Lucky Winner!!! #thcongratulations# ANOTHER GREAT BLOG...CLICK HERE!! Wednesday 26th Mar: Happiness #2 Zomg zomg zomg! Such wonderfoo news! I JUST got a call from Singapore Press Holdings.. saying that I .. have.. won 2 tickets to watch Queen: We will Rock You musical! Collect the tickets by this Friday and the show is on Thursday 10th April. This is so awesome and utterly lucky! I was contemplating splurging a big sum of $ on it but purse-strings are rather tight so I kept hesitating. Prolly 2 weeks ago, I was reading newspapers on a nice weekend when I came across a full-page advert. It was a phone contest for the musical, dial 1900-line and each call was $0.60. All I have to do is listen to three short clips and identify which tune is the one that is of the same title as the musical -> We Will Rock You. I grabbed my phone off the table and decided to try my luck. Since I'm a Queen fan and the song had quite a bit of airplay (it's almost as overkilled as We Are The Champions...), it was easy to recognise. Beep in my answer, keyed in IC n all, and that was it. One phone call and I continued reading papers. Forgot all about it till the SPH gal called me today. All I can say is.. YOWZA!

Here is the first blog review I've seen from opening night!! CLICK HERE TO READ From devinjay at livejournal.com... I have just returned from watching We Will Rock You - it's really good. Oh, the story's a bit tenuous, but everything else about this production is outstanding.
So outstanding, in fact, that tonight's audience gave it a standing ovation - twice. The light show alone (that it opens with) is worth the price of entry, never mind the spirited renditions of classic Queen hits, the stunning set pieces and the various bits of stage trickery and audiovisual gimickery used to recreate various locations throughout.
It's loads of fun, especially when the audience gets to sing, clap and stomp along. The script offers some truly funny moments ("Flash" gave me a giggle) mixed in with some too-obvious jokes and a couple of wince-worthy local references. The cast has a good time, and their energy does a lot to sustain the musical.
I'm a bit biased, because I'm a huge Queen fan, but I really enjoyed myself. We had the cheap restricted view seats, up on the curved bits of Circle 2, but that meant that we could stand up and mosh along to "We Will Rock You" and "Bohemian Rhapsody" without blocking anyone else, so it was all good.
Didn't get the programme, so I can't give proper credit, but really, everyone did a good job. Afterwards, we went to Harry's and the cast wandered in for post-show drinks so we got to smile and wave and thank them for the show they put on.

Not thrilled how he described MiG...but he sure liked the show!! SWITCHICO'S BLOG ON LIVEJOURNAL We Will Rock You in Singapore
I just have to brag that I was lucky enough to book decent tickets online for the OPENING NIGHT of We Will Rock You here in Singapore starring INXS 'reject' Migs Ayesa.
In case you don't know Mamma Mia is to Abba (Broadway) as We Will Rock You is to Queen (West End).
It is hands down the most enjoyable play I've been to. The story was okay until the ending which was just a blur. But it's just like being in a rock concert. Strobe lights, fog machines, the ridiculous outfits. It was great. The band..wow....wow.. guitar solos and all.
Plus, audience participation was encouraged and not awkward for once. Everyone in the audience clapped and cheered "We will...We will... ROCK YOU!!!" and they had us sing the chorus of "We are the champions..."
Super LSS until now. Can anybody find meeeee? Somebody toooooo loooooooveeeee.....

Wow...more!!! JADED-GLY'S BLOG ABOUT OPENING NIGHT...CLICK HERE!!! I absolutely enjoyed this show!! Much more then I expected =)
Mig Ayesa totally rocked it! Along with the rest of the cast.. MY gosh... Amazing!
After listening to all 26 QUEEN Songs in this musical, all the lyrics somehow had a stronger meaning, like its not just another rock song.
At the end of almost every song I was applauding loudly and hooting! Especially the last 2 songs -
WE WILL ROCK YOU & Bohemian Rhapsody!
Hands were in the air, people were clapping and stomping their feet and everyone was giving a standing ovation!
And it was not just the music. The actors comedic timing and lines were absolutely hilarious!
Making fun of the other "DIVAS", "ROCK GODS", Pop Royalty and popular song titles...
I tell you I laughed so hard it was hard to keep still! I really could not stop laughing!
The jokes were just killer!
You got to see it to believe it!
WORTH THE $150!!!
Now I have all the Queen Songs stuck in my head! **If you guys see blog reviews and they're not here yet, please share them. They're so fun to read!!! Thanks!! **

too true, Riza, there are more blogs from Singapore that any other venue so far, and it's not even a week in! MiG is selling his CD at the merchandise stall, so they all have the opportunity to buy it, plus I think it is, or will be, released over there! The U.S. version I hope...I think Decca has realized that those original tracks are a huge selling point!
