This headline: DWTS Star Mark Ballas Injured was on my Google hompe page when I signed in this evening. Since it's about the tour from Season 7 maybe I should have posted it there but it also talks about Season 8 a little near the end. If it needs to be moved let me know and I'll delete it here and put it there.
DWTS Star Mark Ballas Injured.
"Dancing with the Stars" professional dancer Mark Ballas was reportedly injured while performing on tour and will take time off to recover.
The 22-year-old dancer announced Saturday night during a show in Los Angeles that he had suffered a groin injury and will need to take "a couple of weeks" off to heal, People magazine reports.
Ballas grimaced in pain as he apologized to the Staples Center crowd for not being able to give his all, while still managing a spirited performance with his partner Kristi Yamaguchi as well as a crowd-pleasing, high-energy hip-hop routine with fellow pros Lacey Schwimmer and Derek Hough, People said.
Ballas is participating in Dancing with the Stars: The Tour, appearing in cities across the United States, and he plans to return to the highly-rated ABC show for its eighth season, beginning March 9.
I guess if the show is starting March 9 then they should be wrapping up the tour and beginning to recruit for Season 8. We should know in a few weeks who will be the Stars partnering with the Pros.
There's one star I'd like to see on there but I'm thinking he's too big a star, an A-lister, for it but I watched one of his movies in which he played a ballroom dance instructor and he was FABULOUS on the Latin dances. They didn't show him doing too much of the ballroom stuff though. If you want to check him out get the movie TAKE THE LEAD. It certainly helps that he's a Spaniard too.

Without looking, is it Antonio Banderas?

That would be my guess too. The only other Spaniard I can think of who I would love to see would be Enrique Inglesias but he doesn't fit all the criteria in your hints Wanda. Still, I think he would be a good choice(or even his cousin MiG!)

You girls are too good. Yes, it's Antonio. If you get the chance to see Take The Lead watch it since it's based on a true story. There actually is a ballroom dance teacher in NYC that took on the detention class in an inner city school and they entered a dance competition following his instructions. I don't know for sure from the movie if any of the couples won their divisions but the dancing was out of this world. Enrique might be easier to get to do the show if he isn't rouring but I think Antonio is way to A-list to ever be persuaded to do the show.
I think MiG would do really well on there too...hmmm wonder how you can suggest people to DWTS for possible celebs.

I think MiG should be the star, and Simone should be the professional partner! I do agree that MiG would probably do very well. He learns everything so well, and even though he says he can't dance, he has always done excellent in his stage work...so I don't believe him when he says that, lol, he is just being modest.

Heads up to all you DWTS fans. Last Thursday there was a headline on Yahoo/E! that the DWTS peeps are negotiating with Stevie Wonder to be one of the stars this coming season that starts on March 9. When they talked to him he said he would really love to do it if they can get all the paperwork taken care of. I think it would be interesting to see how he would do with the Latin dances since those seem to be very sight-oriented dances. I can't imagine him being able to do some of the moves but who knows, I didn't think that a woman with a prosthetic leg could dance either but Heather made a go of it and so did Marlee Matlin. I'm just curious though, I wonder why they always try to incorporate someone with a disadvantage as part of the "stars" on there. And I wonder how long it will be before they announce the line up, who they're bringing in to replace Julieanne, etc. Rehearsals for the show start, I think, on February 9th or the 19th, I can't remember which so they'd better be for getting those "hoofers" lined up, LOL.

I guess Stevie would do ok as long as they didn't lose touch with each other. I can't imagine him going off solo very much.

Newest rumor: Rumors have been swirling about Donny Osmond appearing as a contestant on the next season of "Dancing With The Stars," and now ET has the latest from the man himself.
Donny tells ET: "I did 'The Bonnie Hunt Show' today and I alluded to the fact that I am considering doing 'Dancing With the Stars.' After all I can't let Marie upstage me, however, there is no official offer yet."
According to People.com, Donny let slip during a taping of "The Bonnie Hunt Show" that he is considering following in the footsteps of sister Marie on the hit ABC show.
Donny and Marie's appearance on "The Bonnie Hunt Show" is scheduled to air Tuesday.
Interesting.

It must be hard to decide to do it or not. It's 50/50 whether he would enhance his career, or make a fool of himself. But even with that (ugh) doll dance, Marie did get tons of exposure and beefed up her career with the diet commercials and ET appearances...in fact, Donny benefited almost as much in similar ways and he didn't even have to dance!

This was on my Google homepage when I checked in a few minutes ago:
Lisa Rinna Speculates On Next Season's Dancing With The Stars Cast:
On Sunday night, ABC will reveal the new cast of its hit competition show, "Dancing with the Stars," in interstitals hosted by Tom Bergeron in the network's regularly scheduled programming: "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," "Desperate Housewives" and "Brothers & Sisters."
But, as with all seasons, there has been a lot of advance buzz on who will be putting on their dancing shoes. Former "DWTS" contestant Lisa Rinna drops by ET to give us her take on the names that have been bandied about.
Here is what Lisa had to say:
Donny Osmond: "He is going to be like the male version of Marie Osmond. He will dance his pants off. I think he would be a strong contender."
Jewel: "I have heard the rumor and I love the idea. I think creative people -- singers and performers -- have a leg up -- so to speak -- because they perform."
Leah Remini: "Total rumor. I have not heard that. I love her. She is funny and she is a mom. I love that idea."
Kevin Federline: "I like the idea of Kevin Federline, but he is a professional dancer. That is how he met Britney. I always feel funny about people who have danced."
Lawrence Taylor: "We always have to have a football guy. He is 50. He isn't a young whippersnapper. I love the football players. They are always the most entertaining."
Denise Richards: "I have a feeling she is doing it. A little female intuition. I want her with Louis van Amstel [Lisa's former partner]. He would be great with her."
Heidi Klum: "I think she is so fantastic. She has such a great sense of humor. She is so tall, she needs to be with either Tony or Maksim."
Steve-O: "He has just gone through rehab. Obviously, he would be quite colorful and interesting to watch."
Stevie Wonder: "I don't know what to say. He hasn't had his sight most of his life. It is so hard to [dance] with your sight; I don't know how he would do it."
After all is said and done, Lisa adds, "Come Monday, we will probably be wrong and have to do it all over again."
"Dancing with the Stars" launches its new season on Monday, March 9 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
I'll be watching the Grammys on a different network so I hope those of you that watch the ABC shows will post who they announce so I can check in after the Grammys.

OMG! I know this is probably completely off topic but I wasn't sure where to put it and, since Donny Osmond IS supposedly one of the peeps gonna be on DWTS this just could fit in here even if it doesn't actually deal with DWTS.
While surfing You Tube I came across this video of Donny that was done in the UK last summer when he made an appearance on TOTP. I just can't believe the song he was performing. See what you think. I like MiG's version better, LOL:

well, IMO, Donny sings a song very nicely, he does have good pipes, but MiG lives the song while he is singing it. It reaches inside you more. And I do like the qualities in MiG's voice better.

The official lineup "Dancing with the Stars" used a new approach, announcing its new cast of 13 celebrity dancers throughout ABC's primetime lineup Sunday night instead of on "Good Morning America." The cast: Jewel, Lil' Kim, Shawn Johnson, Steve "The Woz" Wozniak, NFL star Lawrence Taylor, Steve-O, Belinda Carlisle, Nancy O'Dell, Denise Richards, country singer Chuck Wicks, cowboy Ty Murray, comedian David Alan Grier and actor Gilles Marini. hmm. I think Denise Richards is a bit over exposed on TV. I am tired of her. I saw her reality show a co0uple times and she is a pretty lady but sometimes the light doesn't seem to be on in the attic. I guess I am still mad at her for stealing ehr best friends husband. I may be a bit of a hick but it was a matter of honor not to pull that type of thing even in high school dating days. I think I hear somewhere that donnie wants to be oin the 2nd round(the summer version) eta Chuck Wicks, country crooner is Julianne Hough's boyfriend
