I went to see Twilight today. All I can say is OMG!!! I LOVED the special effects (for those who have read the books you'll LOVE the 'glow' Edward gets in sunshine and those contacts they use to give the beautiful tawny golden irises for the vampires were very cool). The thing that fascinated me was how HOT a movie that had no sex in it could be during the Bella/Edward kissing scenes. Robert Pattinson may not be the most handsome of men (he was Cedric Diggory in two of the HP movies) but he's nice to look at. Peter Facinelli (Jenny Garth's husband) is very nice looking but I think they went overboard on frosting his hair. That's the only real complaint I have from the movie. I was very distracted by Carlisle's hair for some reason.
I want to see it again and probably will. And I'm looking forward to seeing the 3 sequels, especially for books 3 and 4 since the Native American boy, Jake, will have to be played by a new actor in those movies cos there's no way the young man playing him now before his growth spurt will be able to play the part.
They also showed previews of another movie that's coming out n May 2009 that I think I want to see, Star Trek XI. It's about the YOUNG Kirk and Spock when they first served together...well actually probably Dr. McCoy and Scottie too. According to IMDB Kirk is being played by Chris Pine (never heard of him but he looked cute), Spock is played by Zachary Quinto, Scotty is played by Simon Pegg and Karl Urban (from Lord of the Rings and other movies) plays Dr. McCoy. Eric Bana's in the film and...here's a real chuckle, Winona Ryder plays Spock's mother, Amanda. There's even a cameo by the original Spock, Leonard Nimoy, as, what else, Old Spock. The movie is directed by JJ Abrams of LOST fame (he also directs Fringe on Fox TV).
