I noticed this was the TV and Movie Room and we haven't talked much about movies, so I thought I would start a thread where everyone lists, talks about, and recommends their favorite movies.
Here are mine - Almost Famous Edward Scissorhands The Rocky Horror Picture Show How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days Failure to Launch A Walk to Remember Empire Records

My new favorite movie is Just Like Heaven. On Mary Beth's recommendation, I bought it for Kayla for Valentine's Day and we watched it today. It is sooo sweet.
My all time fav is Gone with the Wind. Other favs are Face/Off, Patriot Games, and Sweet Home Alabama.

Reese Witherspoon is such a great Actress and seems so grounded. I like most of her movies. I am glad you liked this one. I heard she was quite good in Walk the Line. She seems a lot like Meryl Streep and Gwyneth Paltrow in being able to evolve and do any number of roles.

I love this thread. Great idea. Thank you! As far as old movies, I love Sound of Music. When I was little this was my favorite movie, I would watch it like every day! Love it! When this was in theatres I saw it like 6 times and then when it came out I memorized every word! Whenever I really love a movie I watch it over and over and over!

(From thread "Going positively BATS at the movies")Hey Cat, Do you know if they are filming the sequel in Chicago again? They were pretty accessible to the public last time they shot here. My husband knows some of the folks who cater the movie sets and we can sometimes get onto the set. What should I do if I'm within 10 feet of Christian Bale? #whistling# #whistling# #dazed018# #dazed018# #dazed018# #thud# #thud# #thud# #thud# #thud# #thud# #thud#

#ditto# Carol, I like all of those that you listed, especially (as you know...) Cinema Paradiso!! Yes, those of you who haven't seen this movie should go rent it. It is Italian, with subtitles and there are two versions. The more recent "Director's Cut" includes the full story, but some devotees prefer the original version. I like both! ;D
Other favorites are...
Before Sunrise Before Sunset Under the Tuscan Sun Star Wars (well, all except maybe I and II) Almost Famous Legends of the Fall Serendipity (pretty much anything with John Cusack) ...lots of romantic comedies (too many to name!)
