Nancy, I was watching America's Got Talent, and they just had on a singer from Chicago...I'm no fan of country music, but he was fantastic, he sounded like any of the best country singers I've ever heard! Toni, we saw a bit of that. We didn't realize they were in Chicago because we didn't see the whole show. Country is not my cup of tea, but from what we did hear, he was pretty good. Back to MJ...that tribute concert is looking like it's going to happen. All the news channels and entertainment shows are talking about it today and the CEO of AEG was interviewed and he said they're working on it. And, maybe Mary Beth can answer this, but how is it that the nurse who MJ went to for diprovan, who also refused to give it to him...can be on TV speaking about this? Aren't there HIPPA laws preventing this? Or, if MJ didn't sign anything is she allowed to be talking about it?

I saw something on tv about that nurse...and it does seem odd that she would publicly say anything aobut what went on between MJ and her. She may not have signed anything, but still it's not very professional to be talking about a former patient, and on the telly!

While it's interesting that she is able to perhaps shed some light on what might have happened to MJ...couldn't she have privately contacted authorities? Although, sometimes the authorities dismiss people in sensational cases like this for being nut cases who just want to insert themselves into a story. This nurse does appear credible to me. I see both sides of this one.

Nancy I don't know the answer but it was certainly not the best thing to do. I can't imagine asking for diprovan. Great for anesthesia but not used much outside the or or ICU to pt on vents. Sure seems unethical for her to go to the media. I can't imagine anyone agreeing to give him that but then I am naive about some things

MIG posted this on his you tube site as a tribute to Michael Jackson "Recorded in Nottingham, UK on 17 May 2007 on the Thriller:Live! UK Tour. I post this as a tribute to Michael. He was one of the reasons I became a musician. May you be at peace. " She's Out of My Life www.youtube.com/watch?v=upKqSEGwvLA

I'm thinking that, unless documents were signed, the nurse isn't liable for speaking out (unless of course she had ever treated him) but it seems very unethical from a human standpoint to bring it out publically. HIPPA regulations only refer to TREATING professionals, I think. I could be wrong about that though. I know my responsibilities as an employee of the hospital with access to protected medical records I'm not allowed to talk about anything that goes on. Very confusing how she could do something like that.

I haven't cried like that for over two hours since my father passed away. Wow. What a service. I felt like I was at MJ's funeral. Just when I thought it was over, Paris speaks about her dad. Total puddle. His children are absolutely beautiful. I think they look like the Jackson family. There was a resemblance there. I know there are rumors that they're not his biological children, but I sure did see a resemblance.

I agree, Nancy. The two older ones def look like they are genetically Michael's. I couldn't really tell about Blanket. The kids are quite beautiful. It is so sad for them.

I thought Blanket looked the most like a Jackson of all the kids. Paris and Prince look so much alike.

Blanket does have all that black hair, but I hadn't really seen his face all that well. I hope there isn't a big bad custody battle, that all parties can come to an agreement that works best for the kids.

I had just gone to bed and was sitting up reading the paper (yes, I don't get to read the paper until midnight, sad) and I saw an ad for a group of fans that was getting together the night of the memorial service (it was night time here). The ad said that they would also broadcast the service. To be totally honest, I hadn't been paying attention to any of this until then, although I know there was a huge media blitz in the US. I hadn't watched tv or read a paper in a week though, so I'd forgotten that he'd died. Anyway, I realized that the service was just starting, so I got out of bed and watched it. I thought it was amazing. I really teared up at the end when his daughter spoke. My heart breaks for those children.
And - was anyone else bowled over by Judith Hill? I went crazy the next morning trying to figure out who she was until Rolling Stone broke the news. I hope that she goes far. Listening to her sing "Heal the World" brought the meaning of those lyrics home to me for the first time.
I went to Billboard today and the top 10 Pop albums (CDs?) are all Michael Jackson (I think 1 Jackson 5). I printed it because I thought it looked so cool.
Overall though, I am just saddened beyond words.

I watched the end of the service when it was first broadcast...it was amazing and I think he would have been very proud of his kids, they have been sheltered from the public and yet they weren't freaked out at all by being up there in front of everyone.
