Hey! Nancy-
Thursday is the premiere episode of the 15th and final season for ER. This is what my local paper's TV section said about it: The 15th and final season of "ER" premieres Thurdsay at 10 p.m. on NBC. Series creator and producer John Wells is ready to end the show and he wants to do it in a big way. He's brought in Angela Bassett as the new head of the ER, Cate Benfield. Art will imitate life as Bassett's real-life husband, Courtney B. Vance, is also joining the cast at Russell Benfield, her character's husband. This will also be the season for bringing back old favorietes including Shane West (YAY!!!!) as Dr. Ray Barnett and Noah Wylie as Dr. John Carter. The TV Guide channel was showing a fall preview thing and said that Noah will be back for 4 episodes and that Anthony Edwards has agreed to do three or four appearances in flashbacks at Dr. Marc Green. They didn't mention Shane but they said there's still no word if George Clooney will make an appearance or two. I think that they should have a two-part finale and have Geroge & Julianna come back as Doug and Carol with their twins just to give the show a great send-off. Perhaps, if Abby survives the explosion (one of the questions TV Guide raised) they can convince Luka (Goran Visnic) to come back for a few shows as well. I guess I'm going to have to watch the show to see what happens. I'm just glad it's not on opposite Fringe but DWTS IS...CRAP!!! I guess I'm going to have to tape Fringe and watch DWTS...And I wish I had HBO so I could check out True Blood...from the guy who did 6 Feet Under...Oh well, looks like this seasons going to be fun.

I love that show. It will be sad to see it end but to be honest the later years weren't as good as the original players I don't think.

oh wow! I am literally about 7 seasons behind but I always enjoy that show when I see it. I keep thinking that one day I'm going to buy full box sets of all the shows I love and missed out on, like Frasier and ER.

Loved the writing and acting on Frasier. Every show is sooo funny, even in reruns.

I watched, Nancy. Although Pratt wasn't one of my faves I didn't dislike him. I had a really good cry fest during that show last night. I'm disappointed that the chose to get rid of Pratt but they had to in order to get a place for Angela Bassett to join the cast. I'm glad that Noah Wylie is going to come back for a few shows and that they're bringing back Ray too.
I LOVED the wake at Ike's. It was really nice.

OMG I finally watched last Thursday season premiere. I can't believe it was Pratt. I liked him. Such a very sad episode...yup, we sat here crying too. Wanda, I liked the sendoff they gave him at Ike's too. I think he did a fantastic job with the part and deserves an Emmy for his performance. I have a feeling this is going to be a very sad season with all the people they're bringing back on...Mark Green, Ray, Abby's leaving, etc. I just hope they end it in a positive way. I don't want to be crying during the last show.

Well, I wrote a big long post here regarding the last two ER eps and before I could send it my wi-fi went down and I lost the whole thing. I'll try to remember what I said and hope it goes through this time.
First, I apologize. I had planned to post on here on Halloween about the Halloween episode. I was walking on the clouds once I realized who was in the Frankenstein costume. OMG, when Ray took off the Frankie head I could have jumped through the screen and hugged him as tight as Neela did. l ADORED Shane West the three years (I think) that he was on ER. I have nothing against John Stamos and I think he is a very talented actor but I definately didn't want to see him with Neela or Neela with Lucian. I didn't watch too many of last season's episodes after Goran Visnic left cos they didn't have Ray on the shows. OMG, Shane looked absolute great. He's matured since leaving ER and I thought he was more handsome than when he was on there earlier. I got so upset when Anspah's nephew (the new Aussie hottie) interrupted them just when they were going to kiss. I don't like him at all. I don't find him as attractive as some of the men who left the show. What gives me hope that this ep wasn't a one-off for Ray. He said Neela wasn't getting rid of him that easily and he would be back. YIPPEE!
Unfortunately, I really can't dish too much about last week's show. All I know from the previews was that it was going to be a flashback ep with Anthony Edwards. I had given blood and then taken my flu shot Thursday afternoon. I had planned to watch CSI and ER then my local news and go to sleep. Well, I turned on CSI and watched til the first commercial break then closed my eyes to rest them. The next thing I knew I opened one eye to see that it was time to turn it up to ER, which I did. It was at a commercial so I closed my eyes for a few seconds waiting for it to come back from commercial. What woke me up was music... I knew I didn't have my radio on so I roused myself enough to open both eyes, put on my glasses and finally recognize the song as David Archuletta's Crush. He was the musical guest on Leno Thursday night and he was just finishing up. Now I was awake and unable to fall back to sleep. Unfortunately, I missed both CSI and ER. I found out what happened on CSI from a lady I work with who watches it but I don't know ANYTHING about what happened on ER. Anyone watch and wanna fill me in, Please?
Thanks, y'all.

I finally watched last week's episode last night on the DVR. Morris has decided to take Gregg's brother Chaz(the EMT0 who is a 1st year mewd student under his wing to help him get ahead faster. He does that at the expense of teaching the interns and neela is too busy to teachj hers and so the new boss has a fit and corrects them both. Neela gives it back to her and Morris ignores her. Later Morris letts Chaz help put in a chest tube, an intercostal artery is nicked and they almost lose the guy. Finally they both see the error of their ways. Morris talks with boss lady-can't think of her name and tells him he has lost focus since Greg died but he is trying. That strikeds a cord with her and she softens a bit toward him. Meanwhile her inlaws are coming to town for three days and she is not very nice to her husband about it. She doesn't want them there. Then says they can come but she will cook. Her hubby tries to make it easy by making reservations but she snaps and says she will cook. Frank turns out to be a very good cook and gives her a recipe and makes supplies for veal in a creamy chantarelle sauce. At first she is ticked that he is interfering but he keeps at it and she finally appreciates him and his help and again seems to soften. John Stamos is trying to help Linda and her son by offering them the spare room and she laughs at him urting his feelings but by the end realizes it would be good for them and her son agrees so she is going to move in. One of the new interns has a huge crush on him and will be heartbroken that he didn't break up with her. Shane West must have left but Neela gets invited with the Aussie nephew and his rugby friends to the bar after their game and she ends up going. At first they ridicule her as being to proper but after she beats them in darts and shops them she is cool they seem to accept her better. boss lady(?Kate) makes it home and her mother in law seems thrilled she is there and gives her a warm hug. That is all I remember. This Thursday is the big one wiht Dr. Green flashbacks coming but somehow he has interacted with boss lady when she was younger with longer hair. Maybe they met before her kid drowned in the tsunami?

Thank you, MB. I guess I didn't pay enough attention when they showed the previews cos I thought last week's show was the Marc Greene one. Well maybe I'll be able to stay awake for the show tomorrow night.
I knew that Shane's Ray Barnette was leaving at the end of the show week before last but, from the way he was talking, it sounds like Ray may make a few more guest appearances before the end of the season. I'll only be satisfied at the end of the season if George and Julieanne make a return appearance, even if it's the very last episode. I don't think they can end the series without Dr. Ross and Carol at least briefly.

OMG...what a show tonight. We got Carrie, Jerry, Romano and Mark Greene all in one episode. It was so intense. I almost felt like I had seen that episode before...did I? Did they just recreate an episode from when Mark was still alive? I had such a feeling I had seen that before. WOW!!!

I think it was all brand new. I don't remember seeing it but I don't know how she didn't cry when she found out her baby had leukemia and died. Anthony Edwards is such a great actor. Also what was the name of the doctor that come on to do a memorial to Michael Crichton. I always liked him too. That was an amazing episode/

MB & Nancy- It was kinda like Deja Vu with this ep but I don't recall them having that particular situation with Marc and a child dying of leukemia. I'm pretty sure that Angela Bassett hadn't been a guest star on ER. This apparently took place when Marc was receiving chemo-before he married Elizabeth and before Robert lost his arm so that would make it about season 10 I think, since I don't remember when Anthony Edwards actually left the show. MB, I must have missed the part where the doc came on to do the memorial for Michael Crichton cos I didn't get it on til after the opening credits. I'm hoping this little breatkthrough for Kate will help her look and act a little less like she swallowed a whole case of lemons and make her quite being so hateful all the time. I'm also glad the ones involved in the immediate treatment of the little girl didnt' desert their posts because Kate didn't want to face giving bad news to her mother.
The only thing I've ever found to be a little unreal has been how they always let family members (provided they control themselves) stay in the trauma room when they do thoracotomies, etc. And how they let the families invade their sterile spaces. I don't know of any hospital that allows that, at least not the ones around here. When Robin and I had our accident they wouldn't let me stay in the exam room while they did her exam and she wasn't even bleeding from anywhere except where she had bit her lip in the acciddent. It could be that they noticed her vitals were falling but they made me leave anyway. Oh well, I guess you can do anything you want on television, right? I can't wait to see who shows up next week. This has been an interesting season so far.
