It bears repeating...'what a BLAST!!!' Now, I'm not one for going out on a Saturday night alone, but since Cengiz had to work, and I had made plans to connect at the Hard Rock with Nancy and Duane, I went for it. First of all, I want to thank Marla and Karen for letting me hang with them all night!! They ROCK!!!
Nancy and Duane were all over the HR snapping amazing pics which we'll link to as soon as they're up. I also saw Rachel...LOVE HER, Rachel, Melanie and Joan who I've met at several MiG Gigs!!! Everyone was so nice.
#bearhug#
Now to the show....
This gig was part of the Hard Rock's 2008 March On Stage Production. Remember, MiG did March on Stage last year.
Mink was up first and started just after 10pm. I didn't even recognize Neal with his new 'do'. They were tight, energized and really got the crowd fired up for the LH!! Stella was brilliant as evah. Had a chance to visit with Neal in between the shows. He's a doll. A new father. The sweetest guy. He says hello to Team MIG!!!
Then it was time for the LH. They started around 11:20. Oh, let me go back for a sec...
The Hard Rock Chicago has been remodeled and now has an awesome stage with awesome lighting and crew for concerts.
Ok...now for the LH!!! WOW!!! I have to admit that in the four times I've seen them, this is the first time I wasn't 'working' at the gig and could just enjoy the show without running around. They are beyond high energy and entertaining. If you ever have the chance to see them LIVE in your city or a city near you...GO!!! ;D Every single move Marty makes on stage is a photo op. You can't take your eyes off him. They performed about 12 songs. The highlights for me were Creep and Baba O'Reilly. And, of course, they did Trees and everyone sang along. Heck, everyone sang along to all the songs!! They've got awesome fans!!
It was so loud though...I still can't hear out of my left ear. ;D
Did I mention that the adorable and talented Matt Hoffer was giggin' with them last night? #105#
After the show we went up to the VIP section and hung out with the band for about an hour and a half. Marty couldn't have been nicer and funnier. He kept calling me 'Team MiG'. I teased that he did that because he couldn't remember my name, but he got me back by saying, "Yes I do, Nancy" with a smile and a wink. He kept saying how awesome Team MiG is and that almost everywhere he plays, someone from Team MiG comes up to him and introduces themselves. How cool is that?!!! It was so great to see him and hang out so leisurely. Matt is darling. He asked for a copy of MiG's CD!!! I'll be sending one to him in the mail tomorrow.
When the HR decided that we all needed to leave, the boyz asked if we wanted to join them at a bar for a couple of drinks, but it was after 2am and I was pooped. I don't exactly know how this happened, but the boyz and the fans ended up going one direction to the bar, and Marty and I ended up walking about 3 blocks in the opposite direction. I was looking for a taxi home and he was looking for a burrito joint. #giggle#
Anyway...he says a big HELLO to Team MiG!!!
What a fun night and a great show!!! #thhappy096# #punten# #punten# #thhappy096#
I'll be posting tons of pics here in a bit. Gotta go through them all first.
Thanks!!!
***OMG...I almost forgot...
The LH recorded the Hammerfest Gig at The House of Blues a couple weekends ago and it's going to be released as a DVD in the fall!!! #thstars#
