Now, you can all have a big laugh at this one but I've gotta say, this little "Disney boy" has grown into a very handsome and sexy young man of 21. HIs new album (cd) comes out Tuesday and the first single/video from the album, called Departure, is a song called Leavin'. Let me say, it's a much sexier video than the things he did a couple years ago and his voice has matured as well.
My big shocker was that I found out that Jesse is the co-writer of Leona Lewis' huge hit song, Bleeding Love. I've heard his version as well as his duet with Leona on the song and it is every bit as beautiful in a male voice as it is in her voice.
Once you're done laughing at me for following him do yourself a favor and give his new sounds a listen. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I've heard the name, but I'm not familiar with his music. I'll have to check him out! Wanda, I just posted some links for Gavin DeGraw's performances at music festivals in NYC and Boston yesterday and today, and I noticed that Jesse McCartney also performed at both events. Check out these links for pics and video for Jesse too... Mary Lee, believe it or not I never saw him on All My Children in 1999 cos I was no longer watching AMC by then. I only heard about him AFTER the fact (meaning after it was cancelled) when he was on Summerland that I think was either on the WB and starred Lori Loughlin. He was a main character and I never even saw it. I got hooked when I saw the WalMart Christmas commercial in 2005. My only complaint about him is that he originally was in a boy band as a young teen and he still has boyband dance moves that just make me crazy... From the live stuff I've seen (and own) he puts on a pretty intense concert so I would definately like to see him live.
In doing some research to find out the name of the show (Summerland) cos I couldn't remember it I found out he did the voice of Theodore in Alvin and the Chipmunks movie with Jason Lee (My Name is Earl) and was also did a voice in Jim Carrey's Horton Hears a Who. I haven't seen either of these films but now I'm going to have to rent them, LOL.
And thanks for the links to the Boston and NYC stuff, Joyce. I wish I'd known he was going to be on GMA cos I'd have taped it while I was at work today. Oh, well. I'm sure someone will put it on You Tube before the week's out and I'll catch it then.

I've gotta say that Jesse's new cd is way better than his first two. There was nothing wrong wiht them and the first two had some beautiful songs on them but his voice has matured and so has his songwriting. Even though it isn't on there, Bleeding Love is just a sample of what he can do. His co-writer on the song was Ryan Tedder from One Republic so he's in good company. In an interview he said that Clive Davis and Simon Cowell were the ones that chose that song for Leona Lewis so I'm impressed. I have a couple faves from Departure already, Leavin' (the current release) and a song called How Do You Sleep? I put the cd in my computer at work and played it all day over and over. The only song on the cd I DON'T like is one he does with a guy named Sean Garrett that is mostly rap. It'll grow on me but it's not one I particularly want to listen to right now.
The coolest thing about it is that it has cd-rom stuff as part of the cd and it is absolutely cool when you open the cd-rom stuff and find all the lyrics to the cd and lots of other goodies, including the official video for Leavin'. It's a really good cd.

I saw Jesse this morning on Regis & Kelly. Kelly played his big sis on AMC.
Leavin' is his first top 10 hit? Leavin' is a good song, just not my style, but I loved Beautiful Soul!! I'm surprised it wasn't in the top 10!
Jesse McCartney told Rolling Stone that he and Ryan Tedder (One Republic) are planning to write songs with David Cook for his upcoming album.

This just gets better and better... Jesse is a truly talented young man and I'm so glad he has a good bunch of friends to write songs with. I saw an inteview where he said that before One Republic took off that Ryan was just Ryan to him...I look for that trio writing songs together to come up with some really great stuff...DC&JM and RT will write some powerhouse stuff...

Wanda, I think Jesse McCartney will be on Jay Leno Friday night, 7/25. When I heard that Gavin DeGraw would be on tonight, I went online to confirm, and noticed that Jesse was scheduled for tomorrow! Hope you can catch it.

Hope you can catch it. Thank you so much, Joyce. I don't usually watch Leno but I'm goint to have to make it a point to see Jesse. I've only seen him on daytime talk shows so it'll be nice to see him on a "grown up" show like Leno. At least Jay doesn't try to make his guests look like idiots like Letterman does. Thank you again. I'll have to write it down so i don't forget.
