After apparently being passed on by 19 Management, David Archuleta has signed a management contract with Azoff Management.
The American Idol seventh-season runner-up will be co-managed by Azoff's Jared Paul -- who also currently works with Nick Lachey and The New Kids on the Block, among others -- as well as Jeff Archuleta, his controversial father who managed him in his pre-Idol days, Entertainment Weekly reported Tuesday evening.
Azoff Management also counts The Eagles, Christina Aguilera, Neil Diamond, and Morrissey among its musical clients, according to EW.
While American Idol's participation contract gives 19 Management (the management arm of 19 Entertainment, which produces the show along with FremantleMedia North America) an option to sign former American Idol finalists, Archuleta isn't the first Idol runner-up the firm has passed on.
In addition to Archuleta, 19 Management has previously passed on former American Idol runner-ups Diana Degarmo, Bo Bice, and Katharine McPhee. The firm did opt to initially sign runner-ups Justin Guarini, Clay Aiken and Blake Lewis, however it no longer manages any of them.
Despite signing with Azoff, Archuleta is still signed with 19 Recordings (19 Entertainment's record label), according to EW. The label is currently overseeing the production of Archuleta's first album, which will drop November 11.

Hey! Thanks for the Archuleta thread. And speaking of 'New Artists' , Details Magazine chose David as one of the new male solo artists with a high probability of making it. I'm really liking this kid!

I agree. He has true talent and is a good person. He deserves to make it big. I hope he gets rid of his aw shucks kind of reaction to praise but doesn't get conceited and bigheaded. I do like his humility-and his voice

And, if anyone is keeping up with this: VH1's Top 20 Video Countdown had a new #1 today. Knocking Daughtry out of the #1 spot in only his third week on the countdown, David Archuletta's Crush. There are currently 4 Idol contenstants with songs on the countdown, Jennifer Hudson, Jordon Sparks, Daughtry and David A. I almost turned it off last year when we had Carrie Underwood, Daughtry, Bo Bice, Jennifer Hudson, Jordan Sparks and (shudder) Eliot Yamin on the countdown at the same time. Every one of Daughtry's songs has gone #1 on that countdown as have Jennifer Hudson's and Jordan Sparks.

David Archuleta appearance in Columbus!! Friday at the Dublin Coffman vs Upper Arlington Football game. He will be singing the National Anthem.
(Can't figure out why they would bring someone in to sing the NA on a regular Foorball Friday Night) Good for David though, there will probably be 7000 plus fans at that game. Dublin coffman is home of Brady Quinn-former Notre Dame quarterback now backup for the Browns and Upper Arlington is the home of Simon Fraser who played on the 2002 Ohio State National Championship team and is now playing for Atlanta

I wonder what sponsor would pay all that money for an AI singer! He will surely draw a ton of fans to the game!!!!

So it was really cold and pouring rain in columbus tonigh on tv it looked like he was singing in the rain but here it looks like he was under an umbrella. The kid can really sing the Anthem Here is a report from one of his fansites. The radio stationintroducing him was clueless introducing him as the new American Idol. David is cute tugging on their arm to correct them. I heard he was freezing and a bit terrified
David Archuleta sings National Anthem at Dublin Coffman•October 24, 2008 • 3 Comments David Archuleta sings the National Anthem at Dublin Coffman High School prior to the football game as he wraps up the day in Ohio. It was a very cold and rainy day and David can be seen shaking in his Ford Day Jacket. Several sites are reporting that there was like a stampede of people chasing David after his performance. Kinda reminds us all the era of Beatlemania.
check out all the rain coming down other info During one of the radio interviews, David confirms the following album info:
Regular–12 tracks Wal-Mart Exclusive–12 tracks plus Wal-Mart Bonus track Deluxe–12 tracks plus a few more tracks co-written by David

This brings back pleasant memories of traveling to Houston, TX to see MiG sing our National Anthem at a basketball game. Wasn't the first time he had sung it either!

Up until he sang, I thought he was in Dublin, Ireland . LOL This Dublin is a town just a couple miles from me. It isn't that big. If you are a golf fan, it is where Jnoted golfer Jack Nicklaus built the Nuirfield golf course. Thery have a famous tournament there every May. Jack is a local guy.

Hey all you Archie fans. Just thought I'd let those of you who have access to VH1 that David will be the guest on the Top 20 Video Countdown next weekend. For the first time in five weeks, Crush was knocked out of the top spot that it had held for four weeks, by Leona Lewis' Better In Time. For those of you who are interested in seeing the interview (which will probably be in the second hour cos I don't think Crush is going to fall out of the top 10 anytime soon, it's shown at 3 am EST and 9 am EST on Saturday then repeats at 8 am EST on Sunday. They also repeat it on Tuesday mornings but I'm not sure what time.
Enjoy it if you watch.

David's new CD droipped today. He had an appearance on the Today show. There were lots of young girls there to see him and he performed inside! Why?? I didn't see if they said why he wasn't outside and I only saw Crush. Did he sing anything else? Afterward I did see him outside talking to fans and signing things and getting pictures with fans. I was just surprised he didn't perfrom outside.
here is a review I found for his album 'David Archuleta' David Archuleta Archuleta's lovely, foggy R&B voice -- noticeably out of scale with his small body -- landed him a second-place finish on American Idol.
Innocence remains his stock in trade. It sounds strange when he sings "baby," but soon enough (in Angels) he's extolling someone's protection, love and affection (and then that someone turns out to be an angel).
As for human relations, he is as earnest as it gets. On Touch My Hand, he looks out onto the adoring crowd and doesn't think about royalties; he sees "the sparkle of a million flashlights," but only one face.
The music here, made by many producers and songwriters, averages out different forms of radio-format blandness, with tinges of Coldplay and Shania Twain. But the innocence remains intact.
