Hey guys... just playing messenger here... the label has been seeing and hearing a lot about the fans trying to help with MiG's promotions, and while they're very grateful for the enthusiasm and dedication... they also wanted to pass on some important info about certain aspects of the promotions... "It's important that the fans not deal with companies like Amazon or ABC, because these are our "accounts" - people we talk to every day. We have a large distributor network to deal with retailers, and both in-house and outsourced publicists to pitch MiG for TV shows, so if there are outside people trying for the same shows, it'll actually hurt us more than help us."They ARE very grateful though for everything everyone is doing as far as the sites, Street Teaming, etc... they just made this small request. Which is totally understandable... don't want to be doubling up or driving the same producers and distributers crazy by hearing "TOO" much!!haha Ok... just needed to pass that along... please don't take it in a negative way... look at the good side...they ARE promoting and doing their 'thing'... we just might now "see" it right now... but, we will soon!!! Thanks!!!

Oops. Does that mean we shouldn't, as a private person and not as a rep for a celebrity, ask to see said celebrity on a show - through a specific shows public contact, ie email? Did I word that kinda stiffly? lol. *e2a* I am so glad to hear that Uni is on the publicity wagon for MiG. He deserves it, he has worked his arse off for this.

That's great to hear, Laura. It's good timing for Universal to be promoting MiG when he has a new single out and a sensational album on the way. That may be when it's the biggest "news" for the shows. We know he would've been a great guest all along, but now viewers can see him and download his single immediately, check out his new Web site, etc. We promise to behave! LOL Kay

WOW....that seems really strange to me...but like I said, I know nothing about the music industry. It seems to me like the more requests received for a particular entertainer, the more the" powers that be" are apt to consider booking them.

I think what Universal meant was regular people like you and me trying to actually contact the Amazon and ABC execs and trying to promote MiG by pitching ideas to them...not calling and/or sending e-mails to various shows to request that he be a musical guest.
There is a fine line between what fans can do to help and when we can get in the way of people that are working behind the scenes to help promote him. I guess they may see it as a "too many cooks in the kitchen" situation.
At least that was how I interpreted the request from Universal.

IMHO, it is unprofessional for fans to try to "represent" their celebrity. Especially when there is official representation.

You know what puzzles me is that I don't think I've ever heard any one of the fans sounding like they would try to represent MiG.
Even when I am representing producers in doing bookings, I double check every single time, with the producer - to be sure they want a certain celebrity invited to do an interview or concert. Or they will tell me please get in touch with so and so and have them get back to me - we have these dates open or they may tell me a specific date.
I just don't think anyone on these websites has ever tried to do anything more than ask the shows to consider having MiG as a guest. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
I can remember when this website started with the list of addresses and contact info for the different shows and networks. People do this all the time. That is natural and it helps the programs know who is most popular and who will bring their ratings up!

I can't imagine ANYONE has actually tried calling Amazon or TV execs...that's ludicrous! So...are they asking us to stop sending e-mail requests?!??

That's what I was wondering about, Carol. Perhaps if Universal could be more specific. I can't imagine anyone trying to contact Amazon execs or network honchos to promote MiG, as much we all love him. Dale

Hi guys!!! I don't think they were talking about doing the request box things on the talk show sites... it sounded more like they'd gotten wind of someone(s) going above and beyond that is all. So, if you've been requesting him on the talk show circuit via their request boxes, that's what they're there for!! But please, let's just continue to use the form boxes on those websites, and not try and reach the producers of the show, or distributers for the CD that may not even have ties to Universal (or already have established relationships with them) Don't take any of this the wrong way... like I said, they are THRILLED with the enthusiasm and street teaming going on... so, I really don't think this was even directed at what most of us are doing! (the request boxes) We need to just trust that the label and the management have a plan and know what they're doing... they've both been doing this forever... we just might not understand every decision is all. (like the SOAK magazine)... I can totally understand it... MiG NEEDS that male and teenage demographic... so, that's what "I" personally look at... not the cover. Also... if he WERE to do an article in Playboy, hate me if you want, but look at their NUMBERS!!! OMG!!! Talk about getting him out to MANY MANY MANY MANY people at once!! (and I'm sure there would be NO nudity... simply an article!) No... this hasn't even happened, I'm just doing a "what if"!haha I know it's hard to be patient while everyone seems to be working behind the scenes and we don't always see or hear about what's going on... but, I can assure you that the teams at the label, and the team at his management company are SO on top of things and have put him as their priority right now! So, try and be patient and more things will come in as far as publicity. So, just hang tight. I hope that clears up any confusion. Please don't ask me the "why" of it all and the "why" of that message... I'm just the messenger right now for all that. And, quite frankly... knowing how busy they are trying to promote and distribute... I really don't want to call and ask for more details... that just looks like I'm second guessing them, which I'm so totally not. I fully trust them... because MiG himself fully trusts them. As long as he does....that's good enough for me. Thanks guys! xoxoxoxo

Thanks for the info Laura. I sure hope they are on top of things, as you say, and putting MiG as a priority now. That's very encouraging. He needs them to get his name out there and keep it there.
Okay....I'm being patient #whistling# #uhmm#
