Nice that he is getting some exposure before the tour. Usually you only hear about Adam... still, lol!

Well, Adam IS receiving some kind of award in Cali today as well. I just can't remember what it is, some kind of Young Performer award. I think the publicity for Adam is only going to get worse before it gets better and Kris better learn to take every little piece of publicity he can grab while he can. I'll be curious to see which one of them gets their video/single out first. I'm thinking it's going to be an Archie/Cookie thing with Adam's first video coming out a week or two before Kris'. I'm hoping that Kris gets to do a video for some song other than No Boundaries though.

Here's some info I found on Kris:
Kris Allen appears to be signed to Jive, as you can see here, his single “No Boundaries” is listed on the latest Billboard chart as 19/Jive.
Jive, part of the Zomba Label Group, is known for it’s youth oriented and/or R&B acts like Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Jordin Sparks and David Archuleta. If it’s true, it’ll be interesting to see what they do with Kris, a singer/songwriter type noted for his strong arranging and interpretive skills.
I'll post the info about Adam in his thread.

I hope they let him have his way with the arrangments and stuff, rather than telling him what to do and how to do it.

This was on Yahoo yesterday:
Kris Allen talks abou this debut CD:
Kris Allen won hearts -- and votes -- to become the newest "American Idol." ET has the latest from the winner on his debut album and summer tour!
ET confirms the singer has been officially signed to 19 Recordings and will debut his first CD late this fall. An exact date has not been announced.
"As exciting as the last few months have been, I'm really looking forward to what is next," Kris tells ET. "I'm very grateful to be working with Simon Fuller and his team at 19 Entertainment, along with Barry Weiss and Jive Records on my debut album. Everyone's been asking me what it's going to sound like. It will be very similar to what you heard from me on the show -- definitely in the pop/rock genre. I can't wait to get started!"
The AI champ is currently on the charts with "No Boundaries," which currently ranks No. 23 on Billboard's Hot 100 Singles chart. He also has two other singles on the chart from his "Idol" performances, "Heartless" and "Ain't No Sunshine."
The 23-year old Conway, Arkansas native -- a pianist and self-taught guitar player -- will spend the summer on the upcoming 50-city American Idol 2009 Summer Tour. The tour begins July 5th in Portland, Oregon and ends on September 15th in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Nice that he is getting some publicity! Wonder if he will get an interview on 20/20 like Adam, lol. Prolly not, he isn't controversial enough. Not as interesting, either, lol.

I see that there is an ad at the top of some of the new artist pages showing that Kris Allen has his new CD available on iTunes now.

And I, for one, am not impressed with his first single release, a cover song called Live Like We're Dyin' (can't think who the origial group is but it IS NOT the Tim McGraw song of a similar name, thank goodness). In fact, someone on You Tube put up clips of most of the songs on Kris' cd and I wasn't at all impressed with them. They just sounded kinda middle of the road and bland.

I think he should have put out an original. Covers are not the best choice for new artists, IMHO. And yes, he is def quite middle of the road.

Yeah, it's pretty good but I just don't care for the song. I think they should have let him release one of his originals but then they didn't let Adam release an original either. Of the two I like the TWO releases Adam has better.
