Wow! That's an interesting answer to that question about Queen. OMG...I might have to scrape up the money to see Queen somewhere.
And the original, Kiss and Tell isn't an indication of Adam's more recent music, which is much harder rock than some of the earlier stuff. I've got my fingers crossed for the Queen thing to come off...

Lol, this will be fun to follow. Will he or won't he! I think if Queen wanted to do some US shows, they would do well to use Adam for them.

As Nicole reminded me, Simon Cowell *19 Entertainment* is buddy buddy with Queen/Brian/Roger. It's not so far fetched to imagine that a deal is possible. Simon would surely be involved in it so we wouldn't have to worry about *19* mucking things up for Adam.

This is quite long but interesting from Michael Giltz, from the Huffington Post When it comes to American Idol, does Jesus take the wheel? I've been supporting Kris Allen for months but it wasn't because he was a Christian. (I didn't know he was a worship leader or has done missionary work in numerous countries around the world. And I'm pretty sure he didn't know I was an altar boy for years and now collect the money when the basket is handed around at my church on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.) But for a theory about how Kris pulled an upset over the wildly popular Adam Lambert, the Christian vote is a pretty good one. It's certainly one factor. (So is talent, Tiger Beat ready looks and viewers who get tired of being told someone is a lock when they haven't even voted yet.) In fact, look at seasons past and where there's a clear Christian vs secular showdown, the Christians have been winning handily. Take that, Charles Darwin! Sometimes the survival of the fittest goes to the person with the best telephone prayer chain. Check it out. (And please keep in mind I'm not talking about their personal faith, just our perception of it from what we told on the show at the time they were competing. Someone I describe as worldly might be exceptionally devout while the contestant prominently sporting a cross might be at the juke joint on Saturday and never even make it to church on Sunday.) Season One featured wholesome Kelly Clarkson vs the worldly, media savvy Justin Guarini. Clarkson won big time and set the standard for Idols to come. Season Two: Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdard both held forth on their faith. Ruben had an edge perhaps from the tight-knit black churches that came out strong for him. But this was a Christian vs Christian finale so you can't draw any conclusions from this one. Season Three: trailer park gal Diana Degarmo vs Fantasia, who had all those years of experience singing in church to draw upon. Fantasia wins it. Season Four: Good ole country boy Bo Bice (who looks like he might have been smuggling moonshine before getting tapped for the show) vs Carrie Underwood. Her signature tune? "Jesus Take The Wheel. The winner? Duh. Season Five: Katharine McPhee vs Taylor Hicks. This felt like a secular showdown to me: McPhee was a Broadway baby with a dad in the TV industry and Hicks loved the blues/rock circuit. But is it any coincidence he won thanks to constant shout-outs to the Soul Patrol? Season Six: Blake Lewis vs Jordin Sparks. Blake Lewis likes to beatbox and is down the with the latest sounds. You can easily picture him partying down to all hours of the morning. Sparks is an evangelical Christian sporting a purity ring. The winner? Sparks. Season Seven: David Cook vs David Archuleta. Cook got his start in a Christmas pageant in the second grade. David Archuleta is a Mormon and that actually might have hurt him since there is little sense of community and indeed a lot of antagonism for Mormonism from other Christian sects. Just ask Mitt Romney. The winner: David Cook. Season Eight: Adam Lambert vs. Kris Allen. Lambert has performed in road show productions of secular Broadway musicals like Wicked. Kris Allen has done missionary work in Burma, Morocco, Mozambique, South Africa, Spain and Thailand. The winner? Missionary man Kris. Obviously, this is a playful analysis of the people who make it to the finals. And no one gets to the finals without millions of viewers supporting them week after week. So don't cry foul or horrible prejudice when your favorite gets to be on stage for four months, becomes a household name and gets tens of millions of votes. Anyone who makes the final 12 has at least an outside chance of stardom. Still, the next time there's an Idol final, I'm not gonna listen to their singing, I'm gonna look into their soul. Maybe, just maybe the one that appeals to the heartland more has the better shot. www.huffingtonpost.com/michael-giltz/emamerican-idolem-try-emc_b_206134.htmlMy own editorial I think this may have been my draw to both Jason Castro and Kris Allen intuitively because I am not aware of their religious practices before I loved their music. After loving their music, the "person" caught my interest. Please do not be mistaken, I am not a religious freak. I never followed any of this season's idol being true to my goal for catching the entertainment rather than the competition this year. But as much as I LOVE Adam, I cannot help but be drawn to Kris for an "unknown" factor, not the "X or G" factor but maybe something more ethereal. Even Kris' lopsided mouth when he sings a long note has grown on me. I can see the "shrimp "well in place. Disclaimer: Since I only started watching IDOl during the Taylor Hicks time, I have no opinion prior to that time. (to avoid confusion, I want to include my ethereal definition LoL.........ethereal : celestial: of heaven or the spirit)

It's not so far getched to imagine that *19* wants to rake in lots of $$$ by being in on a deal like that! *e2a* after reading Isis' last link, it is sounding like a done deal...well, at least a great possibility. Brian would say even that much if there was less than half a chance of it happening.

I think this would be a great thing for all involved, Adam, Simon and, of course, Queen. I don't think anyone would be disappointed in the take but Adam is committed into September to the AI tour so the Queen thing would have to happen AFTER that. I'm up for it. I'd probably have to rob a bank to afford the ticket but I'd LOVE to see a Queen show (or two or three) with Adam at the helm. I never had the pleasure to see them in they heyday with Freddie so I'd love to see them now but only if Adam was fronting them. Oh, and my exploring today I discovered where the wire shoulder thingies that Adam wore with kiss came from. The "friend" he borrowed them from was the male lead in The Zodiac Show this past September and wore them in their opening number, Black Dog (a Led Zep song). I still haven't see anyone in the suit yet to know whether the suit is Adam's or not but I know the boots are cos he said so.
I believe an Adam Lambert thread would be appropriate since I've got a list of shows he's going to be on in the next week. Since we don't have an AL thread yet I'll post them here for anyone interested. Some of them are just Adam and some include Kris and/or the other Top 10 Idols.
Monday Extra Larry King Live (all the Top 10 who will be answering viewers' questions (emailed ones)
Tuesday The Early Show (CBS) (Adam will perform)
Wednesday Regis and Kelly (Adam performs)
Thursday Today (NBC) (Kris & Adam perform)

I've heard that Adam is committed to the AI Tour and putting out his own collaborative album by XMAS 2009, so any touring with Queen would have to wait until next year. I'm not sure they would want to wait that long, but you never know. Stranger things have happened.

Just some musings...would it end up that Queen would be Adam's backing band, would Adam end up doing Queen karaoke, would they be accepted the same in the states as in the rest of the world? I agree, anything likely will not be for a while, just something that might be in the works for the future. The joining up with Paul Rodgers came about just as serendipitously, lol. They just happened to sing with him at some event and they just clicked. They worked together what, maybe 4 years? So now it's off to try something else, lol. I don't know where Brian finds the time or energy to do so much, what with his music, tours, his book, his thesis, publicity for all of that, his family, omg I'm so tired just listing it all!

I made a comment to a friend that if those leather pants were any tighter they would be wearing him. And I'm going to carry the list over to the new Adam thread just to be sure we all know what's going on.

Riza, I joined this group and got an email from the administrator asking me if that was MiG in the picture with me cos she had met him a couple years ago and thought he was a sweet guy. Her avatar is a picture of her and Adam so I don't need to ask her if she met him, LOL.
