Everyone who is or has been a member of Team MiG has made a difference and played an important role in shaping Team MiG. This thread provides a place for you to share what Team MiG has meant to you, too. It would be great to hear about how you got involved with Team MiG, things you've learned, what Team MiG has given you, and more. It's a nice way to help celebrate our 4th Birthday.
(If you'd rather post a birthday card or greeting for Team MiG, please feel free to post it in the Happy 4th Birthday Greetings thread.)

Wow, I don't think I can just sit and write everything that TM has meant to me, there is so much. It is the cornerstone of my being able to not only follow MiG as a fanatic stalker fan, but to connect with so much more in the MiG world. Hopefully I can write something better later on. I am obviously not so good with words at the time I want to be. Brain freeze, lol.

The words you crossed out were funny, because you're absolutely not one of those, Toni! And you always find great words!
You can write comments in different posts, and don't have to write them all at once. It can be one thing per post if you want. It's meant to be an active thread, with comments made as people think about them. So post to your heart's content whenever the mood strikes you!

Here is something that just crossed my mind. If it wasn't for Team MiG and the TM forum, I might never have started going to MiG gigs. I know I can't remember exact words of course. Aaaaanywayyyyy, If ya'll can remember way back, the "after Rockstar Party" was one of the early gigs listed, and it was to be in Toronto the same night that InXs with JD was going to be at the ACC in concert. BTW, it was called After Rockstar Party because it was slated to begin at 10pm so people could leave the big concert and run over to where the gig was. It was in a good sized venue called The Guvernment right on the waterfront. I thought about going to see MiG along with Suzie, Ty, and Tara, but it seemed a bit far to go on my own and try to find my way around in a huge downtown. But when I mentioned it on the forum, Gee (who lives near Toronto) contacted me and offered her house and we could go together! That was all it took to push me over the edge, plans were made via the messaging here as well as on the forum. In fact, several of our TM members planned to meet there, as well as some of Gee's friends and some of JD's fans. I think all but Tracy and I were going to the InXs concert first, so it was up to us to line up early and get established up front, lol. Without the TM forum to facilitate all of this, (including friendly encouragement from everyone) I prolly never would have gone. And I would have missed out on an amazing experience, not only seeing MiG live but finding out how awesome it was to meet up with people from the forum.

Just thinking how Team MiG and MiG are so intertwined in my experience. I became part of TM because of being a fan of MiG, and am more easily able to follow MiG because of Team MiG. Without the camaraderie, information, help, encouragement, and communications on Team MiG, it would be so much more difficult (and certainly less effective) to be able to try and spread the word of his amazing talent and persona. Just like the old adages...united we stand, two heads are better than one...how corny is that, but it's really true.

I stil find it hard to put in words all the Team MiG means to me. I decided to take a trip back in time, right here on TM! I poked around in the archives. Wow, such memories. For instance, in this thread teammig.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=tmnewsarch&action=display&thread=1555 I found some copies of old journal entries from MiG's original MiG music site. I just wish I had time to go through the whole archives right now!

AWE Toni - that whole weekend (okay Sunday/Monday) was one of the BEST memories I have...............Toronto -- the trek out to North Bay -- my first one on one sit down interview with MiGGy - by candlelight no less at 2 am!!!! We had SO much fun!!!!!
What TM means to me -- wow....where to begin -- well first of all my husband now knows that not all peeps you 'meet' on the internet carry a machetti (lol - yeah you toni can you believe it!!!) and that it is possible to make really really great friends on the net and never meet them face to face but when you do -- awwwwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! It's like you've known that person forever!!!
So let's see -- Toronto and North Bay -- New York -- Cleveland -- Burlington.....great times - great friends -- with and apart from MiG!
TM - Nancy ROCKED MY WORLD when she called me at work one day and asked me if I'd work with Stacy (who's in LA no less) and put together a comprehensive monthly newsletter!!!! I was honoured and totally scared that it was too much to get into - it was hard work - I'll admit but it was a GREAT experience - and that would never have happened but not for TM!!!
TM made me get a phone service that offers FREE long distance to Continental US and Canada cuz I just could not afford to make all those calls 'per minute'!!! lol.............
Those are just a FEW things that go through my mind when I think of what TM means to me - and I know that I am guilty of infrequent visits or the occasional drive by post but what's really cool is that everyone is always welcome even for just a quick MiGtini or two and no one is shunned -- okay tease away - lol - because they're not 'on' every day - I know I can pop in once in a while just to say hi and it's okay - and that's just such a nice warm fuzzie feeling ----
Thanks KAY!!! Great job (as usual!) hugs to all! gee

You know...it's TM's birthday and I have such mixed emotions. I absolutely adore the friends I've made here, but, as many of you know, events of the past have made it impossible for me to support the person that this fansite was started for. However, as I think about it on this special occasion, TM is so much more than just a place to promote him. It's a gathering place for all of us from around the world...right? It's a place where we can visit and dish about anything and everything and stay connected. That's what TM means to me now.
Kay, thank you for all you do to keep TM here for the friends and friendships from around the world that were born here.

@nancy...As one of the Team MiG originators, both the term and the website, you certainly did start up something wonderful here, kept it going through thick and thin, and you must be proud of that!!! The street teaming, the open and welcoming forum, the friendships created, and Kay who has done an amazing job of "keeping the light shining and passing it on"! I will always be greatful to you and Laura as well as Kay, for giving MiG fans a home to come back to. Not just a place for information about MiG, but a place to connect in different ways. Toni...who has no machetes in her pocket

TeamMiG has been a huge part of my life for 4 years. I have plenty of friends and lots to keep me busy in my life so I wasn't here looking for ether of those things. I came to try to find out more about a man who's talent I was blown away by in Rockstar INXS. I found that here! What I also found was wonderful accepting people who I am proud to call my friends. People who I can laugh with, people who I can share my problems with, Friends who i can have fun with. I have grown so much as a person here-I am more computer savvy and I now have friends from across the country and the world. TeamMiG has shrunk the size of the globe as we joined together to support MiG and each other. How incredible is that? Truly Awesome!! My dream was to see a MiG concert some day. How that dream expanded and meeting him was more than I ever expected. To get to know him and his beautiful heart surpassed even that. There have been so many times when I have enjoyed spending time with my TeamMiG mates and each was so special. The last time that I was in New York in March and told MiG of being upset and he dropped everything he was doing to come and talk with me and the rest of the group really proved to me how much he cares about us.And then he provided us with 8 hours of musical entertainment that blew me away. I know he did it as a very special gift to TeamMiG, to show his love and support of us! I would never have dreamed that someone would give so much of their talents and show such compassion for us and our feelings. To put that much stress on his vocal cords and go the extra mile when you could see his fatigue meant the world to me. and I could see how he enjoys our company when we make the effort to go to his gigs. He did the same for us when he completed every event of the Big Chicago MiG weekend to the point he had no voice left. If meeting MiG surpassed my dreams, spending time with each of you has been so special and I wasn't' smart enough to dream of having so many wonderful new friends. I totally enjoyed learning how to street team in Chicago, lining up the AVP event with Darrell, Toni and Kay, hopping taxis and trains to race from one MiG gig to the next, sitting in the Supernova bus feeling like a teenager inside and seeing MiG's surprised face as we bounced out to greet him and meet him the first time. Feeling the warmth of his hugs when meeting us and how he looks each fan in the eyes and really listens. Getting a call to street team with Cleveland and meeting Carol, Toni and Darrell to turn Cleveland upside down. Getting kicked out of city parks and finding just the right place to play inside Jacobs Field when we went to check out the next gig site. Watching Darryl Beaton see his first baseball game and MiG's funny antics with the signs I had for my kids. Meeting so many more fellow TeamMiG friends at Canal Room, enjoying his first full length concert and then hanging out in Chinatown and Little Italy with my MIGmates. The car ride with Cheryl driving will never be forgotten by any of us in that town on the way to the concert. She really gave Wanda some tips that have stood Wanda in good stead when she has braved Manhattan traffic. The Cleveland gigs the following March just continued the fun and it was great to spend time with Simmy and meet Dorian Cheah. not only have I enjoyed MiG but learning about incredible artists like Dorian and Darryl have also really enriched my life and appreciation of new artists, I might not of otherwise heard about. Can't forget MiG giving Toni and Darrell the special wishes and the bottle of champagne we had bought for them. He enjoyed that announcement! There were some fun hot tub pics ( as Toni and Darrell shared their champagne. Since it wasn't' Vegas we shared the stories lol. Fun street teaming and avoiding arrest in Cleveland with Kay and then with Wanda Donna and Toni too. Street teaming in Columbus with Wanda All those were huge memories but even the smaller everyday things have meant so much to me. Spending time here getting to know each of you better, healing the rift between TMers. Friends do fight and do make up and it has been nice having the hurts repaired. All the fun TM has had to offer, pictures, games, chats, evaluation of other musicians, movies, tv shows. Many thanks to Laura and Nancy for starting such a great site. Something that I wandered into not knowing how enriched it would make me. Thanks to Kay for taking on the helm and I look forward to where she will steer this ship as we continue to support each other and the support that so many of us continue to want to show MiG. I love you guys!! #bearhug# #blowingkiss#

I know what you mean toni!!!!!!
Such awesome times -- even the 'bad' times -- who could know that we'd end up in FLUSHING NY after shutting down and entire airport!!! Poor MB - on that plane for how many hours before they let you back off??!!! Without my TM'er mates I would have FREAKED out to be stuck in an airport like that!!!
Computers.....................ah h*ll -- didn't know anything about them until all this and now I have FB and MS and I have burned CD's and have play lists and have IM'd and all stuff I'd never heard of before RSI --- I was SO scared to get on that board for fear I'd get hacked or something - LMAO -- oh and short forms......just today someone at work asked me what the H*LL ROFPMPLOL meant!!!
Friendships do repair and it's always nice to come home even if it's just for the special events.
hugs gee

I am so grateful to you and Laura for starting TM. I have made so many wonderful friendships here and travelled to meet many members. I will never forget the good times! I don't visit fan forums very often anymore.....times have changed.....but this place will always hold a piece of my heart.

Wow, it's been great to read about everyone's memories! It's been a LONG while since I've been by TM but I wanted to pop in and say Happy 4th Birthday to TM and to say thank you to Laura and Nancy for creating such a wonderful site and to Kay for keeping it going and thriving.
I remember thinking that I would never get to see MiG perform live and get my "MiG & Me" photo but in the end I was lucky enough to see him in NYC for his first full length concert, saw him in LA (while I was on vacation with the family) at the Operation Smile charity event and capped it all off with an AWESOME 24-hour trip to Las Vegas to see him perform at the Hard Rock Cafe.
I wish MiG luck in his career even though I am a retired full-time fangirl at the moment! LOL
I also wish all of you health, happiness and love in your lives...I have made many friends here over the years and have been lucky enough to meet many of you at my 3 MiG gigs.
Cheers to you all!!
Sophia xoxo
