Cincy off to a good start. Hee is a picture and article from Fox19 Morning News. The picture isn't very good but I think it is live from the performance Wednesday, October 27, 2010 Rock Of Ages We Built This City...We Built This City On Rock And Roll! Good Morning Everyone, Frank Here...Do you sing out loud to classic 80's songs? Do you think you know the words, but like me you often make words up to songs? Well if you answered yes then you will love Rock of Ages, playing now at the Aronoff Center downtown. The show was fantastic, showcasing some of your favorite 80's songs with pop culture from the decade. You even get a pretend lighter to wave in the air which is pretty cool. One of the stars of the show is Constantine Maroulis, former American Idol contestant who really found his calling in this show. The story line is one of a boy and girl who go through the roller coaster of finding love in the rock and roll culture of the day. You owe it to yourself to see this non-traditional musical, it will have you on your feet. Later this morning some of the stars will be in our studio and on Thursday we will be LIVE on the set of Rock of Ages. fox19morning.blogspot.com/2010/10/rock-of-ages.html

cincinnati.broadwayworld.com/article/MiG_Ayesa_Comes_To_Cincinnati_With_ROCK_OF_AGES_20101027Aussie/Filipino WEST END star, BROADWAY star, ROCKSTAR:INXS finalist, and now INTERNATIONAL RECORDING ARTIST MiG Ayesa is now in Cincinnati with the cast of ‘ROCK OF AGES' for its next stop on the US tour. MiG is playing the role of STACEE JAXX, opposite American Idol's Tony Award Nominee Constantine Maroulis, who reprises his acclaimed performance as ‘Drew', for the musical tour across the country. ‘ROCK OF AGES', playing at The Aronoff Center for a limited two-week engagement October 26 thru November 7, 2010, celebrated one year on Broadway as well as 5 Tony Award nominations and 267 sold out shows before hitting the road for its US tour in September. Its first stop ‘rocked' the city of Chicago with its sold out shows and rave reviews, followed with equally successful stops in Boston and Minneapolis before its arrival in Cincinnati. ‘ROCK OF AGES' is a hair-band love story of a small town girl who meets a big city rocker on LA's Sunset Strip's most famous dive bar. They fall in love to the greatest songs of the '80's as the story is told through the mind-blowing, face melting hits of Journey, STYX, Bon Jovi, Poison, Whitesnake and many more. Cincinnati is one of the tour stops MiG has most looked forward to, as among other things Cincinnati is the home of Peter Frampton. It was MiG's performance of Frampton's ‘BABY I LOVE YOUR WAY' on CBS's hit reality show ROCKSTAR:INXS that won MiG thousands of fans. It also led to his rendition of the song, which included a guest performance by Frampton himself, being featured on MiG's 2007 debut album. While musical theatre continues to be one of MiG's greatest aspirations, it is the opportunities touring provides, for connecting with musicians such as Frampton, fans, friends, and family, that MiG most looks forward to. Although MiG has played leads on a Broadway musical (‘BURN THE FLOOR') and stages such as London's West End (‘WE WILL ROCK YOU', ‘RENT', ‘BUDDY') and in Australia (‘GREASE', ‘FAME', ‘RENT', ‘WEST SIDE STORY', ‘BUDDY'), sang on television shows (ROCKSTAR:INXS, HANDEL'S MESSIAH ROCKS, THE ROYAL VARIETY PERFORMANCE), toured with concerts (‘THRILLER:LIVE!', ‘QUEEN SYMPHONIC SPECTACULAR', ‘THE MUSIC OF Andrew Lloyd Webber'), played vampires on film (QUEEN OF THE d**nED) and globally released his self-titled debut CD through Decca/Universal, it is his love of connecting with and meeting new people, that he views as the true blessing, making his job worth more than its weight in gold. MiG is also in the final stages of recording his follow-up CD, due for release in the coming months. For the latest MiG news please visit MiG's official site www.mig-music.com. My daughter won a VIP package from a local radio station here in Cincinnati and we got to go to Rock of Ages in Rockstar style! A limo dropped us off at the Stage Door where we were given our all access lanyards and then were taken to the sound check prior to the show. The actors were still in street clothes running through their songs. We then were taken to the green room where we had food/drinks until the show started. We then went to our seats (3rd row) to see the show. OMG - what a great production! Everyone was super, but MIG was awesome!!! After the show we went back to the green room and after about 15 minutes the cast came in. Mig was one of the first. Mig was so nice and graciously posed for pics and talked for a long time with Laura and I. He autographed here Playbill and when our sharpee wouldn't work, he rooted around in his backpack to find his own! What a freakin' awesome, stupendous, wonderful night! The photos are below if I did this right! Kathleen

Thank you so much for sharing your very special and memorable night at Rock of Ages with other Team MiG members and our guests! I'm thrilled for you and Laura, and am happy you had a chance to hang out with MiG in the Green Room and meet other cast members. It's a very talented group. I agree with you - MiG is nothing short of awesome in the show! As you know, he's also awesome when he's not on stage, which is one of the reasons there are so many people who care about him and his career. Your pictures are all terrific, Kathleen! You and Laura look like you're having such a fun time. The middle picture is such an adorable shot of you. Kay

WW Reviews: ROCK OF AGES Rocks Cincinnati cincinnati.broadwayworld.com/article/BWW_Reviews_ROCK_OF_AGES_Rocks_Cincinnati_20101031 Sunday, October 31, 2010; Posted: 06:10 PM - by Jill Siekman Share | The popular Broadway musical Rock of Ages is currently rocking out at the Proctor and Gamble Hall at the Aronoff Center now through November 7th. The show centers on two people, Drew (Constantine Maroulis) and Sherrie (Rebecca Faulkenberry) as they live and work on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood during the 1980s. Both have dreams of making it big. The plot is peppered with classic rock songs, including "We're Not Gonna Take It," when the crew comes together to try to save their beloved Bourbon Room on the Strip from developers, "Wanted Dead or Alive," "Here I Go Again," and the particularly crowd-pleasing "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey. There is a plot that moves the show along, but most of the audience seemed to be more excited about the songs and the cast and musicians do an amazing job recreating the hits. An on-stage house band provides the music and the cast sings the heck out of the songs. Many may be familiar with Maroulis from his American Idol days, but he does a great job acting as the slightly awkward Drew too (and earned a Tony nomination for the role on Broadway as well). Faulkenberry deserves an additional nod as Sherrie, as does MiG Ayesa, as another rocker Stacee Jax, Patrick Lewallen as Lonny, and Casey Tuma as Regina.Rock of Ages provides a fun escape for a few hours. The show doesn't take itself too seriously ("I'm no Andrew Lloyd Sondheim," says Lonny) and also breaks down the theatrical fourth wall to interact with the audience a bit and creates a more casual experience. If you like the style of music and don't mind the loud music that tries "to melt your face off," then wave the pretend lighters the ushers give you at the door in the air and enjoy. Rock of Ages is playing The Aronoff Center now through November 7, 2010: Tuesdays-Fridays at 8:00PM, Saturdays at 2:00PM and 8:00PM, and Sundays at 1:00PM and 6:30PM. Tickets range from $22.50 to $64.50 and may be purchased online at BroadwayAcrossAmerica.com, in person at the Broadway Across America Box Office downtown in the Mercantile Center at 120 East 4th Street and the Aronoff Center Box Office or by phone at 1-800-982-2787. For groups of 10 or more, contact the group sales department at 513-369-4363. Read more: cincinnati.broadwayworld.com/article/BWW_Reviews_ROCK_OF_AGES_Rocks_Cincinnati_20101031#ixzz142VFpUYp

Surprise!!!I was able to go to see Rock of Ages in Cincinnati yesterday #happy036# The theater was offering tickets at the box office for buy one get one FREE and so I was able to convince my sisters it was a good time for a sisters day out. My sister Patty who lives here in Columbus agreed to drive me to Cincy since I can't drive that far yet postop and we picked up my youngest sister Linda in Cincinnati and headed down to the Aronoff Center. We went to the box office hoping they would still have the 2 for one tickets and we got seats in the 12th row I think in the left orchestra. The Bengals were in town and had a 1 pm game so the theater wasn't full. The crowd was a bit older(than me even)-I think mostly older subscribers. I met a couple from Cincy and they wanted to know what i knew about the show(I could here my sisters snickering in the background and one muttered-they asked the right person lol) These are my younger sisters -still give their olde sister a hard time but I digress. I told them a little about the play and told them that Stacee Jaxx is my favorite character because I admire the actor playing the part and have seen him in other venues. At the end they told me they enjoyed the play very much and thought MiG was quite good. I street teamed a bit and told them he has an album available and a new one coming otu soon and suggested they give it a listen. I was disappointed that the role of Sherrie was being played by an actress other than Rebecca but I needn't have worried. Holly Laurent one of the swings covers that part and gave a beautiful performance as Sherrie. I can't imagine stepping into a role that big but Holly has a great voice and she and Constantine have good chemistry together. She did a fabulous job. The part of Lonnie was played yesterday by Sean Jenness. At first we couldn't hear him clearly-?sound problem but either he adjusted or the sound man and he did a very good job as Lonny. Procor and Gamble Hall in the Aronoff Center is a very new modern building. It appeared to me that there probably wasn't a bad seat in the house. The crowd as I said was older and so they weren't really an exuberant audience but all in all a very appreciative audience. They gave a nice standing O at the end of the performance. It was amazing what I saw that I had never seen before-little facial nuances that added another bit of dimensiion. I didn't know MiG comes crawling down the aisle when he is acting out the Drunk Stacee before coming on stage or tht some of the other actprs also enter the stage (Regina) from the aisle. The cast performed as though there was a full house of fun young folks. They were as enthusiastic as any performance and gave ti there all. MiG of course was stellar as Stacee. It worries me to see him throw himself around those hard stages Lol. Sometimes it is hard to keep the mom inside me away. My sisters and I had a great time and the play was a lot of fun and a lot of laughs. MiG sounded amazing and the audience was appreciative of his performance. Franz and Regina and Hertz of course got major laughs for their part...won't say which and spoil anyone's surprise. Afterward we waited and said hi to Constantine and took a picture with him and then best of all I got to introduce my sibs to MiG. MiG had us all laughing. He is such a warm and wonderful person. My sisters both liked him a lot. Here is our one pic with him-I behaved myself for a change and didn't take so many pictures. My sisters and I don't look much alike except for our happy smiles. And look at MiG that blue cap and shirt really brings out the blue in those pretty eyes.
