no more [... ] bootleg vids. don't be so sure, Toni. www.youtube.com/watch?v=IV3YhKjQBCII agree with the rest of your post though. I just got back from Bangkok about an hour ago. I saw the show 3 times this weekend, and was in the front row for the last show. Fantastic. Just fantastic.

JVD, You Rock! Thank you for braving ushers, etc to bring us some visual of MiG from WWRY in Bangkok. I'm and really glad you got to see the last show from the front row. How cool is that? Glad you had a great time.

Thanks, all. There were a few times when the red light was on my camera and it seemed like a freaking BEACON. The people around me all gave me dirty looks. :/ AND I had to change seats because I was originally sitting behind the woman with the tallest hair in Bangkok. She kept leaning forward and blocked my view (MY view, not the camera's) and drove me crazy. I should have moved up a few more rows to get a clearer shot, but I wanted to have people around me so I didn't stand out so much in case the ushers looked over.
What I did on the 2nd day was put my blackberry on my lap. Then when I wanted to lift my jacket and check the camera angle, I'd push the button so my blackberry would light up, and I pretended that I was looking at that. (People all around me were checking their phones throughout the show). I figured if the ushers saw the light from my camera's monitor (whatever the window on the back is called), they'd see the blackberry right on my lap and get fooled.
Still, the camera angles aren't great, and I have a lot of videos of the top of people's heads. I'm really bummed because I got Fat Bottomed Girls but the angle is so high that you can't see Annie Crummer at all!
Ah well, it's for the music. Enjoy!

How very stealth of you! LOL You had some great strategies. Thanks so much for sharing your vids with us. It helps those of us who couldn't travel across the globe to see MiG in WWRY. These take a little of the sting away. I'm very happy that you got to see the WWRY performances live. By the way, you are one awesome photographer! I love seeing your photos at the mm forum (I'm moonlitbeach there). Thanks again for the videos, jvd! Kay

You know what - every single person waiting at the stage door on closing night was from Hong Kong. There were 3 groups and me. I saw KY and her friends, but I didn't recognize any of the others. I chatted with a family for a while; they came to BKK specifically for the show. Their daughter (about 9 or 10) loved Stephen with a long Dutch name who plays Vic. I saw them in the airport the next day and we all had so much fun.
e2a - gotta run to pick up my daughter from school. see you!

Thank goodness because I'm short and big tall hair in front of me would have totally bummed me out. #lol#

JVD #thyourock# Thanks for posting this clip. MIG sang this when he was in Cleveland last eyar for us and it is a real treat to see him perform it in the context of the show. 3 times in a weekend sounds like a great get away. Thanks for bringing us some "souvenirs" of your trip. I bet MiG was so thrilled that so many people came over to Bankock to see him.

Thanks, all. OK, just uploaded another - not MiG, but part of the show. I think MiG really appreciated the visits, although IMO it was apparent that they were all ready to leave Bangkok and move on. The publicity for this leg was AWFUL. I saw a tiny ad in a "what's on" type magazine in my hotel room, and a poster on the street, and there were a few little signs in the building with the theatre. That's it. Nothing in the airport, nothing anywhere else. There were so many empty seats At the last show, however, those of us in the front row were having quite a party (in fact I was out until the wee hours of the morning with a few of them), and the people behind me were laughing at all the jokes and super appreciative. It was awesome.

It was awesome. It has been a long tour, so what you say about being ready to move on makes sense. That's too bad about having so little publicity in Bangkok. WWRY is such a fantastic show, and the cast gives a lot. Those of you who were getting into it and having such a fun time probably made the performances more special for the cast. It sounds like you made a real evening of it and had a blast!

It's too bad the show didn't end in HK, so they could go out with a bang. I am amazed at how many people came over from other countries to see the show. In the U S, that would be very unusual, unless the other country was just a few hours drive, lol. Anyway, so glad to hear that you and the others gave them a great audience for the last show of the last leg of the tour. I don't know how to contact KY, or I'd ask her if she could come over and post a recap and some media. You know how we love all that stuff!!!!

It's too bad the show didn't end in HK, so they could go out with a bang. .....Anyway, so glad to hear that you and the others gave them a great audience for the last show of the last leg of the tour. You know what? MiG said it should have ended in HK too. I was like "yesssssssssssss!" hee hee hee. Seriously though, I felt bad because these folks deserved so much more than a half empty theatre. They still gave it all though. Well, Bangkok is less than 3 hours away, and Singapore is less than 4, so it's really easy to just pick up and go - it's like flying to LA from NY (closer, actually). You can't drive anywhere from HK except China, and who the hell wants to drive in China? It's madness. I'm sure I've seen references to travel around here too - didn't someone come down from Alaska or something once? I'll email KY and see if she can post here - I know she's posted here in the past. She doesn't come back until today though, so I doubt she'll be around until tomorrow. She and her friends stayed at the same hotel as the cast, so she might have some off-stage juicy tidbits for us! e2a: btw, I'm not going to post links to each video here, because some are MiG and some are the cast. They're all on the same YT account though, so just check that. I've got about 10 in total that I want to upload, which will take a few days.
