hmmmm. Movie maker says that it doesn't support my files - they are saved as Quicktime by my camera. I wonder if I can change that. I have a very old version of Ulead photo editor - I'm not even sure if I can edit movies on it. I will have to check tonight. Thanks, Toni!

Can you download quicktime, it's free. (Maybe there is a converting program out there somewhere?) Then can moviemaker render the converted files files into mp4? My old video cam tapes in avi, which moviemaker can use, but I have to render the final product. Hey Wanda...you are the video master around here, got any suggestions?

well sh*t, I just realized that there is a box called "Ulead VideoStudeo 11 plus" sitting not 2 feet from my face under a pile of books - looks like Mr JVD bought something and I just haven't installed it.

glad to know I'm not alone! I just want to join the clips together - I'm going to take them down for the time being to avoid confusion. (well, more confusion).

Unfortunately, Toni, I can't edit Quicktime vids either. I have two different video making/editing softwares in my computer: Windows movie maker and InterVideo DVD maker, neither of which support Quicktime. The InterVideo DVD software will convert AVI, MPEG, MOV and I think SVF (or something like that) formats. Wish I could help but I can't, sorry. I will say that I have a DVD recorder and I usually transfer the videos from my camera directly to the DVD burner then upload them to my computer. It's a lot of extra work but then I can save it in NTSC or PAL format, which ever I need to save it in as well as MPEG, AVI or most of the others. I've never tried to see if I could load anything from my camera to the DVD burner...that gives me something to work on this weekend....

Ulead 11 should work great, as long as it takes quicktime or you can convert. It def will join your clips together.

That looks cool. Wonder if it's totally free, or if you only can use it for a trial period and then it disables itself unless you pay. Either way, looks interesting!!!

Toni- The download is free but you have to pay to be able to use the software without a watermark on you converted video. Believe me, I was going to do it til I found out it costs $40 bucks to get the full version. They'll get you any way they can.
