JVD, I love all the pictures, point and shoot or not, you captured the essence. I truly enjoy sharing your experiences through your lenses.
BTW, my rainbow pics are lame, only a few colors came out LoL, so it belongs to the back of the folder LoL.

Thanks, Riza. You're very nice - I'm really not crazy about that pic. Sorry I have been away and missed the birthday festivities. I was in Singapore for a family vacation, but just for 3 days. We spent a lot of time at the zoo, night safari, bird park, dolphin show.... I did manage to knock back a Singapore Sling at the Long Bar at the Raffles Hotel ... way too sweet for me and OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive. Anyway. I tried but didn't manage to catch up with one of the mm.com posters from Singapore, but there is always next time. So here are some pics. Sizes are a bit all over the place - sorry. Zoo pics Bird Park Pics Underwater World Pics This thing is HUGE - its body (minus the legs) is considerably bigger than my head. Around the hotel and some flowers: There were peacocks and peahens walking around the hotel. Bizarre, but beautiful. Oh, and from a cable car: With that, I'm off to bed; I still have a really hard time accessing this board from home and will have a look around tomorrow at lunch in the office. (Explorer keeps booting me back to the main page no matter how often I log in/out, and I'm too set in my ways to move to a different browser.) 'nite!

welcome back Jennifer. I like people and nature pics better than wildlife but again your pics are stellar. I love the pic of your kids and the shark. They are adorable

All those pictures are amazing!!! I love the Singapore Lion...the stone stature one! That must be something to see in person! Every time I see your pics I think I will go out and try to work on my photography. But I never seem to get around to it, lol. Maybe if I learned more of the camera abilities, I would do it. Or maybe if I thought that stuff around here was more interesting, I would do it. I guess I'm in a rut, lol. And I spend all my time photochopping, lol.

It's great to have you back, Jennifer! It looks like you had a great vacation. Your kids are the cutest!
Once again your photos are outstanding. I really like nature photos, so saw a whole bunch that caught my eye! Some of the ones that especially wowed me are the zebras, tiger and flowers, and the lighting on the bear in the water and the rays is cool! The lion's head is a fabulous shot. That spider scares me to death! I'd run in the opposite direction!

Is that really a spider, or some kind of "spider crab" crustacean???

Thanks again to everyone for sharing the gorgeous photos. So many places and things that I might not otherwise have seen.

JVD always has such gorgeous pic from exotic places that it makes me want to get back into taking cool pics...but I don't go anywhere fascinating. So this week I have been taking some pics around here, and decided to do a little series on ...fun with photochopping... *e2a* oops, I made the pics a bit large. I'll go back and resize later First, the original picture. It was a really bright morning sun trying to burn through a thick haze. Then, I decided to play with the colors and intensities. Alien Sun... and the contrast and lightness... The Eye of Ra... and of course, then I had to go overboard with changing it up, lol. had to sneak in some gimp brushes...

Cool pics! Your neck of the woods is "exotic" to those of us who live in other parts of the US or world. I don't know what size you had them before but, to me these are bit small for my "old" eyes.

Toni, those are cool. I am not good at changing things up like that.

Jennifer, I was looking back at the wildlife pictures and I am amazed at the quality. They are so crisp and clear, they look professionally done. I know you have said that you used a film camera for the Cambodia pics but what about these. Did you use film or digital. If digital, what kind do you use. Have you taken classes? Do you change settings with every shot? I have used a canon and now have a sony digital and none of my pictures ever turned out this good. Course, I point and shoot. Someday I would like to take a class to maybe improve my pictures.
Cammy, you should post some of your pictures here too, you have that great camera and your pictures are great too.

OMG, I remember Cammy's Ginormous lenses on her camera!!! You could get a clear crisp shot of an eyelash at 3 miles with her camera! Rose, The pics were "message board size", which was as large as the width of the message board post window...they were massive and would take too long for loading, not to mention anyone who didn't have TM on full screen would have scroll to see the whole pic. And I don't really consider a corn or soybean field "exotic", lol!

I love this thread! Toni that camera gets quite heavy to carry around!!! Most of the pictures that I have been taking are of my sons baseball games...nothing quite exciting for most people. I think I have posted these before but these were the flowers that were blooming in my yard at some point. I will have to go thru the pictures sometimes and look for the ones that are not baseball related! May take awhile!! ;D
