Ames!!!! I was testing that foam you mentioned in Costco few days ago...oh my gosh!!! So tempted...I almost bought it, too! It felt like I would be floating when all of me is lying on it...of course, for trial sake my arms did the testing. lol #faint# You wouldn't believe, I stood there, placed both my arms on the foam --- oh la la---...those people watching the security camera, to them I probably looked ridiculous...oh well, had to try it for at least 5 minutes ya know! lol The double cost about 150$ plus taxes...the king was about 190$.... Funny, I was staring at the box where it is kept --- it is stored in a rectangular box --- for some reason, I can't help but wonder how it all fit in that box. Oh, Ames... put that on your list . The Temperpedic mattress...it cost both arms and legs...about 5 grand here. Eeeeyikes! Maybe someday.... My brother gave me a feather bed for Christmas...loving it!

I thought of another thing I would like to recommend, or more what my mother would like to recommend - The Swivel Sweeper. My mom cleans houses and swears by it, she would be a great spokesperson for it! She says it will change your life! It basically sweeps everything up without the broom and dustpan. It has little bristles inside that spin and pick up stuff. It recharges so it never gives out on you, and it's super lightweight and works really really well. You used to have to order them off tv, but now there showing up at Wal-Mart.

GREAT thread!! Well - talk of a feather bed makes me think of my pillow.... I have one of those "memory foam" pillows!! That I abolutely LOVE>... I used to always wake up w/ a headache or crick in my neck... and I HATE flat pillows.... The memory foam ones LOOK strange but they are SOO comfortable... supposedly better for your spine as well. I can't WAIT to have a tempurpedic mattress - UM... VERY expensive tho... At Costco i found a "memory foam" topper for only $100 tho! I think I'll try that out first Ames If you decide to buy, I would suggest getting it from a place where you can take it back if you don't like it. My husband and I bought a king-size tempurpedic from a local furniture store here in Houston. I was apprehensive because it was so expensive and wanted to make sure we could trade it in at least if we did not like it. Well...I hear a lot of people like them...but my husband and I didn't. I woke up with worse back and neck aches in my life! We ended up taking it back to the store and getting a couple of leather recliners for our money (we could not get our money back). What did we do for a bed? We bought a waterbed (which is what we had before)...the kind that looks like a regular mattress. Now, I'm back to sleeping like a baby. It is so soft...the mattress follows the natural contour of your body...and if you like your side warm (like I do), you can do that too. They're wonderful! My little dog loves it too!

Yeah that is good advice Evelyn.... didn't think of that. But also - I imagine if you are used to a waterbed... that might be why you weren't particularly fond of the tempurpedic... hmm
ALSO tho - I see things on tv all the time - where you can "try" the Temp. mattress out for 30 days... (or am I dreaming)... LOL cuz now that I type it that sounds crazy...
And NO worries Jonah! I TOTALLY did the SAME thing when I saw that topper!! hahah... I'm right there with you!

I found something that I would highly recommend for everyone! It's lip balm from Victoria's Secret called Balmy Days (I haven't tried the Balmy Nights yet) and it makes your lips feel like silk and it smells and tastes excellent too! My favorite flavor is Berry Sexy and my mom's is Vanilla Kisses. They're about 3 dollars each, so I recommend you try them both!

My swiffer vac works great, except that the battery doesn't last long enough to do the entire floor in just one room!!

It picks up great. You wouldn't expect it to work so well, but it really does. The battery usually lasts long enough to do the entire house, then you can charge it right back up.

hmmmm, I believe I shall have to take a closer look. Save the swiffer for the bathroom, since that's about the only room it'll stay charged long enough for.

Peyton, You should consider going into sales! ;D You have quite a convincing little pitch for all these items you've recommended!

Haha, well I believe in these things very much! That's a great idea though, because then I could make money doing it and then buy more things to try and then I could recommend the good things to you all! Too bad nobody hires 14 year olds, baby faces make things more convincing too!

Peyton, I will have to give the lip balm and the swiffer sweeper a try. My first job other than babysitting was as a carhop when I was 14)my best friend's dad owned the restaurant) The tips on the lot were horrible but it was still kind of fun. MB

That does sound like fun, especially since you were with your best friend.
Anything you'd like to recommend?

Peyton, I always have a hard time believing you're 14. You're very poised and mature-and clever!
I'm so sad because I started this thread to recommend featherbeds to everyone 'cause I loved mine. I also purchased a down comforter and down pillows, and I felt like a queen sleeping on clouds. It was about that time that my husband developed sleeping problems and woke up congested every day. And yes, it turns out he's allergic. WHAAAA-I miss my featherbed, et al. He didn't go along with my idea of moving him into the guest room.
