Whew, what a lightning trip to NYC can do to an old body! But it was worth it, especially now that I have slept in a bed for 8 hours (trying to doze in a bus doesn't really do it), eaten a real meal (just can't get hungry when traveling), and gotten back on schedule with life in general. Seeing Rock of Ages and a bunch of Team MiG members was awesome...I wish I could do this often, and even though I"d much rather fly, taking the Tracy's Trips bus made it affordable! I'll have to apologize for no photos, but my camera had died. Even new batteries couldn't get it going, so I have to depend on the others to post some photos. I brought my buddy from work, as she had never been in NYC before. She loved the City and totally loved the show. She thinks Dan Domenech is the perfect Drew! She saw the show in Detroit and she says Dan does a better job with his cute innocence and great voice. We caught Tony Le Page filling in as Lonnie, and he did a great job. Last time I saw him fill in as Dennis, seems he can do just about any role! MiG, Rebecca, and Dan were just awesome, it's amazing how they can pull out such great performances every show! The audience wasn't all that great, matinee audiences often are more subdued than the night audiences. But by the second act, with all of us moved up to empty seats at or near the front, we were able to get the audience going, and the cast seemed to notice and appreciate! Gee has a little story in that regard but won't be able to recap until their computer problems get sorted out. I must say that MiG seems to have taken over as "the one" who pulls in the most stage door fans. He gets a big hand when he comes out, and of course, at the saturday we were there, there was this extra gang of fans to see him. The whole cast is very sweet and friendly so the stage door is always a lot of fun. Oh, another high point was that Chris Cicchino from the tour filled in as lead guitarist. I love Joel, but it was realy fun to see Chris again. Right when Arsenal comes out (before the show actually starts) we saw Chris and yelled out something like Yay it's Chris! He flashed a big grin! At the end of the show, I had moved to stand at the front of the stage, and when it was just the band doing their thing I flashed the rock horns with the "salaam" bows and one of the guitarists came over and gave me a pic! Woo. Another tour member filled in for Hertz (german dad and bad guy) and I got to have a nice chat with him at stage door. He is a really nice guy and he can project his voice so well he hardly needs a mic! Well, gotta get going here, wish I had some pics to post. Hopefully, some of the others will be putting up their recaps and pics soon.

well first of all I want to say that I have a 'cheap seats' flight sale notification set up toni -- when the seats come on sale, I'll let ya know!!!
Kay, MB, Wanda, Heidi, Christina, Toni, Therese and Bev!!!! Wow what a great day!!!
After a bit of a rough start for me (I almost missed my plane!) it just exploded!!! I braved it and took the subway into the city meeting up with everyone at the WTC -- checked it out - noticed the shoot location for the 'pirates' challenge on Celeb Apprentice!!! Then it was uptown to the theatre for my ticket and lunch! I have never had brisket before -- LOVE it!!! Junior's has an awesome brisket sammy -- SO good!
After some doing I got a front row seat - left isle ~ perfect!!! By intermission we had moved Heidi, Wanda, Christina, Toni and Bev up either to front row or nearby!!! MB and Kay weren't so far back either!
Ah toni -- the 'story' -- are you referring to my gab with Jose (Regina) and Joey Calveri at intermission? (from the tour - and yes the tour cast was all over this show this weekend - we JUST missed Patrick who was going on that night!!!!!!) or a certain drunkard??
lol....I'll go with the drunk........seems Stacee can't 'fall' ON peeps anymore - so he stumbles and falls on the floor -- well he did that right next to us -- because we were SO close to the stage, I don't think he actually knew we were sitting in those seats. I chuckled and said 'hey Stacee -- need a hand?'....toni was just laughing!! He looked up -- grinned and said 'oh you guys!'.....very funny!!! When he 'barfed' on the girl next to me, she jumped about 10 feet - heehee.....I didn't want to ruin the 'surprise' for her!!!
Stage door was VERY busy for a matinee and yes MiG certainly attracts a crowd!!! He did the usual signing of 'stuff' for peeps and had toni ASSUME THE POSITION -- heehee (I just had to say it toni!!) and hammed it up in true MiGGy fashion!!!
After grabbing a bite to eat nearby we met back up with MiG for goodbyes as Kay was the only (lucky) one who was staying for the night performance. My shuttle to JFK picked me up right at the HH and I was back at the airport waiting for clearance to head home!!!
I would say that going to just ONE show was emotionally difficult - I think if I were going to travel some - I dunno - 1400 kilometres return, I need to see at least two shows! LOl...
..Yes My name is Gee and I'm a Rockaholic!!!!
hugs gee

MiG made an announcement on Facebook tonight: MiG's final ROCK OF AGES performance... Visit www.mig-music.com/news for details and stay tuned for upcoming news on what's next on the MiG horizon! His last performance is September 25th. This is such bad news for fans of Stacee Jaxx and Rock of Ages. He will be very hard to replace. I bet MiG has something amazing to announce for his next venture. Thanks MiG for all the fun we have had getting to know Rock of Ages, the amazing tour and Broadway Casts, and watching you continue to grow and develop as an artist.

Finally getting a chance to put my thoughts down and post here about the whirlwind trip to NYC to see MiG and ROA. First, though, I will have to say that I'm getting too old for not sleeping, LOL. It was well worth the whole trip just to get a chance to see MiG again and to have him sign my stuff (the Messiah CD he signed was for me). I was also sooooo glad I got to bring Heidi with me. This was kind of a graduation present for her since she stuck to her guns and finished high school with a diploma. It's been a rough summer for her and this was a bright spot in it. She absolutely ADORES MiG. The bus trip was out of this world. I had never done anything like that, knowing it would be such a whirlwind. The trip was fun even if the air conditioner in the back of the bus broke down and made it difficult tosleep. The weather in NYC turned out to be FABULOUS... not too hot and not rainy (which was predicted). We got to the city and were let off the bus in Rockefeller Center right outside where they film the Today Show so we hung out for a while and watched some of the pre-show stuff. Here's a pic of the Columbus Crew: Heidi, Toni, Me, MB, Therese and Bev Toni, Bev, Heidi and I left MB and Therese and made our way around the block to McDonald's for breakfast before continuing to the subway to go to the Staten Island Ferry, passing under the sign for Radio City Music Hall on the way. We took the R train to the Staten Island Ferry. We didn't get a chance to go on the Ferry because it would have taken too long and we had to go meet up with Gee. From there walked toward Wall Street and visisted Trinity Episcopal Church before heading over to the WTC to meet up with Gee. We made our way around the site then headed for the Helen Hayes in order for Gee to get her ticket and for me to pick up the ones I had ordered and had waiting at the box office. I took soms pix outside as we walked up to the theater: Marquee The full-sized poster beside the door Close up of MiG as Stacee Jaxx from the middle of the large poster by the door. Closer shot of the poster by the door. After a food stop at Junior's where we were joined by Kay and Christina, we made our way back to the theater for the matinee. Heidi and I made our way to our seats in the Mezzanine and the beginning of the show. We could see where everyone else was downstairs near the stage (the Helen Hayes is a very small venue). At intermisison, thanks to Gee and the others, Heidi and I were able to make our way down to sit with Christina for the second half. When Drew (Dan) sat on the edge of the stage his foot almost hit Heidi's knee, that's how close we were to the stage. When the show was over I scooped up as much of Dennis' "angel dust" (little squares of mylar) as I could then we made our way up to the lobby to meet the others and go to the stage door. Of course we gave MiG a HUGE (well as huge as 9 peeps can) ovation when he came out. He looked behind him as if he didn't know it was for him but had a HUGE smile on his face. We got to spend a few minutes with him before he had to run to do something before coming back for the evening show. He said he'd be back by 7 so that we could finish up our photos, etc. before he had to go in and the Columbus Crew had to head back to catch the bus. At that point, Heidi and I set off on our own to find a hot dog vendor so Heidi could get "a dirty water dog" a friend of ours who grew up in The Bronx told her to get. On our way to do that we found a Ruby Tuesday's a couple blocks away and decided to eat there instead, just to compare it with our Ruby's here, which it beat all to heck (the NYC one has cherry wood behind the bar and a marble-topped bar DOWNSTAIRS as well as a beautiful staircase leading to the second floor with another bar). After we had a bite to eat we headed back to the stage door, arriving shortly before MiG got back. Heidi and I were, I think, the only ones who didn't get a chance for photo ops earlier. MiG obliged us. Me & MiG Heidi & MiG I asked MiG to sign my Messiah cd. Then I whipped out something he hadn't seen in years. I still had a copy of his CD Sampler of MiG from 2006 and asked him to sign that as well. He laughed and signed it as well as my messanger bag. Heidi and I took our final hugs and stepped back to allow MiG to spend time with the others. Before we left him, however, I asked him if I could take pictures of his tattoos. He grinned and said "Sure" Here are the tats (which I'm glad are not real): The tattoo MiG has on his right forearm is a little to revealing to post a picture of here. He calls it his "baby" but had smudged it a little after the matinee so he was going to have to have it retouched before the evening show. Personally, it was my least favorite of the tats. My favorite one is the last one posted here, the sparrow. It looks just like the one Johnny Depp has (can't remember if its on his arm or his chest) except MiG's doesn't have the name "Jack" across (or below) it. Butterfly-Right Shoulder Star-Right inner bicep Sparrow-left shoulder It was a wonderful trip, the show was great, the company was great and a fun time was had by all. I'd love to do it again and look forward to it. Who wants to join me? Unfortunately, I don't really want to see ROA in NYC without MiG in it so the next trip will probably be to see Phantom of the Opera (which is right across the street from the Helen Hayes) since that's Heidi's favorite musical. I also just found out a couple days ago that the 2nd national tour of ROA will be making a one-night only stop 12 miles away in Ashland, Kentucky, so Heidi and I are going to go to it. Chris Cicchino is again Guitar 1 for Arsenal. I can't wait. It won't be as good as seeing MiG as Stacee but the music should be really good. I've checked out the members of the new touring cast and the new Drew seems to really have the pipes. Sorry for the rambling.

I like attachments, the pages load faster and then you can just click on the pic to enlarge! Only problem is resizing them to be under the 1024 kb file size limit! Attachments:
