The banners are made in a photo editing program. I just use PictureIt that comes free with XP. I never have figured out how to use the windows free program called Paint! As for code, that's just the tags you use to post pictures, you know, the tags inside the brackets...

As Nancy says, too bad I didn't think of this for Rockband, lol. We could go crazy with absolut ads for MiG, lol. I have tons of ideas for them, I only hope I can get time to make a few of them. And some, I have no idea of how I would do them with what little I know about my editor, lol. These would have been perfect for RBL! Can't wait to see what else you do and where else you'll pop up. Way to StreetTeam for our MiG! I love the clicky on the image. I'm still trying to figure out how to do this with my photo program. You make it sound ez Don't you find it completely amazing how much html and graphics stuff we have learned & are still learning all because of MiG?

rose, the clicky doesn't have anything to do with photo editing. You can make any graphic a clicky with the BB code. Here is the code for a clicky pic, minus the stars of course.....[*url=URL OF DESTINATION][*IMG]URL OF PICTURE[*/IMG][*/url]

Nancy has tried to teach this to me and still I am blown away. Very frustrating. I don't understand why I can't seem to catch on to this. Rose I feel your pain!

Jaunty, just read the code and you can figure out what goes where. You can substitute any site url and any picture url. Run your mouse over the banner and click The code is just like putting a picture in the board, but with an extra code added. Here is the exact code I used...stars added to so it won't actually work. Your banner is great, Toni! It's so creative and fun!
Jaunty, you'll get the hang of it! It helps to have a sample like Toni posted, and replacing her image code with yours. If you have a question I can call you, even though I'm not an expert by any means!

Still no luck I tried once and I think I will retire and come back and try again. I won't give up! I have to get this. It's really bothering me. The dumb thing is I have done it before and it worked but then I stopped doing it for a long time and now I'm having trouble "getting it" Toni I wanted to tell you how adorable that banner you made is. Very cute #clap# Thank you for your help, I'll keep trying.
Kay...that's really sweet of you to volunteer to help. But fair warning Nancy has already been there. It's a frustrating struggle. I thought I understood it when I hung up with her but I guess I missed something. I can't believe how dumb I feel. I know this is simple and will probably slap myself when I finally figure it out. But I will conquer this! I'll copy Toni's code and try to use it with out the stars. Is that all that I need for it to work? Thank guys..I really appreciate your help. Sorry I'm just slow!

Yes, that should work. On this bulletin board at least. On Rockband, to have a linking picture, you have to enclose the site url in quotes.....go figure, lol. Anyway, Jaunty, it helps to keep a list of codes and where to use them, ie...for linking pictures on TM, code is [*url=(url of site)][*img](url of picture)[*/img][*/url] But for linking pictures on RockBandLounge, the code is [*url="(url of site)"][*img](url of picture)[*/img][*/url]. obviously you don't have to copy down the stars, lol. I have no idea why Rockband required quotes when TM doesn't.

Thanks so much for trying to explain how to do this clicky thing. Some questions #hidingunderchair# sorry Are the instructions for: -- making a clicky text in place of a long url? -- making a graphic clicky? -- placing a graphic clicky on a banner (graphic)? Is the process the same? Let's say I create a banner and on the banner I want a clicky - like you did with the absolute - Do I do all this before I upload to photobucket? Do I create them separately & upload to photo bucket? If yes, then how do I get one photo bucket image placed on another photobucket image? I found these instructions at gather.com for doing a clicky in place of writing out an entire link <a href="yourpageurl">your text</a>why does the above example look so different ? ok.... I'm going to take time to study all the suggestions & give it a try - maybe, I'll get lucky. After all, two years ago I had not one clue as to how to make a post on TM or any other forum. Look what MiG has done, who knew there would also be educational benefits to being a MiG fan?

Rose, I will try to answer all your questions. It's hard to be sure to answer correctly because I am also a beginner. The code I put in the post is for a graphic that takes you to another site when you click on it. By graphic, I mean any type of picture, banner, drawing, whatever you might have on your photobucket. So your second and third question are actually the same thing and yes, that is what that code does. The code you have in blue is html code for having words that you click on to take you to another site. No graphic is involved. That would be for your first question, but not just for a long url, it's for any url, but in html, not bb code. The bb code for that would be [*url=your page url] your text [*/url] None of this is done before photobucket. Photobucket is merely a storage for your graphics, and you put the url of the exact photobucket picture into the code. The code to make your picture take you to another site (a clicky) is done as you write the post. And as for putting one picture over, under, inside, another picture...that must be all done with your graphics/photo editing program before uploading into photobucket. It's only the finished product that gets uploaded. But really, you already know most of this because you have made posters and you have put graphics into posts.

You do enclose the url as such, but you have to nest the code for the site with the code for the pic. [*url=][*img] [*/img][*/url] Be sure they are in this order. Look at the code for Jaunty's banner to see what I mean. You are telling the bulletin board that your want to send to xxx site (url=) using xxx picture(img). Does that make sense? Then you have to close the commands with the /tags to tell the computer you are done now.
