Laurie-
I know it would be exciting to see David in person at Rockefeller Center but it's going to be televised Wednesday night (forget which channel) and they've been advertising that David will perform at the production so stay home, be cozy and watch it, that's what I'm gonna do.
Also, should have posted this last week but forgot. David was a guest on VH1's Top 20 last week for the debut of Light On on the countdown. He came on and did a little talk with the hostess before the #3 song then introed the #2 song, which just happened to be Archie's Crush before introing his own Light On, which debuted at #1, knocking Archie out of the top spot that he had regained only the week before. He had been at #2 the week before that but I don't remember who was #1 that week. Anyway, I don't know where the video sits this week and forgot I won't get to see it tomorrow cos I'm going to be working for a few hours of holiday time... hmmm, since I don't have a set time to go in I may just wait til 10 and go in then. I'll think about that. Anyway, glad to see that David is going to be busy at least part of this week. I really like Light On. I think David has a very nice voice. He's pretty cool

Soooooo, did any of you guys see DC on Ellen yesterday? OMG it was so hysterical. Ellen found a video on youtube and played it for him and all the audience...it was of a group of pre-teens watching the final episode of AI, and you could hear the tv in the background. So, these girls were all Archie fans with Archie tee shirts, and they were all watching intently as they announced...and the winner is...David....the girls all squeal and stick fist in mouth...Cook********OMG, the girls went nuts, screaming NOOOOOOOO, crying NOOOOOO, tears, falling on the floor, all that stuff. It was sooooooooooo funny, and Ellen and David were cracking up. Wanda, I bet you can find that video...you have knack for finding stuff on youtube, lol.

Toni-I'll look for it tomorrow evening. I'm sure it wouldn't be that hard to find. When I do I'll put a link here. Also, just wanting to remind you all to watch the lighting of the tree in Rockefeller Center tomorrow evening. It's on ABC, I think, at 8 p.m. David is supposed to sing.
Oh, and before I forget, Light On dropped to #2 on VH1's Top 20 as Archie once again took the #1 spot with Crush.

I cannot even imagine how crush can over take light on...oh wait, all those little pre-teens. I forget how much impact they have these days...ie Hannah Montana, High School Musical, et al. But still, no way is Crush a better song than Light On...no comparison IMO.

I watched him, he did a good job, and I thought the significance is that he performed at the end before Beyonce. I am interpreting the order of events to mean he is one of the headliners of the evening. But I have a question, did he do a different version of the Beatles song or the announcer was mistaken ? Someone please correct me if I am wrong or my memory has failed me again.

Riza, I always thought the headliners went last. It was an honor for him to be in that group........even though I'm not a fan of many of the performers, they are all very successful!! I couldn't tell much difference in the John Lennon song, either. #IDunno# On another note, I would never have recognized Beyonce's version of Ave Maria if she hadn't sung those words.

Glad to know I was not out of touch. With both David Cook's and Beyonce's performances. However, when I hear her name or see her, I get this image of her dancing with a group of people in the HDTV ad to upgrade, upgrade. The dance move was most unflattering for her. It also is not classy for her. She is a beautiful girl , but she is over commercializing herself. If there are any Beyonce fan, I did not mean to offend, just thought she need to spread herself in music not in ads.

I thought her voice was absolutely stunningly beautiful when she sang Ave Maria. Too bad she doesn't always sing like that.

It would be nice if she'd sing like that more often - just connect with people through her voice. It stands on its own. Riza - you raise a lot of good points. David Cook looked really cute in his leather jacket and red scarf. He was probably FREEZING! *eta - In my rush to watch the two videos, I forgot to say THANK YOU to Mary Lee for posting them!
