Thank you to Toni, and MB too. It's great to see MiG front and center on the poster - it's right where he belongs! It's cool that the designer put MiG between Sherrie and Drew on the poster so it tells the story visually of how Stacee gets in the middle of their budding romance. That's a fabulous picture of MiG! It's good Rock of Ages has the most current Broadway cast on the poster - then the cast gets recognition, and people will know what to expect on stage.

Hi ALL!!!!!!
No pix downloaded yet but we will.......soon!!! Darrell and Toni are on their way back home and I'm TRYING to do my job with NO VOICE left! lol.....
GREAT SHOWS -- WONDERFUL cast - of course I'm partial to the fact that there are 7 of the Canadian cast now on BROADWAY --
MiGGy is awesome as a Brit Rockstar - hey Doug!!! heehee........awesome --- as always!!!!!!!!
will get the pix and more run down to ya later - the Sat night show was a little bit sedate - we were sitting pretty far back so it's pretty hard to get things going from 'way' back there but on Sunday....woohoo - that second row is really the first row and boy can you have fun from there - HIGHLY recommend it!!!!
Had a great time with Joel (from Night Rider) during the show getting everyone involved and paricipating!!! Tony understudied the part of Dennis on Sunday and ROCKED it out of the park!!!!
Christina and Brian were awesome hosts - THANKS MUCH for everything -- and suffice to say a FACE MELTING great time was had by all!!!!

Well, I'm home and already wishing we could do it all over again. It was a great road trip...Christina and Brian have a beautiful home and are fantastic hosts, and Gee is the Queen of the Drivers!!! Yes, Gee drove the whole way, through blinding rain, pea-soup fog, and blindly following the gps, to get us to our destinations, including finding our way through Manhattan! Well, since I always forget all the details, I'll just give a quick recap of our little Manhattan fun weekend. We settled ourselves into the little (very tiny but workable) apartment in Manhattan that Christina's friend graciously allowed us to 'rent'. Then we went off to the theater district to get our bearings and figure out the lay of the land and the best places for food, lol. Gee, Darrell, and I had tickets already and we had hoped I could use my student ID to get Christina a ticket...no luck...but she managed to get some kind of discount on a last minute tickets so was able to see the show. We were sitting near the back but the theater is so small it was still good. The audience was ok, and we tried to get them going at the appropriate places but it's hard to do that from the back. The show was very good, but seemed just a tad flat, although MiG, Dan, and Rebecca were sharp. Of course we went to the stage door and greeted all the cast and they are all so accommodating and sweet. MiG looks great as always, although he could use a few pounds, but that's just the mom in me, lol. It was great to chat up the cast and Gee gave the Canadians in the cast a special little giftie from Canada. After stage door, we did the usual ... finding a place for food and beverage! Then back to the pad to crash. Sunday it was back to the theater district, and brunch. Then off the to theater, and Gee had already conned, er I mean convinced the ticket booth guy to give a discount to Christina. She ended up with a fantastic seat, only 2 rows behind us and on the aisle. Our seats were in the first full row, right across the point of the stage. The show was really sharp, the cast was red hot and 'on". Since we were up front, and had clued in all our neighbors, our little area could get the whole audience to jump right in at the right places, and that really revs up the cast! We wore our got MiG tee shirts and the whole cast could see them, lol. We also wanted to give Rebecca a rose at the end. Oh but we forgot to buy a rose!!!!! Oh no!!! So at intermission, we dashed out of the theater, ran to the Marriott Hotel to ask the concierge where to buy a rose...they sent us near the right place but we had to ask at another place to find the florist...then Gee suggested 2 roses, so we could give Dan one....so we got the roses and ran...literally...back to the theater. Of course, we then discovered that we had gone in a big circle and could have just gone down the block straight. But no problem, we had the roses and got back just in time. The show was just too fantastick, the audience responded so well to them and I think we really did help get the clapping and yelling off to quick starts. So at the end of the show they come back out for their individual bows, and Dan and Rebecca come right up to the point where we are sitting...and we were able to reach up and hand them the roses as they bowed down. They were quite surprised but seemed very pleased! Success. Of course, after the show we went for food, lol. Then back for the night show...and taking the cue from Mary Beth and Kay, we had laid in a supply of bubble wrap. Of course at the appropriate place, we reached up and popped it! Great reaction from the stage and we found out later that the whole audience could see and hear it. In fact, as we left the show, someone asked us if were were the bubble wrap girls. Earlier an usher recognized us as the flower girls. Wonder if we will ever be allowed back in, lol. So of course we went to stage door to say our good byes to the cast and especially to MiG. Always a bittersweet time. Then back to the pad, pack up the car, and then the drive home from hell...omg, Gee had to negotiate everything but snow! We didn't get on the upper deck of the George Washington Bridge like we wanted, so had to blindly follow the gps again...and then it started raining...then pouring...then fog, then pea soup fog....then finally near Christina's it all cleared up and we made it home. Phew. OK, enough rambling...Gee can add what I've forgotten, flesh out the details, and correct the errors! She will have to do the pics, I never took my camera out once. I know, bad me.

Hi again!!!
Seems I've had little time to drop in at night to get the pix up and toni's having issues with her puter......as soon as I can I will -- promise!!!!! (and I'm sorry for the delay!!)
First of all can I 'fix' a typo in my first post - can't get an edit button Joel is of course a member of Night RANGER not rider as I posted -- I've done that twice now -- grrrr!!!!
Ah toni I have to take notes to respond and fill in the blanks - lol....and I will - soon.
The Brit accent - and it IS Brit and not Oz (although I thought I heard a bit of Oz sneek in from time to time) is interesting - the lines (same words) are delivered slightly differently and it's really cool if you are familiar with Brit terms etc - not sure that it would be that easy for everyone if they're not used to it but he does a very good London type accent so it is easier to understand than say cockney - his punch line at the end of the makes it ALL worth it anyway!! heehee......
The more he lives in the USA, the less 'accent' he seems to have and I've missed that so this was really fun for me and it certainly grows on you as part of the show!!!!
LMAO.....I just re-read your post MB - OTHER than the accent -- well - I have to say that I LOVE Dan - he is an incredible Drew - his facial expressions are sincere and child like which is what his character requires - he sings magnificently!!! He and Rebecca have a great chemistry - as do MiG and Becca - so it all works VERY well -- there are SEVEN cast members from Toronto so -- I'm partial - they were awesome - and Toni understudied for Dennis on Sunday - WOW - he NAILED it! I love Chris in the tour band but Joel is as much fun to 'play' with when you're in the front row! (he even came over and handed me his pick instead of tossing it into the crowd!)......over all - I would say that although I have enjoyed each and every performer in every show I've ever seen, if we put Patrick, Nick and even Travis from the tour onto Broadway with the cast as I saw it on Sunday, they would have their perfect show!!!!!! hugs gee

OH MB you need to go -- it's just SO much fun -- I remember Toni leaning over to me on Sunday saying something about Joel actually watching us for 'cues' and one time we actually missed one and he gestured to us to get it going - lol........yes we had a GREAT time getting the audience going!!! Sure helps when you've seen it once or *cough* twice or *cough* sixteen times!!! lol..........
Further recap - oh Toni - I dunno - we literally ran into Abe in the walk through between the Marriott and the theatre!!! If you're on ROA FB, you'll know who I'm talking about. That was fun!
OMG the bathroom!!!! ah what? three stalls for everyone??? we found out (and don't tell anyone) from Tony that if you need to 'go' at intermission, they have an 'agreement' with SARDI's -- can you imagine??!!! I was dying to go in there but you have to lay a mortgage payment just to get a glass of water - lol......we could have just walked right in there to use their facilities!
Did I mention that Toni was interviewed for NBC NY channel 7??? yes she was!!! dunno if it ever aired but we got nabbed for a Q&A about hotel security on our way to Times Square on Sunday morning!!!
The bubble wrap - oh that was FUN - thanks MB and Kay for that one! when we popped it on Sunday night Tony was understudying -- we'd noticed that the cast does NOT interact with the audience like the tour does - not sure if that's a function of a NYC 'rule' or the Lonny on Broadway just doesn't - or more that there just isn't the 'heckling' (good and bad) going on like I've seen on tour.....anyway it was SO obvious and so surprising to 'Lonny' that he actually stopped talking, looked over and asked if that was 'real' bubble wrap! LOL.....I held it straight up in the air and they just cracked up -- I can't remember exactly what he said but it was something hilarious!
At the end of the day we had a fantastic time - we got Christina IN and since we couldn't get her in the front row -- not bad getting her on 'drunk row' eh toni? heehee.......the weather mostly held out - I won't comment on the drive - OMG that was interesting!
Oh and then we met the naked cowgirl - oh yes we did -- fully dressed by then but yes we had seen her in all her glory in Times Square. Lesson to me to never judge without information -- for all her years of 'experiences' (she is not a young spring chicken) she is really quite a clever woman with interesting views on life!
Miss the show already!
hugs gee

So I posted some pictures in the thread! So I will put some other pics here. Gee and Josie Gee with the new promo poster Gee and a New York Dog View of the little apartment taken from the front door...yes it was tiny but it was in Manhattan and convenient. You can see the little front room past the curtains. Darrell and I in the bedroom. Gee and Christina in the little bedroom...so the whole apt. is the little hallway kitchen, the front room, the bedroom (you can see the size of the room as that poster covers the whole wall, corner to corner), a couple closets and a tiny bathroom...very New York, lol A pic Gee took of me, Christina, and Darrell in Times Sq.
