Here are some of the free apps I find really neat. iHeart radio...free radio on your phone, lots of different kinds of channels. bump...if you want to send stuff to another person who is near you, you just bump the two devices together and it transfers. free Wifi...wherever you are, this will tell you where the closest wifi area is. text+...since I don't pay for unlimited texting, this allows you to send texts for free to most phones. Tweetdeck, facebook, myspace, photobucket...these allow you to go directly to your place with just one tap. MiG...of course!!! I just wish they would get the 'buy' part fixed up to work. last but not least...BubbleWrap, which seems to impress everyone the most of all, hahaha! There are lots more but this is just the beginning. I have 4 pages of apps, some of which are just because they are free and mildy amusing, some are useful once in a while, and some which are pretty dumb and will be deleted.

Fun thread, Toni! And useful too, especially since I haven't had much time yet to peruse many apps. It would take a while anyway, with that many thousands of apps for the iPhone! It's nice to hear what others find beneficial or fun.

Just discovered another app I like...it's called Fluent News. It shows top news from nearly every major newpaper and news service and you can tap to read the whole story. You can search, save, select catagories.

two more...whatsapp, $.99 ... an iPhone to iPhone (or touch) sms/chat/im Ping!...same but free whatsup is currently much better but Ping! is free, lol. downside is that you can only connect with other iPhone/touch peeps. Upside is that you can connect free all ove the world, no charges involved.

a few new goodies. bar code reader (there are several different ones)... reads bar codes and gives ou prices in other stores so you know if you are getting a reasonable deal. AAA roadside - easy way to get roadside assistance, or find nearby repair places. AAA discounts - see where near your location you can get an aaa discount tv guide - especially since I don't take a paper tv.com - cbs shows on your phone

Speaking of apps, I find that using the MiG app is a lot faster and easier than going to the website. You don't have to wait for the splash page to load, then click into the index page, then click to the tour page to see what listed. You can just go to the app, click on tour, and you are there!

Yes, there is an Olympic app....nbcolympics. It's quite nice, you can just tap in and check up on what's happening, happened, going to happen, etc. Apolo Ohno tweets a lot, and the app has olympilc tweets, lol.

I am sure most of you have seen at least the news of the World Cup in South Africa...and heard all the hoopla about the odd buzzing sounds created by the vuvuzela that everyone plays.
"there is an app for that"
I had to get it so I can annoy everyone. It really does sound like the real thing!

just noticed that there is an ad at the top of the page about a pro-board app, so I got it. Not a bad app, it makes it much easier to access the proboard forums because it logs you on automatically.
