Incredible pictures Jaunty. Your property looks like it is really amazing. Love the pics of the girls and horses. Your golden looks so much like my lucky-only without the gray. Gotta say I can't stand raccooons. They tried to enst in our chimney and the chimney guy sealed them in. Dead raccoons can suyre stink up a house. Squirrels are such nuisances here too-they make holes in peoples eaves and create havoc in the attic. I like wild animals in the wild and not in the house-now you see my mean streak!

If I was that turkey, I'd sure make myself scarce this time of year!!! All those little fur babies are so adorable! Luckily, we don't have problems with critters in the house, except for mice. Maybe having dogs and cats discourages them!

Heres my "Fur kid" I love her so much! She's my shadow. She would live inside my body if she could. This is Haven "My Angel" Haven is beautiful.I #thsmiley_loveshower# goldens. I've never owned one but, Sam used to play with our neighbor's golden when he was a pup. Sam is very independent, not at all a love sponge Here's Sam with playmates Suzie, the Golden & Heidi, the Shepherd

Here's Maxi, my love sponge, my shadow that I miss so much. She adopted us as a tiny, tiny, tiny baby (our Australian Cattledog/Lab mix found her under our deck in the middle of a blizzard. We never figured out where she came from) This is Sam, an Australian Cattledog Shepherd mix that we adopted from the Humane Society - he was my Christmas present to my hubby after listening to him moan & groan & beg for another cattledog. So, 4 years after Diggers passed away I caved in.

Aww, Maxi was so cute. I am so sorry for your loss. our Lucky seems to be slowing down. She sleeps more and her hips seem sore and I don't think she is hearing all that well(except when she hears the w-a-l-k word) Do any of you have any remedy for sore hips in dogs.she is 12 and I know Remadyl can be pretty hard on the liver Here she is all ready for Christmas a couple of years ago and one of her when she was younger

So, a few weeks ago I went to the pet store to get more Cosequin. This really did seem to help her a lot. And, while there I discovered they carried Pet Aspirin for pain/arthritis, which I also bought. I don't know how well this would have worked I had also refilled her Rx for Deramax.. but, this pain med does affect the kidneys after prolonged use. I knew Maxi was living on borrowed time (had been for 2 years) and I didn't want her in pain.. so, I decided to have the Deramax on hand for the really bad days... I was so afraid of the upcoming winter. I bet Jaunty can help you out with this area.

MaryBeth Haven was on Deramax for a couple years. I wanted to get her off because she only has one Kidney. She had Cancer (Nephroblastoma)of the kidney and had to remove it. So I am pretty careful and make sure the product is safe for her kidney and liver. Because she has hip displasia and bad arthritis from her hips and 2 cruciate surgerys later..I give her a daily dose of 3V Caps HP It has Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty Acids,(Fish Oil)&lVitamin E plus Synovi G3 Soft Chews a joint health supplement, it has glucosamine,MSM, Omega 3 fatty Acid & antioxidants.. Haven is a whole new dog. If your given Rimadyl make sure your getting annual blood work to check liver & kidney functions. It's extremely important. I just wanted to let you know. You probably already know. :-) No I don't think your mean...your just being honest...But someone has to be there to protect the animals...In my town that person is me. Rose your baby's are sooo adorable and I love your little love sponge..awwwwww xoxoxoxox Toni- I haven't seen any Turkeys since the leaves fell to the ground...Go Figure! They are pretty smart!

My grand dog has hip problems and they give her glucosamine tabs. She loves them! Since they have a pool, the dogs swims for hours on end all summer, and that really helps not only keep her limber but keep her weight down. Then every winter she gets all fat and stiff, and they use pain meds on the bad days. Our Border/Aussie mix has displasia in her left rear hip, but because of all the swimming and walks, her muscles seem to keep it all in place for now (plus upon vets suggestion, we have never let her jump more than up on the bed or couch). I assume that when she gets less active and old, we will have to start some kind of therapy to keep her as pain free as possible. Luckily, the glucosamine and OMega three can be made into good treats for dogs!!!

MB, one more suggestion. My late Elkhound, Koti, had a problem with a stiff shoulder when he was about two or three (finally figured out he was catching his claws in the carpet on the steps so we took it off) and my vet prescribed Flexeril (yep the same stuff people take) at 5 mg to be given for a couple days when the pain is really bad and also suggested a daily Aspirin. The Flexeril is a prescription that your vet would have to write and you would have to tell the pharmacist it's for a a dog so they can indicate it on the script label but it's not expensive and it worked wonders for by Koti-bear. He lived to be 15 before we lost him to renal failure due to his age. Elkhounds normally don't live beyond age 12 so we had him nearly four years after that. He would have been 16 the following January.
Jaunty, if I came to visit I'd never get done riding...I LOVE your horses and Melissa's too. Then I'd have to spend hours wrestling with the dogs...I don't know how Nigel would feel about that. And I don't know how he'd react to horses since he's never been around them., LOL. He LOVE your kitty, too.
