Wow, you are quite the traveler...almost as bad as MiG, hahaha. Those are great photos. I know that Anime` is popular over there, but I didn't expect it to be all over signage and stuff! I love all the detail on the roofs, especially the evil looking face with horns! And that sunset is just awesome.

Thanks for the phototravel log. JVD. You take picture sof such unique things. I learn a lot. The artwork in the carvings is so detailed. I bet cemetery space is so limited. Fuchsia, do they bury more than one person in a grave/ In europe I know that in some places they stack the coffins vertically and only the top person gets the headstone, the rest you have to find in the office iin a book. The picture of the trees turning colors reminds me of the main walkway into Central Park where they always film. I bet your parents are so excited you are coming home for the holidays!

Hi Jennifer! It's great to have you back. The colors in your sunset picture are gorgeous, and the trees look like they're on fire. The intricate architecture is impressive. Thanks for telling us about your trip and showing us the pictures. It was so interesting to hear about it and to see life and scenery in Japan!

Oy! I'm not so sure about that, but thank you. I don't know anything about studio photography. I can't adjust settings for lighting or anything like that. I'm strictly a point and shoot person (with a good camera).
Believe it or not, I am *still* trying to put together two freaking clips of Who Wants to Live Forever so I can upload it to YT. I suspect it's just not going to happen until I get different software.

Hi everyone, hope everyone is OK and enjoyed the holidays. We have Chinese New Year coming up at the end of the month and it's not a moment too soon for me. I was in the US over the holidays but didn't get many interesting photos. Here are three that I took after Christmas. The first is just a birdhouse in my godmother's back yard that I took the day after Christmas - I don't know why, but I really like this one. The other two are from New York city, where my husband and I went for a very quick trip (6 hours in total). We arrived at Penn Station, took the subway to 50th Street (where I took the one of Radio City Music Hall); walked to Rockafeller Center (where I took the soldier - these are around the skating area), looked at the Christmas tree (my photos are all blurry); watched the skaters; walked down 5th Ave past Saks and all the beautiful department stores to 44th Street to have drinks with someone I've worked with for 10 years but never met; realized that we need to walk past the the Alogonquin (sp?) Hotel and took a brief trip down memory lane (I stayed there once and love the history of that place, and LOVE Dorothy Parker); had drinks; took a cab downtown to meet friends I met on the internet 10 years ago from Germany but who now live in NYC and whom I haven't seen in 6 years; had a FAB dinner at a Cuban restaurant with them; grabbed another cab to the East Village to see my cousin do a stand-up comic routine (AND HE WAS GOOD! What a nice surprise!); chatted with him outside for a bit and then grabbed another cab back up to Penn Station where we just happened to get the train we wanted in 5 minutes and went home. Whew. I wish I had more photos, but my battery died and I couldn't find the charger, so I took the minimum necessary, lol.

Wow, what a whirlwind trip to NYC! But sometimes those are the most fun and memorable as you pack so much goodness in a small amount of time! Great pictures. I like the birdie house pic, too, especially like the depth of field. And I see some little bits of nesting material hanging out from under the front panel, lol, so it must have been home to a birdie family this past summer!!!

Those are beautiful colors. I can imagine how nice it would be sitting on the shore watching the sun create all those colors!

Wow - you guys posted some fab pics! Thank you! Jennifer - that birdhouse picture is very cool. Birdhouses have so much detail. It's really interesting the way the greens are soft and of a different focus in your photo. The other photos are excellent also - with all the little lights. I love the blue in the Radio City photo.
Mary Beth, that sunset photo is amazing. It's understandable why it makes you feel so peaceful. I can't imagine anything more peaceful than a beach at sunset, with the view, the sound of the waves, and the ocean breeze. As Toni said, the colors are really something.
Toni, is that your house? I really like that house! It would be so relaxing to sit on the porch/breezeway in the rain or look up at the stars at night. The apple blossoms are gorgeous.
