Hey, Ames (and anyone else who loves vampires)-
There's a new show on CBS on Friday nights at 9 p.m. Eastern Time called MOONLIGHT. The main character, Mick St. John, is a private eye who also happens to be a vampire. He's sexy and so very cool.
Today, when I did a little more exploring about the actor that plays Mick, this was part of his bio...no wonder I was instantly attracted to him (although the character speaks with an American accent): G’day mate! Aussie Alex O'Loughlin gets his chance to shine in North America as Mick St. John, a modern day vampire who is also a private investigator in the drama Moonlight. Yeah, we know, we’ve seen the do-gooder vampire P.I. before (Angel), but it looks like this sexy newcomer from Down Under may breathe new life into the dead.
Friday will be the fourth show so I hope it stays around long enough to go to DVD cos I will DEFINATELY buy it...this guy is so hot... and so is his best friend/mentor who is a 400-year-old vampire named Josef Konstantin (and played by Jason Dohring who was on Veronica Mars on UPN).
Give it a look-see if you want to see a good looking Aussie that even looks good when he becomes a vampire.

#clap# #clap# YAY!
Finally, a show I can talk about. I love this one. I hate the name (even though it is appropriate) because I keep remembering Cybil & Bruce in Moonlighting #1087# Up until now, all the TV discusssions are about shows that I don't watch... it was looking like I didn't have anything in common with you guys anymore

Hey, Rose-
Moonlight is on tonigh after Ghost Whisperer (which I don't watch). This looks like a really good show to see, too. The previews show him in deep trouble and the mortal girl he's in love with forces him to take her blood so he doesn't die. This is the fourth episode so it's time to get rid of her lawyer boyfriend (not necessarily kill him but just get rid of him) cos she NEEDS to be with Mick...that's all I gotta say. I can hardly wait the next 3 hours til it's on here.

I'm so glad you like the show...I wasn't impressed with the title either but, what the hey! The last Aussie I saw staring in a vampire tv show was Rick Springfield in a made for tv movie called Nick Knight that they later turned into a late night weekly series with another actor in the role which I didn't watch...give me Rick or nobody. so what do ya'll think? I watched part of Moonlight tonight - however I was too engrossed in the Next Great American Band to watch the whole thing... I thought it was fair... but I'm gonna rewatch the pilot and tonights show on the net (CBS)... P.S. - I still like Dresden Files better ... I have to go look and see when they come on this season!

Hey Ames, Moonlight took me a bit to get hooked. This was my 3rd (4th?) so, now I'm hooked. Each show has slowly told more about him, his background, etc and each show has explained more about the blond... give it time. To me, it is a GREAT show.

Ames, in the pilot you discover that Mick has watched over Beth since she was a little girl. His vampire bride, Coroline kidnapped Beth and Mick had to destroy Coroline to rescue her. He doesn't want her to know what he is and tries to hide it but she finds out at the end of episode 2 and is now fascinated and attracted to him...as could be seen in last night's episode... I can't wait til she tells her boyfriend to hit the road and teams up with Mick permanently. Rose, I love the fact that he can be outside for a period of time and not burst into flames...seems like they're drawing, in a real stretch of the imagination, on The Vampire Masquerade which is a role playing game in the vein of Dungeons and Dragons. I just may be forced to begin writing Mick St. John fiction if this show doesn't go my way...And I'm not good at writing LOL.

Last night's episode was much better than the others...I'm still not happy that Beth is till with Josh but I can see her being drawn more toward Mick each week. This show just isn't moving as fast as I'd like.

I didn't get to see it cause we went into the city for Ursela Bielski's Chicago GHOST TOURS. The tour was from 10p - 1a and because we live so FAR out in the outer out burbs (boonies) we left the house at 7:45p. Glad to know I didn't miss anything. I hope the show improves as I really do like Mick St. John.

Someone was dealing vampire blood in crystals like a drug and it gave humans who took it the feelings of being a vampire with increased senses, etc. Beth went to Mick's aprtment and tried to seduce him. He put her in the shower, fully clothed and she kept begging him to changge her. Once the drug was out of her system she was her old self again and couldn't believe how she had acted. She didn't throw away the rest of the drug though. She hid it from Josh so it may come into play again and I don't think Mick is going to be able to resist her advances...he's weakening. And with the writer's strike coming on Monday I hope we get to see reruns so I can tape them. Wanda

And the next time I don't think Mick will be able to resist her. He almost couldn't this time. Now, if they just continue shows like this one it'll be great. And, if you go to www.lifetimetv.com you can check out the back episodes of Blood Ties. I can't remember if you have to search for it or if it has a link on the home page but do yourself a favor and give it a look. You'll especially enjoy Season 1, ep 1&2 (The premiere was a two-parter) and Season 1 ep 7&8 Then Season 2, episode 2 called 5:55. It's a Groundhog Day type show and I LOVE the ending.

Wanda, I'll definitely check out Blood Ties, thanks so much for the links. I may not have the time until Tuesday --- when hubby goes back to work. But, I will definitely take a look. Poor Mick, he really has tried to resist Beth. Silly, silly vamp
