I also pick up the bubble goo stuff. I forget what it is called, but you squeeze a blob onto a little straw and blow these plastic bubbles. My middle grand daughter loves the stuff. My sister used to like to chew the dried up goo when the bubbles went down, eieewwww. I am sure it was poisonous s it stunk like a petroleum product. We used to play with those! We used to pop the little bubbles on our heads! ;D Jane

We used to play with the mercury balls when the thermometers would break. The liquid silver was very amusing. Now we know the stuff is so toxic that they can't even have it in a hospital!
Rocker Momma, I like your housekeeping tips.

Jane #ditto# according to everything that they say is bad for us now, it's amazing we all lived through childhood. We played with mercury, :-[I ate my mud pies , we rode in our parents lap b/c we didn't have a carseat nor a carseat law. Did anyone else play with glue? smear it all over the palm of your hand, wait for it to dry, then peel it off?

Worse than that, we used to have this white thick paste when I was in kindergarten and I ocasionally would eat a little. I loved the way it smelled. Thank goodness it was nontoxix. I must have really been a dumb little kid. Here's one way I know how old I am getting. We used to go to the corner store and some of the candy's were 2 of one penny and a whole pack of gum was a nickle, candy bars were a dime and a movie was 35 cents. My first job as a carhop paid 65 cents an hour which was better than teh 50 cents an hour I made babysitting and sometimes someone would leave a 25 or 50 cent tip and really make my night! The ribeye steak dinner was $1.50 and so it goes.

Oh, MB, so sad to say I can relate. I remember that white paste in kindergarten too (never ate it though) and I also earned .50 an hour to babysit. The other disgusting memory I have about trips to the store was picking up a carton of cigarettes for my parents for $10.00. ok, enough dating myself.
Now I have a recommendation. My 7 year old daughter received a Jump Dancer for her birthday. It's an electronic toy that has a classic rope-jumping feature and also spin-around jumping. She received it a week ago, and it's a hit with the neighborhood kids, and it's good physical activity to tire them out during the upcoming Spring Break. (we're going NOWHERE this year boooo hooooo)

Oh, yeah, spring break. We are going to Oklahoma with 2 dogs and 2 grandkids the second week of April. Hey, wonder if we are going to be passing near any MiGteamsters, would love to make a quick detour for a hello. We go through St. Louis then across MO on the highway that goes by 6 flags. We always stay in the same motel in St. Clair because it is half way and we know they accept dogs. Then on through Joplin into OK. We go south through McAlester down to Tupelo. That is about 30 minutes SE of Ada. We will be gone a week, and I will surely have internet withdrawel !!! I hope I can get online a bit in Tupelo, but it will be hard with both grandkids to keep an eye on.

Toni, sounds like a really fun trip. Hope you have some great spring weather!
Rhonda, I am not older than the dinosaurs. If so I would have quoted the price of a dinosaur steak dinner. You must have misunderstood ;D

I can relate to that, Toni. No, the fridge is on the top and the doors open from the center, like french doors. The freezer is on the bottom and opens like a drawer.

That sounds interesting. I don't think I would really like the fridge top opening at the center, because I know I would always open the wrong side. The freezer on the bottom makes sense, sort of like a chest freezer which is the most energy efficient way to have a freezer.

Sandy, My aunt has one of the frreezer at the bottom and she loves it and has convinced my mom to get one the next purchase. I don't think you can do ice or water in the door wiht that system though if that is something that is important to you. My washer is getting old but does a decent job. My sisterinlaw has a front loader which she really likes I don't know the brand.
