Unfortunately it appears the showing in Chicago is going to be the only one on that day cos they certainly aren't showing it on my PBS channels. We get Josh Grobin, oh goody (sarcasm), not that there's anything wrong with Josh Grobin but this and the Johnny Mathis one later that week are fundraisers and I hate how they cut the shows to use them for that.

Ironic that they choose the Chicago market for the debut of this.

Is there a way to catch this on the internet...and pledge? The article says that the more pledges they get, the bigger the market spread in August's showing. Also, are there good sites to post this in the Chi market to drum up watchers?

Handel's Messiah Rocks Premiere Handel's Messiah Rocks will have its broadcast television premiere on June 3 in Chicago - on the local PBS station WTTW at 9:30 pm - before it begins its nationwide broadcast on PBS this August. The more people who watch and pledge in Chicago in June, the wider the distribution will be nationally in August. (HowDoYouHallelujah.com redirects to this site)

I contacted the TV station and asked if this might be streamed online. Unfortunately, it will NOT be. I would ask if someone could tape it, but I think that might be unethical as it will be available on DVD in Nov.

I am def buying the dvd, because I want the professional quality and the artwork. I am crossing my fingers, toes, and eyes that the tour comes here and that a certain rockstar will be playing the Tenor. There are local peeps that would want to see this. I also know of a local high school choir teacher who would jump at the chance to have her kids do this!

Most of you know why I'm not really watching this tonight...but Cengiz and I talked and we decided to tune in from time to time to see if there was any information provided during the breaks because that usually happens on PBS and there is a ton of info. Just a quick FYI, we haven't watched all of it...but MiG does have a very big presence. Some of the productions feel a bit to big for his voice and he seems to be straining a bit...but you'll all get your MiG fix...that's for certain. There is also a brief blurb with MiG doing a PA for PBS. He looks tired. His hair is doing something I can only describe as interesting. Here is the information: Call this number for donations and to get DVD and CD: 773-588-1111 1. Handel's Messiah Rocks LIVE will be here in Chicago at the Auditorium Theatre on Friday, November 20th and Saturday, 21st. I have no idea if Mig will be in it. Call the number above for tickets during the broadcast right now. $85 2. DVD/CD $125 3. DVD $ 75 4. CD $50 Hope that anyone who is interested can contact them tonight and if you can't I hope that you'll be able to continue to make orders later. I think this is going to be re-broadcast tomorrow morning so you may be able to call then as well.

Thank you, Nancy, for getting the info on your Chi Town station and posting it! Lucky Chicago gets to see it first on TV, but Toni and Darrell and Boston also were treated to it live. I bet with all the energy and big sound from the orchestra, the singers had to push it. I think MiG sounds terrific and looks very handsome on the Web site - www.handelsmessiahrocks.com - so I'm sure I'll think it's fabulous when I can see the whole thing. Thanks again for doing this for your Team MiG pals, Nancy! #bearhug# I'll be checking my mailbox twice a day waiting for it to arrive!

Has anyone heard any information regarding the national broadcast of this show? Last I had heard was the possibility that it might be televisied nationally sometime in August. Also, no tour venues or dates have been posted yet, other than the one mentioned above...I am very anxious to see just how close to me it might come, and who the "principal's" might be.

OK, this is interesting to take note of...I wrote to my local pbs station to say that I was disappointed that they were not on the list to be showing Handel's Messiah Rocks as part of the August membership drive as many other areas were doing, yada, yada, yada. I got a response and if you read it all, you can see that if you write, and get others to write, you might accomplish not only getting the show on the air, but maybe pimp our man a bit!!!! Try it! The response to my email is below........ Dear Toni, Thank you for your email regarding HANDEL'S MESSIAH ROCKS. We do have this program recorded and it does not have an airdate as of right now. It did not make our August or September schedules but it quite possibly may make the October schedule that we are currently working on. Being the live nature of the show, it most likely will be scheduled on our WGTE Family Channel on a Wednesday night for Family Concert night. Thank you for your interest, we sure appreciate knowing that there is an audience for this program.
