh, well you can't win them all.
Has anyone seen The Lakehouse? I want to see that next.
