Chris is also pretty cute. At first when he was the first to volunteer and did such a great job, I was thinking he would do really really well on the show but I feel bad for him since he took Roxanne when no one wanted it and then he sang it and couldn't get the pitch quite right. That has to be a very challenging song, I just hope it doesn't hurt his chances because I really like him. Yeah, I really like Chris too. I heard he didn't do well at the taping though. Some said he "crashed and burned." But I think Supernova really liked it when he was the first volunteer to sing in the studio, and he did well there. So, hopefully they'll keep him around... So far, I also like Toby (the Aussie) and Lukas (the scary-looking one who seems really nice and funny!). Sophia and Ames -- can you believe it? #thblissysmile# And that is only a couple weeks away! I wonder who "The M's" are that are performing the same night as MiG. Anyone heard of them? #IDunno#

Just finished watching the reality episode. Looks like a good group this time around. It sure did bring back memories though. Hearing all the same music when they panned around the place and stuff. I was also surprised to hear them using New Sensation for the beginning. It's actually an appropriate song but i figured since it's an INXS song that they would come up with something different this season. Watching them all toast with those red glasses really brought back some good memories though.... I wonder who's sleeping in MiG's bed I really think Ryan should have had to sing like the rest of them. Oh well he's not off to a very good start. Doesn't look like anyone was interested in bunking with him. Joyce I saw that link to win tickets too. MiG and Marty Casey and the Lovehammers #happy036# Sounds exciting don't know if I would be able to go if I were to be so lucky and win so I'm not sure if I'm going to enter or not. I sure hope Chris makes it through...crash and burn....oh no I think him stepping up and singing first should count for something. Peyton I agree about Zayra. I think she could be the first to go too. Looking forward to Wednesday.

I wonder who's sleeping in MiG's bed Ha ha, Cheryl... that thought crossed my mind too! So, I found these pics from MiG's bedroom last year. I don't remember seeing the bedspread or headboard in this first show, but I could have missed them. Do they look familiar to anyone else? I was also surprised they are still using "New Sensation" as the song! It does fit the theme of the show, but I thought they might come up with something else. On short notice I probably wouldn't be able to go to that concert (or Marty's) either, so I probably won't enter. Hope the winner is someone we know! Check this out, see the "MiG's Exclusives" link (Lily posted this at MC): rockstar.vzwshop.com/

I don't think I will register. I barely have enough time to keep up with the MiG boards.

Hi Everyone, If you do register and intend to do some Street Teaming, please be careful what you post. This is a post from Stevo47...the Lead Moderator of the message boards: Apparently, he's been deleting references to other fan sites and web sites already. So, while we can talk about MiG all we want to...if we direct people to his myspace or to Team MiG, we run the risk of the entire post being deleted.

2006-07-04 11:55:56 Here we go again…
As most of you might know I am the Rock Star Reality Episode Reporter! And Will is doing a hula (well not really) knowing I am back to my Moody self! Last year, Dusty recruited me to do the dirty job of passing judgement on the Rockers who participated on Rock Star INXS and trust me I had a ball doing just that! So with that intro, let me first rant a little!
Last year, the Reality Episodes were moved to VH1, because of the low ratings, but this year one has to see that part of this show online! Now, this would not be a bad deal, if the connection was good, but the buffering and pauses irritate the heck out of me!
Anyway, as one of my friends always says “You can’t go to heaven unless you die!” I wonder why that came to my mind; however, I will admit that after hearing that – heaven does not sound that great!
Ok, I strayed – my point was that if I have to report on ROCK STAR SUPERNOVA, I have to endure the pain of excruciatingly slow connection.
Ok, before I start the recap, I have to wonder about one more thing; does this recap make any sense if one can see the whole darn thing online? I will leave that to the fans – y’all decide whether I should continue with this recap!
Shall we start? Great! Let’s go!
Rock Star Supernova – otherwise known as The Tommy Lee Project starts with a bang and is followed by loads of cheers! Now, I know of one other Tommy Lee’s projects that was based in reality and that too had a bang (albeit a different kind) and I know it received numerous cheers as well, but this time around the only thing that he will be banging (at least I hope so) would be the drums – so my advice is – don’t expect an encore presentation from him on this show. You have to admit that this was too good to resist – anyway, let’s move on…
Tommy Lee tells us in a voiceover that they (as in trio of Supernova) have performed on numerous stages and they are looking to bring a whole other level to the party and their mission is to find an amazing Rock Star and we see Tommy’s face! Yay!
Jason Newsted explains in voiceover that Tommy Lee and Gilby Clarke and he were good friends for years and informs us that Tommy called him asking him if he wanted to be in his band! The Tommy Lee Project – get it?
Tommy states Supernova is a clash of stars – they (the trio) have been in extremely successful and powerful rock bands! He furthers that Jason Newsted was in Metallica, Gilby Clarke was from Guns n Roses and he was from Motley Crew and this clash would result in the emergence of Supernova!
Gilby Clarke explains that Supernova is not a heavy metal band – although their roots are in that genre – he states that they want to have versatility as far as Supernova’s sound is concerned!
Tommy says that now all they need is a great voice – a new rock star and Jason states that they have narrowed the field to fifteen contestants from twenty five thousand applicants from all over the world! And Jason states that he is confident that one of those fifteen would lead them – you don’t say!
Tommy informs how the rock star would be fronting the band on albums, concert tours, etc, etc! Actually, he says that the winner would be thrust in the fast-lane and hopes that they have brought their helmet and we see a chick wearing a helmet and riding the bike! The chick states in a voiceover that it is a huge deal to be part of the band! Now, that’s an edit!
We see a guy in cab who states that he is not sure what Supernova is looking for – oh, I am going to have fun with this one – he is called Ryan Star, by the way!
We see a bald guy with French beard talking about his rock background in Iceland! And how he never thought he would get a chance to play with Supernova!
Next we see an extremely pretty gal talking about huge opportunities – my dear lord – she is HOT!
We see an Aussie bloke packing what seems like Aussie flag in his bag – why you ask? I have no clue!
And guess what, we finally come down to the title song and it is – wait for it – New Sensation! And you thought INXS ended their term with J.D. Fortune winning – not by a long short – by the way, I have been the worst critique of J.D. but I will admit that those who have gone for INXS concert have reported that in person, he actually is amazingly entertaining and a nice bloke – too bad that the edit ruined him for many, including me!
Ok, coming back to the theme / title song – no names were given as introduction – but I think that this bunch has some really good looking people! I wished at that point that they are equally talented – well, I found out but more about that later!
Hollywood – Pulse Studio and we see the trio jamming – while producer of the band - Butch Walker and the rockers look on…
Dana Andrews, who looks like Rachel Bilson’s elder sister is psyched to see the trio in action and she gushes about the trio!
Ok, don’t hate me but I have to be a little nasty – I observed that Tommy Lee makes faces even when he is banging the drums!
Magni from Iceland (you know the bald guy with French beard or goatee) liked the jam as well and he thought that it would be an excellent track!
Jill Gioia – who just might be Will’s next crush, is impressed as well!
Butch Walker informs the trio that the contestants have arrived and Tommy is extremely happy and he states that it is so cool that the contestants got to hear and see them in action from the other side of the glass!
Tommy states “Welcome Kids!” – “Supernova is officially in the house!” I know there is a joke somewhere in here, but… oh well! The kids cheer! Then Tommy throws a bomb (not really) by asking, “Who’s down to rock some vocals?”
The rockers were stunned – hello? They did know they are auditioning for a competitive singing reality show, right? Why are they bashful? Oh well, after showing blank to shocked expressions on the rockers’ faces – someone volunteers – much to the trio’s delight! Gilby states that they (contestants) would be tested at every stage of the competition, the whole summer!
Matt Hoffer, who looks a little like Mario Cadenas of Project Runway, explains that they were asked to come up with a chorus and verse for the song and that was a little difficult! But he concurs that the rockers have to be ready at any given time because one has to write lyrics for the album, etc and if one cannot do that – the person is not suitable in a band! Ok, Mattie, I like you – so I would not rag on you, but you better practice what you preach! P.S. me gal likes you!
The rocker who volunteers is Chris Pierson! He states he jumped in, when other contestants were scared and with everyone watching him, he performs after exchanging a few words with Butch Walker, who states it was Chris’ time and he can shine as he pleases assuming what he wants!
Verdict? He was good – I mean considering the time crunch – the rockers and trio were impressed and enjoying themselves! Ok, of all the rockers, the one who assumed a brooding posture was Ryan Star – I told you I am going to have fun with one! Also noticeable was a guy who reminded me a lot of Shifty Shellshock of Crazy Town!
Surprisingly, Ryan was extremely complimentary and he informs that it takes a lot of courage to go first and he thought Chris had great guts to go first and this action lead to others showing their chops!
Next, we hear Jill – I think Jason said it best when he said that Jill was not even 5 feet, but she was like a stick of dynamite – boom – explosion! Oh yeah, even Shifty look-alike was impressed! Gilby also climbed the Jill love-train and said she got the tune and he liked her flow! I loved her because I have a thing for screechy voices!
Oh my god! No, wait – make that OH MY GOD! Because next in line was Zayra Alvarez – No – just – No! What was that? Gilby goes, “Zayra was interesting – I didn’t get her, what she was wearing, what she was singing, etc” – I think Gilby was too kind! Although, I must add that I think she was going for that school gal uniform thingy, but man, that was not just painful – that was so painful that I wanted to poke my eyes with my finger and reach my brain and churn my brain with my fingers to numb the pain!
“It Was Terrible!” = Understatement of the century!
I must add that it was a comic relief, because the looks on Supernova’s faces (especially Jason’s) and contestants’ faces were like, “Are you * kidding me with this?” It was priceless!
Then I think everybody started laughing and when she came out they cheered for her!
And what was more priceless was the fact that she was blissfully in denial and thought she rocked to please! She said she enjoyed herself and that equates to great performance and she was satisfied. Jason almost gave her a stink eye before he shook his head in what I perceive was disbelief!
Next the Aussie bloke took the stage and Butch Walker asked him where in Australia was he from and he said “Melbourne, Mate!” Ok, Toby Rand, we get it – you are an Aussie! Just wondering – why was MiG Ayesa not invited to take part in this competition! I miss him! No one gets to hear how Toby performs!
Magni took the microphone and said that he composed the lyrics ten minutes prior and someone said many great lyrics were penned in last ten minutes! He is not half bad – although I just heard very little so can’t yet pass any judgement!
Jason was happy to note that the contestants were getting confident and they were relaxing noting the fact that they were not under great scrutiny!
The mood was getting challenging and apparently they heard lovely performances!
Josh Logan performed, followed by Storm Large, Phil Ritchie, who strangely reminds me of Jared Leto, went in without any lyrics and impressed the heck out of everyone with this gutsy move by humming some melodies and may I add – it was fantastic! Patrice Pike was extremely impressed and she thought Phil was extremely cool! I agree Patrice!
Ok, here’s the thing – everyone performed except brooding Ryan Star – when Supernova wondered if everyone had a go – Ryan Star decided that to have a separate identity, he would not sing! JACKASS!
Jason asked Ryan Star to perform and he goes, “I have nothing!” You dumb dummy – if Phil went in with no lyrics and yet impressed them, what was your problem!
Mattie said that though it was Ryan’s strategy, he did not think that it worked in Ryan’s favour! He was right! See, I already like Mattie!
Jason stated that this was a first impression deal – this was his chance to present himself and he should have grabbed the horns like everyone else did and added that all the other are on a higher plane but Ryan was below – well, I think y’all get what he meant!
Tommy was impressed by all who performed and added that it was a great session but it was time to go to the Rock Star Mansion. The contestants cheered, but Gilby informed them that they had a performance the next night and with worldwide voting procedure, one contestant would go home each week!
Mattie, the voice of reason stated that when Supernova announced that someone was going home each week, it reinforced the notion that the game was on and everyone needs to step it up!
Jason reminded that by the end of three months audition, the winner would front the band on albums, tours – ok, y’all know what was said – I don’t want to repeat it!
Everyone cheered and thus ended the first part! Yeah, few more to go!
Rockers went to Rock Star Mansion and everyone was joyful including me…
Memories… light the corner of my minds…
Oops, wrong song for a Rock Mansion! But doesn’t it remind y’all of the rockers last year?
Storm Large – ok, I hate the name – was ecstatic! Yeah Stormy – this is your house for next few weeks / months!
Ok, the mansion is beautiful, no doubt and what happens in Rock Star Mansion? Yes, you are right – they drink! So Chris tells us that seeing the food and champagne, they decided to have a drink!
Shifty look-alike makes a toast, “May the best person for the job come on top!” Ok, Shifty look-alike’s name is Lukas Rossi – Luke for short! He introduces himself to Phil and asks Phil if he was going to kiss him and Phil says yes and Luke plants one on the cheek, while Phil kisses the air! Feel free to assume whatever; I thought it was sporting of Phil!
Jenny Galt says that anticipation to meet the others was so high that it felt like it exploded – don’t look at me, I am typing this word for word!
Toby introduced himself by saying – I am from Australia, where dingo ate my baby! That’s strike two! What’s next? Shrimp on the Barbie? Please!
Dana introduced herself as a redneck! No comments!
Jill introduced herself as an Italian, who loves to cook sauce!
Luke introduced himself and said I am not going to get up as I am lazy and added I came here to win! I am not sure if the others were oohing or booing – seriously, they sound so alike! But the expressions were telling – they all were not happy to hear that – although it was true!
Storm noted that just like that the competition was on…
After that the alliances were formed and people started finding rooms and roommates! As Dana noted that after the introduction – they branched off and that’s when the rooms started happening!
Magni and Mattie decided to room together and Magni stated that finding a room was not difficult and he got the best room and best roommate – Matt! Who apparently does not snore, I wonder how Magni found that out, but I agree Mattie is best! Ok fine, I admit I have a little man-crush on Mattie! Sue me! I think he is a very nice guy! Oy! I am in trouble I have a favourite already!
Ryan Star is roaming around the mansion and we see Patrice and Jill checking out the gold, platinum records trophies in awe!
Toby declares to Lukas that he has found a room for both of them and they go to a room which had a keg of beer and Toby states he was going to have the first beer from the keg! Strike Three!
Toby and Luke both had beer and then Toby was seen telling Chris and Phil that he found room and Luke stated it was a Men’s Room – that cracked me up because it came off rather funny than MCPish! No women allowed in this room bro – said the great Luke! What century is he from?
Next seen was Ryan Star – sigh! He is still roaming around and cannot find a bloody room as most are taken! He informs us that everyone took off and found their rooms before he could get there! What happened? You went in a coma for few hours? Come on, how hard is it to find a room in such a mansion?
Ryan than asked Jill and Dilana, if everyone should gather and discuss if someone was unhappy… to which Dilana literally goes “HUH?” and starts laughing! Ryan wonders if anyone wants to bed with him or something, to which Dilana states, “No Dude, that’s not happening!”
Ryan states it seems like I am starting as a loner in this group, which is fine! Ok, I am a little on a fence because I cannot make out what Ryan’s problem is! Either he is a great reality television tool or he is genuinely a very insecure dude, who is too sensitive! I know I already pounced on him but he is a little misleading!
He finds a room with three beds and the beds are small for him – his feet dangle! Now here’s something I don’t get, why doesn’t he exchange the room with guys who are shorter!
Anyway, while Ryan sleeps on his small bed – rest are seen mingling! Thus ends the second part!
Toby – the adventurer finds the Supernova Room in which the music sheets are pinned on the board! After checking the songs and deciding on what songs he wanted – Toby tells the guys that he found the songs list and everyone rushes to check out the list!
Ok, I am not getting into who said what about the song lists as it is boring but Jenny is struck with a stomach flu and she does not want to leave the room – Storm tells others that she needs to write down the names of the songs – so that Jenny can make her choice! Storm is cool gal! I liked that!
Jenny is shown get on the bed with her shoes still on… Anyway, I don’t get why Storm pushed the list of song from under the door – but Jenny appreciated it! Storm asks Jenny if she knows the Nickelback song and then Storm sang the song for Jenny, when she asked how the song went! Nice!
Ok, here’s the weird part – Storm does not go in the room, but there is a cameraman in that room – what’s happening? Surely stomach flu is not contagious, is it?
Josh Logan – God Bless Him! Finally gets some air time as he and Patrice I think lock horns as to who gets to sing, “She Talks To Angels” and as a solution play Paper, Rock and Scissors! Dilana and Phil arm-wrestle and Phil is the winner – DUH! He goes what’s up? What’s up with that? Hello, you beat a gal; I would not dance at that! Ok, Toby was on the floor doing push-ups and I am sure that I don’t want to know why! Josh states that at this stage no one was taking song selection seriously!
Ryan, Ryan, Ryan – we hear a voiceover that he was happy not being a part of what was going on – read fun! He furthers by saying that once people notice that people are leaving, they would take song selection seriously!
Two words – SHUT UP!
Seriously, what’s your problem man? I get it, brooding is your middle name, but stop being such a wet blanket! Enjoy, life is freaking too short! Besides, all this talk just reminds me of sour grapes!
Anyway, Chris decides to take on Roxanne because he thinks it is a great challenge and it is out of his comfort zone – other words – it is risky! I like Chris, but the song is actually too big for him! I love Mattie, because he is like helping Chris, playing the guitar and joining him in chorus! Matt states that he is working with Chris and he thinks Roxanne is tough for anybody!
While practicing Chris hits some bum notes and Toby is watching him with a horrid look on his face and Matt kind of smiles as Chris struggles! Magni also vouches that Roxanne is one of the hardest songs and he thinks that Chris might be in trouble!
Chris states that he is starting to regret his decision!
Elsewhere, after dark, we see a lonely character strumming the guitar and lo and behold – it is Star – Ryan Star to be precise! He lets us know that he selected Iris but he wishes he could have had a more rocking song as he needs to prove himself as he was the only one who did not sing at the studio! Whose fault was that? And also after the lecture on song selection, why did you select a slow song? I don’t get it!
God, if he continues like this – I will fall in love with J.D. Fortune! Ok, I am going too far! Ahem!
Ok, Ryan has a nice voice – I will give him that and the show ends with shots of other rockers while Ryan sings, “I just want you to know who I am!
The clip ends with Lukas and Dilana performing a duet for Supernova at the studio! darn, both have great pipes!
Ok, now I am posting the list of who sang what – don’t read if you don’t want to be spoiled! In alphabetical order – last name first!
Zayra Alvarez – Bring Me to Life Dana Andrews – I’m the Only One Dilana – Lithium Jenny Galt – How You Remind Me Jill Giola – Piece of My Heart Matt Hoffer – Yellow Storm Large – Pinball Wizard Josh Logan – She Talks to Angels Magni – Satisfaction Chris Pierson – Roxanne Patrice Pike – Somebody to Love Toby Rand – Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door Phil Ritchie – Cult of Personality Lukas Rossi – Rebel Yell Ryan Star – Iris
Ok, I will admit that this took a long time and is extremely long recap, but I decided to go in details, because I am not sure how many would actually watch it online!
Thanks for reading!
Hope to see most of y’all tomorrow when Curlio takes over the performance night!
Till then Cheers!

Okay - let me get this straight...
The "Mansion" portion of Supernova is only available online?
Well, that leaves me out - can't get any video stream on my connection!
And, IS MiG going to appear on the show? If so, I certainly hope it's on the televised portion - can anybody tell me?

If you cant get streaming, then you can always go to rockband or twoP and read recaps. I am not going out of my way to watch the reality part unless I hear that MiG is going to make an appearance. It still annoys me how they edited to make things seem different than they really were.

Probably because of the holiday yesterday. If I am wrong about this, I apologize. I think you're right about those days, Nancy. I'm guessing next week's shows will be an hour long? Tonight's episode is 90 minutes. Hey, it won't be long now... Should be starting in about 10 minutes for those of you out East, right? #wootrock# Sandy, I did really enjoy the reality episode but without a high-speed connection I think it would be difficult to watch. I had a few problems with it, where the audio kept going but the video occasionally stopped. Maybe they'll work out these problems before the next one... Sure would be nice if they showed them on VH1 like last year.
