I love Nicholas Cage... he's very eccentric but COOL in a weird way ... yep yep!! Well.. here's my new Movie suggestion... "The Departed"!!... it's awesome... but I should have been able to write the ending.. LOL (I seem to do that alot)... I just pretend how I wanted it to end.. Leo did an AMAZING JOB!!! he's my BOY afterall... I haven't seen Blood Diamond yet... and he's nominated for an Oscar in that one... I'm really surprised he wasn't nominated for "Departed" The character that Matt Damon plays is SOOOO rotten I don't think I'll ever be able to watch him without disliking him in a movie LOL I guess that means he did a good job! this movie is NOT for the faint of heart tho... it's rather a LOT like the Soprano's so if you don't like "Shoot em up's" and foul language ... it wouldn't be for you. I don't even normally like that type of movie... but there are SOO MANY great actors in this one.. one's I didn't even know were in it... like Mr. Martin Sheen (i love that guy) I mean it's a REALLY allstar cast... And I'm NEVER one to pass up a SCORSESE film!! BUT, if you like THRILLER's ... let me tell you.. I thought I was gonna have an anxiety attack just WATCHING this movie!! it's VERY tense... I loved it!! Now I'm just looking forward to seeing Blood Diamond.. anyone seen it? Who's gonna watch the OCSCAR'S?!!! Who ya'll pullin for?!! and etc... Or should we start a thread?

ooooh...
I just got through watching Blood Diamond...
#punten#
NOW I see why Leo was nominated for best actor for Blood Diamond and not Departed... this movie was EXCELLENT. IT should have made movie of the year...
Leo of course was spectacular but also the supporting actor (I don't know his name)...
This story bothers me so much... "Conflict Diamonds"...

OMG!! I watched Blood Diamond this weekend! Leo looked so yummy in this movie. Loved the accent! This was a really, really good movie. I also watched Deja Vu, with Denzel Washington. Very cool movie. Someone has a very vivid imaginaiton! You've got to watch twice

Has anyone seen Ocean's 13 yet? I'm curious as to whether it's as good as the trailers. George Clooney just looks sooooooo sexy.

Wanda, I just saw Ocean's 13 yesterday and was planning to mention it here! I'd say it is definitely worth seeing, but I don't think it's as good as Ocean's 11. The previews show some of the best parts, but overall there don't seem to be as many laughs as in the first one--and most of them come later in the movie. But of course, the eye candy is nice. I did like this movie better than Ocean's 12. I have Deja Vu now but haven't watched it yet. So, it's one of those you have to watch a couple of times to figure it out? I saw "The Prestige" recently and that was another one of those types of movies. It was good though. Joyce

Joyce No, you'll figure it out half way through the movie, but It'll take another look b/c you'll be looking for things you may not have noticed before

Just wanted to let everyone know that I went to see Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix yesterday. I have to say it is the best one by far. Darker than the other four and you really get to see some acting chops from the kids, who are young adults now. Daniel Radcliffe just gets cuter and cuter the older he gets. I see him having a very long acting career if that's what he wants to do. I would have liked to have seen him in Equus. I saw the pictures but I would have liked to see the real thing.
Suffice it to say you will HATE Delores Umbridge AND Fudge. You'll LOVE Fred and George Weasley and you'll almost feel sorry for Snape toward the end.

I've always sorta liked Snape - he's not as bad as his bark... what is Equus? Ames: Equus was a play that was done in the 70s about a young man who blinds 6 horses in a stable where he works. It's a very adult play that includes nudity and Daniel played the male lead in it. He said in an interview I just saw last night that the first two shows with the nudity scared him to death but it didn't bother him after that. His comment was that the first time you're nude in front of 1000 people is terrifying but it's no big deal after that. I can promise you it DEFINATELY was NOT Harry Potter. Wanda

THE GOLDEN COMPASS I've not seen this movie so I'm not giving a personal review. However, I'm showing other's reviews and the reason that I WON'T see it! Apparently this movie is the first part of a trilogy, written by an atheist, and it is directed at children. In the end of the movie, the children kill God. Read www.snopes.com/politics/religion/compass.aspI find it hard to believe that Nicole Kidman would be a part of such movie, but snopes.com is usually reliable when it comes to revealing urban legends.

Rhonda! Thanks for the heads up on this one. I surely won't be watching that! That is HORRIBLE! I am so sick of hollywood and their attacks. Why do they think it is ok to attack Christianity? Attacking any other religion would never be tolerated. #angry-1#

Attacking any other religion would never be tolerated. #angry-1# A MILLION TIMES #ditto# That IS horrible - and aimed at CHILDREN?! Not everyone would want to because it is a Catholic site... but there is a movie review site by US Catholic Bishops and it is suitable for anyone to use... I know I'm an adult LOL... but any rated R movie that is labeled "O" on their site which means "Morally Offensive" DOES NOT get watched at my house. Anything against Christianity quickly gets that O. In case anyone is interested in ever using it (it's pretty BIG as far as movies reviewed) www.usccb.org/movies/I always check there especially for horror/thriller movies. I love scary movies but not when they are truly about evil... blah blah. There's so many times I'll watch a scary movie and then be MAD at myself for subjecting myself to such filth. Now I can make sure before I rent or watch! I sure won't be going to see that movie either Rhonda. Thank you for the heads up! You know, I'm always surprised at some actors/actresses for what they are comfortable doing on screen .... It's a SHAME.
