I hope the weather is better for this than last year! I was so hoping to get to this, but unfortunately the new flights won't be running out of Toledo until mid-July. I am having no luck getting to these MiG gigs.

I'm attempting to figure out how to make the trip north two months in a row. I'll have the extra money for the trip at the end of July but I need an extra $200 to make the trip for this gig. I'm hoping it will work out so I can. I would like to see what MiG's performance COULD have been last year if we hadn't nearly been drowned by the monsoon.

I heard from Wanda and Christina - they had a marvelous time! The weather was gorgeous, and MiG has a sunburn to prove it. I hope he has some aloe handy : )
MiG was joined by our pal Luke Dolahenty and they sounded great together as usual. The set list was:
One Sunset at a Time Need You Here (MiG varied the title slightly) High Human Nature (by Michael Jackson) To Whom It Must Concern Nothin' You Do (the new arrangement) Summer Feelin'
Wanda and Christina were ready to crash, so we didn't talk a long time, but it was fun hearing about their day. They can tell you more within the next couple of days.

Thanx for relaying the message! It sounds like a much better day than last year, lol. Looks like MiG and Luke are quite the duo these days! I can't wait to hear Nothin' You Do in the new arrangement...especially since I love the new "Blown Away" so much!

Wow...what a trip. Before I got to Christina's I asked myself several times if the hassel I was going through to get to see MiG this time was worth it...you see, I got lost about 30 miles from Christina's and drove around for FOUR HOURS trying to find the road I needed to be on. My cell battery had died so I couldn't call any one to come and get me or talk me in. I finally found a police officer at 2 a.m. to show me how to get the to road I needed to be on and arrived at Brian and Christina's at 2 a.m. Suffice it to say that my answer, every time I asked myself it it was worth it, came back YES each time. After a few hours sleep we got up, showered and made our way to Jersey City. Christina and I ran into Ramon who gave us a big kiss on the cheek and a hug then said MiG was resting because he had marched in the parade that morning. We just walked around to different vendors and looked at stuff waiting for MiG to appear. He started about 4 p.m. and played for about a half hour. I'll write more later after I upload my pix to photobucket. Here's a vid or two to keep you happy til I finish.

Wanda, I think your next 'toy' you need to purchase is one of those GPS navigators, lol. My daughter has one, and even she and her 'always lost' daughter can go directly where they need to be with one of those!!! If even she can keep from getting lost, then they are def worth the price, lol.

Yup, a gps is definitely what you need Wanda. I use mine tons and you could borrow it before some of your ventures if you happen to be driving through Columbus and my so doesn't need it. I am sooo happy you gave him Kay's Blogs. I would cry if someone ever wrote anything that nice about me ;D'
Those vids are sp great-being otuside in the sun and not quite as much background noise, they were a real treat and He and Luke do so well together. I don't know why they only give him 30 minutes. You would think they would want to hear more more more. They were an outtanding 30 minutes to be sure

The weather was PERFECT!!!! The temp was only about 80 or so and the breeze coming in off the Hudson was just right. You'll notice that there are times the vid looks a little shaky in some of them. That's because there were little gusts of wind that actually affected the camera. And I did say camera. I was using my digital because I had left the adapter to charge the camcorder in Huntington. We arrived in Jersey City about 2 p.m., praying that MiG had not already performed and were very relieved when Ramon told us that he was going to be on later in the afternoon so Christina and I could relax a little. Christina headed straight for the food stalls. Since I didn't know what dishes had soy sauce in them and which didn't I chose not to eat any of the food. Most of it looked really good but soy sauce makes me deathly ill and I wasn't going to go all that way and miss MiG becuse I was in some bathroom (probably at the Hyatt-not a portaloo) being sick. We watched some of the performances, sat on the steps of the bank building out of the sun and went to the Hyatt to use the facilities all the while looking for Brian who had let us out then went to find a parking place. I guess we looked for him for about an hour or so before we found him. They had opened the boardwalk extension of the plaza at Exchange Place that they were working on last year and it was absolutely awesome. Christina didn't want to walk in the sun because it was giving her a headache so Brian and I took a tour of the new seating area and little gazebo stage before starting back to where Christina was. Brian pointed over to my left and said, "Look, there's the Statue of Liberty." Wow...what an awesome sight to see the Lady's Lamp high above the skyline. Just breathtaking. Unfortunately, my camera was in my bag back with Christina. Oh well, maybe I'll get a shot of her someday. It was about 3:30 or so when we got back to Christina and the guy who had been doing the announcing said that MiG would be coming on in a few minutes so Christina and I made our way to as close to the stage as we could get without standing in front of everyone and saw MiG come out on the stage. His keys had already been set up then I saw Luke right behind him and my heart leaped...I was sooo happy that MiG had brought Luke with him since they sound so great together. Plus I had a bone to pick with Luke anyway but we'll get to that in a little bit. The announcer introduced MiG, as you've heard in the One Sunset vid I've already posted and we were off and running. The crowd was very appreciative of MiG's performance and there was lots of cheering and hand clapping. I guess that Christina and I were the only ones where we were that knew MiG's songs. I sang along with each of them but not loud enough to pick up on the camera, LOL. I've reserved two vids for Kay to post on the Team MiG You Tube as exclusives, Human Nature and Nothin' You Do. Anyway, the only pictures I took were during the set up and a couple after with MiG and Luke. Here they are: Luke: MiG warming up the keys: Checking the playlist: The intro: Me and Luke: Christina, MiG and Me: (I should have gotten in my bag and gotten my sunglasses out too). and finally Me and MiG: You can't tell it in the pictures but MiG was a bit sunburned from marching in the pareade Sunday morning. He looked well and rested. And Luke is just adorable. Toni was so kind as to printout and take two photos (8 x 10) to NYC when she and Darrell went back the week after the 8 Mile Creek show in March to have Luke autograph them for me. Well, from what I gather, that was the first autographs Mr. D had been asked to sign. He signed very nicely with the exeption of one problem, he wrote on his face on both photos. I was going to tell MiG to tell Luke NEVER write on your face when you're doing autographs but, since Luke was there with MiG, I told him myself, very very politely. He thanked me for brining that to his attention and gave me a big hug, promising that I if I bring him another one to sign he won't write on his face. After the picture Christina took of Luke and me I told him to expect to sign it in August, LOL. He said "And not on the face, right?" before he and MiG took the instruments to the car. MiG came back to tell the three of us (Christina, Brian and me) goodbye and to give us all final hugs and kisses. We were only a few steps behind them as Christina and I made use of the Hyatt's facilities one last time before heading home. Luke was the chauffeur. Since this post is already long, I'll add the other videos in another post in just a minute.

Here's the other vids. And I have to say I LOVE the fact that Luke is a "draper." By that I mean that he likes to drape his arm over your shoulders.
