Well, we had a nice beverage at the theater bar, and now we are ensconsed in our seats of choice. We decided to sit 2/3 of the way up so we wouldn't have to crane our necks up and could see the whole screen without having to move our head from side to side. The theater was nearly empty when we first sat down but it's over half full now and people are coming in fast! Only 1/2 hour until curtain time.

Well, the theater filled up in the last half hour. Not every single seat was filled, but there weren't many left open. I did enjoy the show. I think it was pretty well done, and it was nice to meet some of the performers who were to be in the tour. From what they showed, it would have been a really fantastic show live and done very well in it's tour. The Thriller part would have almost been worth the cost of the ticket in itself! Sad that it's not to be. It was amazing to see just how much work goes into a production. At this stage, everyone already had learned all their parts, so had been working on it for weeks. This was to put it all together, and Michael was totally in charge of how it was to be. He was so quitely in charge, and you totally must hand it to him for knowing exactly what to do the get the results he was thinking of. He was truly a master of his craft. The things that were a bit off-putting were how even those close to him seemed to treat him with such kid gloves...no @ss slapping or even double-entrendres to be found! The closest thing I saw to normal young male behavior was when the keyboardist wasn't quite getting what effect Michael wanted and finally said, Oooh, you want me to give that section more bootie, why didn't you say so! Michael laughed and said that was funny! I think that may have been the only time they showed Michael laugh. It was amusing to see the outfits Michael wore for rehearsals, eveything from military jacket, to sparkle pants, to baggy sweats. Um, I hate to say anything, but I really miss his facial look from the thriller or billy jean era. He re-arranged several of his songs into very different tempos from the original, all very well done. And the films done to play on the backdrop screen for him to perform in front of....fab, just fab. It's just too bad that if it isnt on this film, it wont be seen. They talked to a costumer about the billy jean costume, how the shoes and clothes would light up at appropriate times...but it was never shown. That would have been awesome. There was a funny bit ... a russian dancer was giving the cast a workshop...and this part was about "the grab"...there was some discussion of different techniques. This lady was hilarious, she didn't mince words, and got the cast...as well as the movie audience, laughing. Who would have thought that there was a 'proper' way to do the grab, lol. All in all, I'm glad we got to see the movie.

I guess Mississippi doesn't host a huge fan base. Since it was only a 2 week run I bought my tickets for a Nov. 1st viewing as soon as the went on sale in October. I could've waited, there only about a dozen of us in the theater. Worked out for me great b/c I didn't have to tell somebody to move their big head out of my way I loved the movie, loved it! Ryan was mesmerized for the most part, it did get to be too long for him and he began to get tired but never asked to go home. There were moments when my eyes teared up and there were moments when I laughed. Mostly I felt thankful. Thankful for the footage and thankful to those who put this film together into a movie to share with the world and us fans. I've never seen MJ perform live and would have never been able to go abroad to see such a show, so "This is it" gave me that experience. What an amazing show it would have been, all I can say is #omg# #faint# #thyahoo# #bowdown-1# #thhappy096# #bfantastic1wp7ct-1# They say b/c it is rehearsal that he is not putting his all into it. Wow! To think he has MORE to put into it! He still had it; the voice, the moves, the energy. It was amazing to watch and I'm so glad I saw it on the big screen.

I"m glad you went to see it! I think the show would have been such a big hit in Britain that it would have ended up touring here in the states, even if only in a few big cities.
