He was great!! #th28-1# At first I thought he was nervous and wondered what he was looking up at...like...were the words to the anthem on the jumbo tron, but then I realized he was looking up at the flag. #105# **Now we have to watch the game for crowd shots just in case the Top Ten got treated to the game. Jason's dreads should be easy to spot!! **

From people.com: David Cook Rocks Prime-Time National Anthem By Bryan Alexander
Originally posted Wednesday June 11, 2008 07:45 AM EDT What's harder – belting out hits on American Idol or singing the national anthem before an NBA playoff game?
"The nerves are way worse [than on
Idol]," David Cook told reporters moments before his Tuesday night rendition of the Star Spangled Banner. "It's the one song you don't want to mess up. I'm going to try not to notice Jack Nicholson sitting in the front row and think about the lyrics."
The only saving grace about his performance before game three of the Celtics-Lakers NBA championship series?
"No matter what I do, I don't have Simon [Cowell] telling me how dreadful it was," the 25-year-old joked.
But the Idol winner nailed the vocally and lyrically tricky anthem – and was spotted backstage looking relieved.
"It was crazy," Cook told PEOPLE. "I still have the shakes a little bit. I got through it. I don't think I messed up any words."
His girlfriend, Idol alum Kimberly Caldwell, was there to cheer him on. But even with her support, Cook said, "that was the scariest thing I have ever done." **there is a video of his performance** CLICK HERE FOR DC PERFORMING THE NATIONAL ANTHEM!! Sorry about that last bit in the article, Mary Lee. #hidingunderchair#

The 2 davids really like each other. DC really helps to loosen up DA a bit I think. Check out this bit of fun
and some more interesting responses to the tv guide interview. He is just so put together and grounded.

David Cook to perform at charity dinner
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., June 12 (UPI) -- Singer David Cook is to perform and comedian Jimmy Kimmel is to act as host of a California charity event to raise money for cancer research, organizers said.
The Jonsson Cancer Center Foundation at UCLA, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising private funds for highest priority cancer research, said it is planning its 13th annual Taste for a Cure event June 21 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif.
Fox Broadcasting Company President of Entertainment Kevin Reilly will be honored with the Gil Nickel Humanitarian Award, while Kimmel will emcee the event and 2008 "American Idol" winner Cook is to perform.
Taste for a Cure is a wine and food tasting reception followed by a seated dinner with creations by award-winning chefs selected to prepare the tasting menu and dinner.
This year's chefs are Lee Hefter and Ari Rosenson of CUT; Joachim Splichal of Nick & Stef's; and Paul Villa and Nick Kislo of BOA Steakhouse, the foundation said.

He was wonderful in both performances! I love how he always changes it up......the songs are never exactly the same. He rocked the Foo Fighters more this performance than he did at his homecoming. He looked more himself, more rested, last night. He moved around more and was jerking the mic stand again! Now we have to wait for The View for another David sighting.
