Thanks Ames, I've bookmarked that website. That's the kind of info that I want to know before I see a movie!

That's a great site Amy! I see Rob Zombie's remake of [glow=orange,2,300]Halloween[/glow] got an "O". That film is crude, vulgar and has enough F-bombs to make it a rap song!

#punten# #bestpost# #heart_smiley# #ditto# And I have to ditto both Rose and Ames. I had no plans to see the movie anyway cos it didn't look like my kind of movie... it looked like a mean-spirited Narnia (oh, the author would hate that, wouldn't he?) so I had no desire to see it...And I'm not a big Nicole Kidman fan either so that was another strike against it. Now that I know the story behind the story/author I will definately avoid it. Thanks for the info Rhonda.

I'm sure it's VERY true... wouldn't watch it... you know - there was a time when I was YOUUUUUNG that I thought Rob Zombie was sorta cool (some of his songs)... then he started making movies and I'm like... oh man... he's seriously sick... #yuck# I'm glad ya'll like the site I use it a lot. It's not like overly conservative but keeps me from the yucky stuff

I love Nicholas Cage... he's very eccentric but COOL in a weird way ... yep yep!! Well.. here's my new Movie suggestion... "The Departed"!!... it's awesome... but I should have been able to write the ending.. LOL (I seem to do that alot)... I just pretend how I wanted it to end.. Leo did an AMAZING JOB!!! he's my BOY afterall... I haven't seen Blood Diamond yet... and he's nominated for an Oscar in that one... I'm really surprised he wasn't nominated for "Departed" The character that Matt Damon plays is SOOOO rotten I don't think I'll ever be able to watch him without disliking him in a movie LOL I guess that means he did a good job! this movie is NOT for the faint of heart tho... it's rather a LOT like the Soprano's so if you don't like "Shoot em up's" and foul language ... it wouldn't be for you. I don't even normally like that type of movie... but there are SOO MANY great actors in this one.. one's I didn't even know were in it... like Mr. Martin Sheen (i love that guy) I mean it's a REALLY allstar cast... And I'm NEVER one to pass up a SCORSESE film!! BUT, if you like THRILLER's ... let me tell you.. I thought I was gonna have an anxiety attack just WATCHING this movie!! it's VERY tense... I loved it!! Now I'm just looking forward to seeing Blood Diamond.. anyone seen it? Who's gonna watch the OCSCAR'S?!!! Who ya'll pullin for?!! and etc... Or should we start a thread? I just saw The Departed for the first time and WOW!!!! #punten# Ames, I'm gushing right there with ya!! Sensational!! I'm not a big fan of 'shoot 'em ups' either, but in this one, it just works. I want to dish about it some more!! I'm so glad you answered your phone. ;D

Well, I've been to see two new movies in the last week. Last Sunday I went to see AWAKE mainly because it starred Hayden Christensen (Anakin Skywalker) who I adore. It was one of those movies that just when you think it's the end there's a twist that you figure out just before it's sprung on you. All I can say is it isn't as scary as the trailer makes you think it will be and it isn't gory. The part I like best about it is that it ends right....very cool movie that I'll probably go see again.
The second one wasn't a big enough draw for them to put at the main theatre at Pullman Square so it was at the discount movie theatre across town. I went there to see ACROSS THE UNIVERSE yesterday. I love the music of the Beatles and was intrigued by the trailer I had seen recently. I'm still puzzling about this film. The music was awesome and most of the actors were people I had never heard of but they could sing very well...It takes some time to figure out the premise of the movie cos they break into Beatles songs as what I felt were weird times...The main characters are Jude (a Liverpool dock worker), Lucy and Maxwell (privileged brother and sister), Sadie, JoJo and Prudence. Jude becomes fast friends with Max and falls in love with Lucy and the story goes on from there....my big shockers were the cameos...Bono appears ad Dr. Robert and sings I AM THE WALRUS (during what seems to be an acid trip, LOL) I wasn't sure it was him til the credits cos he didn't have his accent. The other was a multicharacter cameo by Joe Cocker-he was a bum, a pimp and something else all during the course of singing COME TOGETHER...as you can see, it's a little strange but it was great to hear different takes on HELP, REVELUTION, ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE, WHILE MY GUITAR GENTLY WEEPS, STRAWBERRY FIELDS and many others. I may have to see it again to determine if it's one of those movies you need to be high to see, LOL...not something I'd condsider. Maybe I'll just buy the soundtrack and forget the visuals...

Wanda I've wanted to see Awake, just haven't had a chance. Thanks for the recommendation. As far as Across the Universe, I saw it when it first came out and LOVED IT!!! I'm a big Beatles fan too. I thought it was very well done, very well thought out, and the use of songs in the movie was very clever. I thought the cameos were great too (I had heard Bono was in it before I saw it ) I would definitely recommend it, especially if you're a Beatles fan. I can't wait for it to come out on DVD because it will be a movie that I own.

ooooh... I just got through watching Blood Diamond... #punten# NOW I see why Leo was nominated for best actor for Blood Diamond and not Departed... this movie was EXCELLENT. IT should have made movie of the year... Leo of course was spectacular but also the supporting actor (I don't know his name)... This story bothers me so much... "Conflict Diamonds"... OMG!!! I just watched it for the first time. WOW!!! #punten#

Blood Diamond Rocked!!! Every time I go have my teeth cleaned my dentist calls me Jennifer. She swears I look like Jennifer Connely in that movie....um, ok, sure I do, whatever! I think I'm taking her a pair of glasses to my next visit.
I saw National Treasure 2 and it was good. Not as good as the first one, but still very entertaining and worth seeing!
Alvin and the Chipmunks was sooo cute!!!

I know it's been out for two weeks but I decided to treat myself to a movie today. I was torn between seeing Price Caspian or Ironman. I was still torn when I got to the box office and finally decided I'd go see Ironman. I was never a big fan of Robert Downey, Jr. but I thought he looked so HOT in all the promos for the movie...And besides that, IRON MAN is the end theme of the movie so how could it miss. I have to say that most of the superhero movies I've seen they show most of the best bits as trailers for the film. Happily, that was not the case with this movie. If you liked Spiderman, Superman, Batman, etc you'll really enjoy Ironman. It has a lot of action and hair-raising situations in it but it is a relatively short movie, just shy of 2 hours. Next week is one of my two biggies: INDIANA JONES...oooh yeah, Harrison Ford with the added attraction of Shia LeBouf....Can't miss that one. Then the new Sex and the City movie on the 30th...Chris Noth looks soooooo sexy in the tralers....
