#1381# I don't think there is a sweeter, more caring collective group of people in the world that could ever touch all of you! Thanks for your encouraging words and prayers. We found out today that it is in the kidney and lungs. The biopsy will tell where the origin is. We are praying that it's from the kidney (that's more treatable/curable) Mary Beth, Cheryl, I'm keeping you and your families in my prayers too.

Rhonda, I am so sorry to hear that there is metastasis with your father-in-laws cancer. He is lucky to have such a supportive daughter in law like you. I hope that despite the mets, that he has a good prognosis with treatment. I will say some prayers for him and for your family. #bearhug# #kissy# Cheryl, I hope your sister is getting a bit stronger each day and that she also responds well to her treatment and will continue to pray for you and your sister also. Here is a poem I read years ago and have shared it with several friends during their fight with this monster. Cancer is so limited It cannot cripple love It cannot shatter hope It cannot erode faith It cannot eat away peace It cannot destroy confidence It cannot kill friendship It cannot shut out memories It cannot silence courage It cannot invade the soul It cannot reduce eternal life It cannot quench the spirit It cannot lesson the power of the resurrection For those of you who have offered support to me, thank you. I am fine in comparison to what Cheryl and Rhonda's family are dealing with. Like Kimbo, I have a pretty bad back and sometimes the pain is pretty bad after a hard day at work, but working at a hospital, I can tell that I have much to be grateful for and it puts things well into perspective for me. My 16 year old Jeff has mono and has felt pretty bad the past week, hopefully it will be a 6 week course of the disease without spleen or liver complications. I hope all is well with our other Team MiG sisters(and you too Craig) Rhonda, you are so right about what a wondreful group of people are here at TM! xoxo for all! MB

[glow=green,2,300]You make me laugh and make me smile You ease my troubles for a while When clouds are thick and skies are gray You put some sunshine in my day
You're really thoughtful sweet and kind A friend like you is hard to find I know I've told you once or twice That I think you are very nice
But someone who's as great as you Should be told more often than I do And so I send these words with love Why did I send them?.....just because![/glow] author unknown

Reading everyone's kind words to each other is giving me goosebumps. And Rhonda, I'm kicking up my prayers for your father-in-law a notch.
Mary Beth, unfortunately like many people, my family has been affected by cancer numerous times. Your poem is beautiful.

Cammy and Mary Beth, thanks for the beautiful poems! I don't know what I would have done this past year without my Team Mig friends! This is an amazing group. Rhonda, my mother had cancer and beat it. I pray your father-in-law will have a good prognosis. Mary Beth, my 16 year old daughter has been sick for over a month and now they think it is mono. I didn't know about possible liver and spleen complications (here goes my worry gene again!). I can't make her rest as much as she should (unless I ask for help with housework), although she sleeps much more than usual. That doesn't stop her from wanting to go out with her boyfriend. LOL! We are waiting for test results to come in. She also had her second wreck in a month, but wasn't hurt in either one, so we are fortunate (but broke!). I love you all! My prayers go out to all who are hurting and worried. xoxo Mary Lee

This seems like just the place for me to vent my frustration at what has been the day from hell for me: To start off, I have a cough and a sore throat. Second, I managed to over-sleep by an hour this morning. Not really a problem because although I usually get up at 6:30, I'm not out of the house til 8:20. It's just annoying because I hate it when I don't keep to a rhythm. If I do something regularly, I do it at more or less exactly the same time. Third, I get into work and my boss phones in sick. This is the only day in the week where I'm due in to work and he phones in sick. Great. Next I find out that my desk is now four inches shorter and my PC monitor etc has been dumped on the desk next to mine. I spend the next two hours putting my stuff back together can hooking everything up again. I then spend another two hours doing network cabling. If anybody has done this before, you know what it's like. You basically tie one end of a massive box of standard Ethernet cable to the longest pole you can find, move a ceiling tile (and so dislodging little specks of dust from the cheap material), put the pole into the ceiling, chuck the pole as far as you can, count the number of ceiling tiles and repeat the whole thing until you get to the destination. Thus, I end up covered in crap, annoyed and frustrated. To top it all, its Valentines Day. And I'm single. I spend most of the evening hacking my neighbour's wireless broadband router, drinking Orange Tango out of the bottle and watching a stand-up comedy DVD. Great. And so ends my day in Hell.

I've just been reading through this thread and just wanted to say that, like Rhonda said, i've never seen a group of people more caring and thoughtful than those right here!
I am keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers! I hope things will look better soon, I have faith they will!
Here's something that just seems so relevant to TM, hope you don't mind me sharing
Why I Love You
When my days seem darker And my nights feel colder I know you are there To lend me your shoulder
When my faith has fallen And my worthiness has gone I know you are the hand That pushes me along
When I feel like i'm lost and I can't find my way You are the map That guides me each day
When my esteem starts to weaken And it needs a little shove I know you are the heart that gives me the love.

Thanks to everyone for your well wishes for my sister and beautiful sentiments. I love all the poems and expressions of love and friendship.
I pray every day for all of you who have loved ones who have fallen to illness. May every one recover completely.
I will be staying with my sister for the next week helping care for her. Not sure how often it will be but I will try to visit the boards and often as possible.
I can't say enough about #teammig#. #bearhug# to all of you.
Cheryl

Aww, Craig, here's a hug from me too #bearhug#
Take it from someone who's spent plenty of Valentine's Days alone, someday the right person's going to come along, and the waiting will be sooo worth it!

Thanks guys, I really appreciate it It wasn't so much that I was alone on Valentines day that annoyed me. It was just the culmination (ooh, big word for me lol) of the entire day that left me feeling like crap. Thanks!
