Toni- The CD is awesome. It sounds like the Duran Duran we all remember but current too. I think that's the influence of Justin Timerlake and Timbaland on the band...You can even hear both of them doing backup on some of the songs...My personal fave songs right out of the shoot are Night Runner, Skin Diver and Last Man Standing. Those were the ones I chose after just one listening. Falling Down (the new single) will grow on me since I'm already humming the chorus long after the song has ended. I really like this cd, it's the first D2 cd I've liked every original song on since The Wedding Album in 1993. I want to see this tour so bad...maybe if they come to Columbus.....If you're a Duranie check it out. It's great. And don't forget to watch them on the American Music Awards Sunday night.

Ok heres another thread I had no idea was started..thanks Wanda...you rock! I would only watch Good morning America if a few particular bands or person (MiG) was on. Otherwise I am way to busy! Wanda your right Red Carpet massacre is amazing and unforgettable. D2 are brilliant! My favorite song off of the cd is "BOX FULL OF HONEY" I can't get that tune out of my head. I love that song. It is so classic Duran. Of course they still got it!! They are Duran Duran! #drool# #thud# " I think the song is called "Last man standing" That song is a continuation of "Still breathing" from Astronaut. What a great song! What an amazing sound! I also am really lovin "Dirty green Monster" It just has a cool vibe to it! But I can go on forever about this. So I'll stop now. I wonder what song we could convince MiG to sing of Duran Duran's? Hey I should of asked him that question in the poll! Darn I am so mad I didn't think of that #mur# #mur# #mur# #mur# #mur# #mur##pullhair# Oh well I guess I'll have to wait to I see him in person...If that will ever happen again. Thanks for starting this thread...It will be fun!

Jaunty, actually Toni started the thread...I just contributed the next message to it, LOL. Anna, you've got great taste in music....Duran and MiG...two great performers. As for a D2 song for MiG to sing, let's see, Do You Believe in Shame? My Own Way, New Moon on Monday, Notorious, Meet El Presidente, I could go on and on...

My favorite Duran Duran songs are all of them - lol - but if I had to narrow it down, it would have to be, Notorious, Serious, A View To A Kill, I Don't Want Your Love, The Reflex, Late Bar and Friends of Mine.

Check this out: Duran Duran - North American tour Category: Music Duran Duran roll out their 2008 RED CARPET MASSACRE North American Tour with Citi® Tour Kicks Off April 29th in Vancouver, Canada Hot on the heels of an unprecedented 10-show run on Broadway and the release of their latest critically acclaimed studio album – RED CARPET MASSACRE (Epic Records) – musical innovators Duran Duran today announced details of a 22-date North American tour that will begin in Vancouver, Canada on April 29 and end in New York with two spectacular concerts at Central Park's Summerstage at the end of May. The upcoming shows will mark the band's second stint in the U.S. since the release of their twelfth studio album, the first being a Broadway residency at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre that heralded the record's release in mid-November. In a bold move, Duran Duran performed RED CARPET MASSACRE in its entirety to sold-out houses every night for two weeks on The Great White Way, prior to the album's global launch. Encouraged by the enthusiastic response from fans and critics alike, the band are now taking a tailored version of this three-act show on the road around the world, starting in New Zealand, where they will kick off the tour at the end of this month. Tickets for all of the shows on this upcoming run will go on sale to the public on Saturday March 15th at 10.00 am (local time) through all of the usual outlets. Prior to that, Citi® (who also presented the band's Broadway residency) will be offering cardmembers a pre-sale opportunity for all of the U.S. dates (excluding Vancouver and the Bahamas), starting Wednesday, March 12th at 9.00 am EST. Cardmembers should visit www.privatepass.citi.com for details. Members of Duran Duran's fan community will also have access to pre-sale tickets and VIP packages through www.duranduranmusic.com starting on Wednesday 12th March at 9.00 am EST. (This includes the two shows outside of the U.S., in the Bahamas and Canada.) RED CARPET MASSACRE marks an all-time creative high for the band, who wrote and recorded this groundbreaking album with producers Timbaland and Nate 'Danja' Hills, alongside today's reigning king of pop, Justin Timberlake. Garnering them some of their best reviews to date, RCM has been described as "… a stroke of lightning captured on record … a triumph, a marvel, and a hell of a lot of fun." (Nylon Magazine); while others have declared that "sexy is back … and it's got a posh English accent" (Blackbook). During an illustrious career spanning three decades, Duran Duran have remained at the forefront of popular music, consistently pushing the creative envelope and breaking new ground. Since their inception, the band have sold over 70 million albums, recorded countless hit records, received numerous accolades, and have been presented with no fewer than five prestigious "Lifetime Achievement" awards since 2002 (MTV Video Music Award, Q Magazine, The BRITS, Ivor Novello, Spanish Ondas). Speaking from their studio in London, where the band are currently in the middle of tour rehearsals, Duran Duran front man Simon LeBon said today how delighted they were to be continuing with their partnership with Citi® who are now at the forefront of entertainment experiences for cardmembers. "They were an incredible partner for us on the Broadway shows and we are extremely pleased that they are on board for this first U.S. run," he said. "These are going to be extremely exciting shows for us – taking a very different format to the last world tour we did in 2006. We are introducing a lot of new elements to the show both musically and in terms of the staging. We have been working on completely different arrangements for some of the older material and will be integrating a lot of our latest record into the performances. We need to keep things fresh – not only for ourselves, but also for our audiences, who can be assured of a lot of surprises with this new production." * * * * * * * Tickets will be available from Wednesday 12th March at 9.00 am EST to Citi cardmembers through www.privatepass.citi.com. Tickets will also be available from Wednesday 12th March at 9.00 am EST to members of the Duran Duran Fan Community. Details of this pre-sale and other special Fan Community offers will be available on www.duranduran.com and www.duranduranmusic.com. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Saturday March 15th through all usual ticket outlets. Duran Duran's Red Carpet Massacre Tour (US 2008)

I am hoping to see Duran Duran in NYC this May. I have no idea what the tickets will cost. My friend and I are broke but I want to go sooooo badly - never mind the fact that I just saw them on Broadway back in November. I have to go or I'll be sad

I was doing some surfing and here's a bummer for MiG if he wanted to see D2...Duran is going to be in Hong Kong on April 12 at 8 p.m. I'm assuming it's across town from the theater where WWRY is being performed cos that's a two-show day for MiG 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Too bad they couldn't have been there the previous Monday when he'd have had a chance to go if he wanted to. But, who knows, as much luck as he has running into famous people, he might just run into one of them (or more) in a hotel lobby or a restaurant or something. We can only hope. I just thought that was a neat coincidence.
