LIKE A CHILD’S FIRST STEP Written by MiG Ayesa, Michele Vice-Maslin & Larry Treadwell
Speed bump head on crash The pressure’s on so fast I lost track did I really say that?
Boiling point so low Like a fever grows On a slow boat home should’ve just laughed
Cause when I stand back and Catch my breath I see it’s alright it’s alright
Soulless perfection chasing me I see my failings facing me again Burning me and branding me When I could be reaching out instead Like a child’s first step
Unsure and stumbling It’s all so humbling But never going back To crawling
Not here to save the day, Can’t do it anyway, But maybe I can save a moment
Cause when I stand back and Catch myself I see it’s alright it’s alright
Soulless perfection chasing me I see my failings facing me again Burning me and branding me When I could be reaching out instead Like a child’s first step
Step into a new direction I hold on like autumn leaves Exposed and redefining my connection Then falling from the shelter of the trees.

What an absolutely gorgeous song! It's so different than anything else I've ever heard MiG do and I LOVE IT!!! I'm so excited to see MiG in concert in a little less than a month. Maybe we'll get some more of his originals mixed in with the songs from the cd.

This song is good, really good. He is an awesome songster, so creative. Anyone know if this is a new song or from a while back?

Toni, Wanda... I agree. This one screams chart topper to me. I can actually imagine this one on alternative rock stations here in Chicago. This one is magic!!!

Nancy-
That's basically what I told MiG in my comment to him on My Space. I told him I could hear that song on the radio right now.

I totally agree. This is an amazing song! MiG is indeed a wonderfully creative songwriter!! I think this is a new one for him. It says 2007 demo on it. I am getting so excited about his 2nd, all original CD, even before the first one is even released here.
