Hey, y'all. Just got a tweet on Twitter that MiG will be performing on Broadway until Jan 10 then goingon tour with the show, Burn the Floor, beginning on February 20. The tour will continue through Korea, Canada, the US and a couple other places. MiG is supposed to do those tours. This info is on MiG-Music and was posted last night apparently. He's replacing, apparently, one of the dancers...If what I read was correct.

I just saw that! I'm so sad that the timing is so bad for me to even hope to get to NYC before the last show. I can only hope yo be able to catch it if it tours near here later. So I guess that means no hmr tour but I'm sooooo excited that MiG gets to perform on broadway!!!!! I knew he could dance, lol. Omg mig is on broadwayyyyyy

There are two vocalists in the cast. I'm pretty sure MiG is going to be one of them.

I decided to put this here because I can't find a United as One thread. Anyway, I was just thinking how I have always envisioned this song as a world-wide song of hope and love. After the tragedies in Haiti, it made me wish United as One could be translated and recorded in many languages and played to the world with videos of the affected areas to generate donations and help. I translated the tagalog into Spanish, and thought about doing it in French, but I have no knowledge in how to translate into Haitian Creole!!! Besides, I guess it's probably improper of me to do something like that with someone else's song. I just find it such an inspiring song for all disasters/world events.

There are a couple lines that refer to rains going on forever and a break in the weather, but there could be a few little tweaks and United As One would be an inspiring song for many types of situations in which people are desperate for hope and support. MiG wrote the song especially for the people of the Philippines of course, but it could be expanded and reach out to even more people. I'm not sure if he'd feel he wanted to do that, but if he did, it could make a big difference. The song touches hearts and erases borders. I'll make a separate United As One thread and include various info - then you can move this post there.

In our church bulletin today there was included a special flyer about the plight in Haiti. It made me wonder why the same attention had not been given to the Philippines when they had their many disasters! I wish there were some way to recall attention to that situation.

We actually have a volcano erupting a few days before christmas and people living in that area was evacuated. Thank God the alert level is now lowered (but is still considered a threat).

More attention really needs to be paid to all that is happening over there! Just can't figure out why Haiti is getting so much more attention and help! Frustrates me immensely!

I think perhaps because the typhoons covered a much larger area, the news was spread among many affected countries. I read about the volcano, just glad that there were warnings and people could take precautions. The trouble with disasters is that help is needed for such a long time after the news dies down, heck there is still help needed in regards to Hurricane Katrina!!! That was one great effect of MiGs song, to renew the energy to help the pinoys.

Thank you to Toni and Mary Beth for finding and sharing this excellent article! I added it to MiG Press and News as well, so we have all articles captured on that subboard.
It's difficult when the story of ongoing struggles and needs in the Philippines isn't reported. There was so much to deal with already - but then a volcano eruption too! I hope you and all of your family and friends are ok, eyecatcher.
