Lol, it's been over a year and I'm still totally impressed with the performance of one singer in particular. Having the DVD just solidifies my position over and over!

The 12 CDs of Christmas A dozen theater-related holiday recordings featuring Sting, Brent Barrett, LaChanze, Mary McBride, Constatine Maroulis, Brian Stokes Mitchell, J. Robert Spencer, Patrick Wilson, and more. By: Andy Propst · Dec 10, 2009 · New York www.theatermania.com/new-york/news/12-2009/the-12-cds-of-christmas_23409.htmlHandel's Messiah Rocks LaChanze, J. Robert Spencer, and Mig Ayesa are the featured vocalists on this contemporary oratorio, which draws on Handel's 1742 masterpiece for inspiration and makes the original sound as if it were the prequel to Jesus Christ Superstar, complete with razor-like guitar riffs and electrifying vocalizations. LaChanze's work is superlative throughout, but her opening number "He'll Come in Glory" is beyond spine-tingling. Spencer and Ayesa also deliver with passion and soul-stirring intensity, and when this disc, which features orchestrations from Kim Scharnberg and vocals from a 26-member choir, builds to the "Hallelujah" chorus, the effect is aurally dazzling.

This is interesting.....there isn't any announcement to report, it just shows some of the national interest that Handel's Messiah Rocks has generated. MiG was marvelous in the production, and the DVD/CD is getting excellent reviews. This was posted today by The Wichita Eagle (Kansas): "For next season, we've penciled in 'Handel's Messiah Rock' for December, produced by the same people behind 'Superstar' and 'Cats.' We're also looking at the final tour of 'Riverdance' for February-March." I wasn't sure from the story if it meant Handel's Messiah Rocks was in their plans for Wichita in December 2010, or December 2011.

Either way, it's great that more and more people will see the great performer that MiG is.

The dates and venues for the tour are finally posted up on their facebook page... www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/handelsmessiahrocks They are actually coming to Toledo ! If only MiG would be in the tour, I would be there in a heartbeat...and would invite everyone I know to come see it! Hopefully, this will be something we will know early on.
